How to Get from Rome Termini Station to Fiumicino Airport SIT Airport Bus Review & Booking Tips Global Explorer Travel Guides |

When I first arrived in Rome, I took the airport bus from Fiumicino Airport to Termini Station.
It was so incredibly convenient and budget-friendly
that I didn't hesitate to book it again for my return trip from Termini Station to the airport on my last day.
If you're planning a European getaway in 2026,
you're probably looking to stretch your travel dollars wherever possible.
But at the same time, you want your transit to be as comfortable as possible.
That's exactly where the Rome Airport Bus (SIT) shines!

Boarding is an absolute breeze,
and at just 7 Euros (about ~$9) per person,
the value for money is simply unbeatable.
It takes you directly to the airport just like a taxi would,
so there's really no reason not to take it.
Let me break down my personal experience riding from Termini to the airport,
along with booking tips and the latest schedules.
There are three main ways to get from Rome Termini to Fiumicino (FCO) Airport:
1. Taxi / Uber: 70+ Euros (~$100)
2. Train (Leonardo Express): ~14 Euros (~$17)
3. Airport Bus: 7 Euros (~$9)
While a taxi offers the perk of door-to-door service,
long-term European travelers usually have massive suitcases.
Needing a larger van or SUV taxi can quickly hike up the price,
making it a pretty heavy burden on your budget.

The Rome Airport Bus I chose allows you to store two large suitcases in the hold,
and it departs right next to Termini Station,
making the stop incredibly easy to access.
Since it's a direct shot to the airport, it's honestly the best bang for your buck.
That's exactly why I booked a round-trip ticket.

We planned to catch a bus about 4 hours before our flight
and arrived at the bus stop 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
Our hotel was right across from Termini Station,
so we just walked over.
If you're navigating to the station from elsewhere,
just set your GPS to the Premier Best Western Hotel
and you'll spot the bus stop right there.

The bus rolled up about 5-10 minutes early.
Just have your QR code ready on your phone for the staff to scan,
and you can hop right on.
There are no assigned seats, so just grab any open spot!

The driver personally loads your luggage into the undercarriage compartments,
which saves you the hassle of lifting heavy bags yourself.
We had 3 massive suitcases with us,
and they took them all without batting an eye. So convenient!

The interior of the bus was surprisingly spacious and spotless.
✔ USB charging ports at every seat
✔ Free Wi-Fi on board
✔ Plenty of legroom and not overcrowded
✔ Excellent climate control (great A/C and heating)
Honestly, for this level of quality, I couldn't believe it was only 7 Euros (~$9).
Compared to a private taxi, the comfort level felt nearly identical.
Seriously.

The bus wasn't completely full, so we had plenty of room to stretch out.
I ended up taking a solid nap the whole way to the airport.
Exactly 55 minutes after boarding, we arrived at Fiumicino Airport!
Because there are no stops along the way,
the estimated arrival time was spot on.
It really is just as good as a taxi, right?
