On my recent trip to Takamatsu, I visited the GU store at Yumetown Takamatsu. If you're heading to Tokyo, I highly recommend the Ginza branch – it’s the largest and offers the widest selection of items. Definitely worth a visit if you have the time!
How to Get and Use Your GU KakaoPay Discount Coupon
1. To use the GU discount coupon, you'll need the KakaoPay app installed on your phone.
2. Tap the search icon at the top of the KakaoPay app (refer to the image on the right!).
3. In the search bar, type "gu" and you'll see the option for the "Japan GU ~$4 (600 JPY) Instant Discount Coupon"! Click on it!
4. Once the right screen appears, click on "KakaoPay Payment" at the bottom.
5. This will take you to the KakaoPay in-store payment barcode screen. Simply use this barcode to pay at GU, and the ~$4 (600 JPY) discount will be applied automatically – no need to download a separate coupon!
Important: You can only pay with KakaoPay Money, so make sure to top up your balance beforehand!
As a reminder, if your purchase totals over ~$36 (5,000 JPY), you’ll also qualify for tax-free shopping. Don't forget to bring your passport to enjoy both the tax exemption and your KakaoPay discount for a truly savvy GU shopping spree!
