Discover the ultimate budget-friendly hotel in Yokohama with million-dollar views of Minato Mirai. Here is why Sakuragicho Washington Hotel is a must-stay.

Let’s get straight to the point.
You don’t need to spend a fortune on a hotel in Yokohama.
Sakuragicho Washington Hotel
I booked a Sunday-to-Monday stay in March for just about ~$64 per night.
If you choose their "Night View" room, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking.
Here is my honest, firsthand review of this budget-friendly gem!

Where is the best neighborhood to stay for a Yokohama trip?

For the ultimate sightseeing experience,
I highly recommend staying near Sakuragicho Station rather than Yokohama Station.
While Yokohama Station offers great transit access to Tokyo,
it’s actually quite far from the major tourist spots.
Staying near Sakuragicho Station makes it incredibly easy
to walk to the Red Brick Warehouse (Akarenga Soko), Chinatown, and other top attractions.
Plus, this area offers the absolute best hotel views in the city!
Stunning Yokohama Night Views on a Budget
About 70% of my reason for visiting Yokohama
was to see the iconic Minato Mirai skyline at night.
Ever since watching the Yokohama episodes in the classic anime
Honey and Clover, I’ve dreamed of seeing this view in person.
I spent hours searching for hotels with that specific view.
The famous InterContinental or Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu
seemed to have decent views, but the angle of Cosmo World wasn’t quite what I wanted.
Plus, they were incredibly expensive...
That's when I found this absolute steal of a hotel
offering a gorgeous bay view for just ~$64 a night:
Yokohama Sakuragicho Washington Hotel

And yes, my dream officially came true!
Isn't it absolutely gorgeous?

This is the view looking directly through the window.
You get a clear, unobstructed view of Cosmo World
and the entire Minato Mirai skyline. Simply stunning, right?
The room category was literally called the 'Night View' room,
and it definitely lived up to its name.

I was so excited that I couldn't stop taking hyperlapses,
videos, and endless photos from my window.

Here is a quick sneak peek for you!
The full videos are a bit too long, so I'm sharing these short clips for now.

Inside the Room: Night View Superior Double Room
While the view is the main selling point, the room condition matters too, right?
Let's take a look inside the Night View Superior Double Room.

As a double room, it features one double bed and that's about it.
It's a compact space, typical of most Japanese business hotels.

However, since it's not in the dead center of Tokyo,
it felt slightly more spacious than your average Tokyo business hotel.
There was even a small table and a chair right next to the bed.
The hotel has been around for a while, so you might notice some minor wear on the wallpaper or bedding.
But the cleanliness was top-notch, which is what matters most!

The bathroom also comes with just the essentials:
a compact bathtub, sink, and toilet.
Amenities include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap.
With fresh towels and clean bathrobes provided,
I had a perfectly comfortable and hassle-free stay.
Experience the ultimate Yokohama night view hotel
While Yokohama Station offers good access to Tokyo, it is far from the main tourist attractions. Staying near Sakuragicho Station makes it much more convenient to travel to major sights like the Red Brick Warehouse and Chinatown.
To enjoy the night view of Minatomirai and Cosmo World from your room, you must choose a 'Night View' room. It can be booked for ~$64 per night for a Sunday to Monday stay in March, allowing you to enjoy a wonderful view at a reasonable price.
The room is equipped with a double bed, a small table, and a chair, and is slightly more spacious than a typical business hotel in Tokyo. The bathroom has a small bathtub, and amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, towels, and bathrobes are provided.
