1. Rome in November: Weather & What to Wear

**Rome in November** feels a lot like late October in Korea.
**Average High Temperature: 16°C**
**Average Low Temperature: 8°C**
**Average Rainfall: Approximately 110mm (10 rainy days)**
This year's forecast suggests it will be **slightly warmer than average**,
but also expect a few more **rainy days, around 12**.

**Early November (1st-10th)**
Daytime highs: 17-20°C; Nighttime lows: 8-11°C
Rain is forecast for three consecutive days from the 5th to the 7th...
**Mid-November (11th-20th)**
Daytime highs: 16-20°C; Nighttime lows: 7-11°C
Expect rain on the 12th, 14th, and 15th, with even thunder and lightning predicted for the 19th!
This is usually the wettest period of the month.
**Late November (21st-30th)**
Daytime highs: 16-19°C; Nighttime lows: 6-9°C
Showers are expected on the 21st-22nd, and rain on the 25th.
Since this is an AccuWeather long-range forecast,
it's always a good idea to double-check about a week before your departure.

During my trip in mid-November, it seemed to **rain quite often**.
It wasn't just short, heavy showers, but more of a persistent drizzle that made the skies cloudy,
so it actually felt quite chilly even during the day.
With the sun setting around 5 PM,
it's a great idea to pack in all your outdoor sightseeing during the morning hours.
What to Wear in Rome in November

**✔️ Daytime: Think cozy knits or long-sleeved tops + a cardigan.**
**✔️ After sunset: A lightweight down jacket or windbreaker is a must-have!**
**✔️ If you're wearing a skirt, opt for tights 80 denier or thicker.**
As someone who easily gets cold, I made sure to wear 80-denier tights to keep my legs warm, even avoiding sheer ones, haha.
My husband, on the other hand, who runs much warmer, was perfectly fine with just a shirt and a padded vest.
**TMI**: The cobblestone streets in Rome's old town get incredibly slippery when it rains, so **sneakers are absolutely essential**!
If you're planning a photoshoot and want to wear dressier shoes, make sure to pack them separately.
2. Recommended Tours for November
**Vatican Tour**
This tour takes you through the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel,
and St. Peter's Basilica!

The Vatican Museums are so vast that you'll spend hours walking just inside them, so if you go alone, you might get lost just trying to find your way to the Basilica.
Listening to explanations of the artworks will help them stick in your memory,
and you'll get to see the main masterpieces along the most optimal route.
If you visit in November, the daytime temperatures are a comfortable 17-20 degrees Celsius,
making it perfect for exploring the entire Vatican after your museum visit.
Plus, since it's mostly indoors, it's an ideal activity to include in your itinerary on a rainy day!

Sorrento & Positano Southern Italy Tour
This day trip takes you through the historical Pompeii ruins and charming coastal towns like Sorrento and Positano.
Each tour package has a different itinerary, so make sure to compare them!

Pompeii has mostly stone paths with little shade, which means
walking around in summer can be incredibly draining.
Cooler November is the perfect time to explore these ruins!
However, starting November 1st, Pompeii switches to its winter operating hours.
Last entry is at 3:30 PM, and the sun sets around 4:50 PM.

Since Pompeii is about a 3-hour drive from Rome,
it's nearly impossible to visit the ruins AND the coastal towns on a self-guided trip involving train transfers.
During this season, taking a tour that handles all the transportation and entry times
is definitely the most convenient way to go.

& Christmas Hotspots
I visited Rome from late November to early December,
so I unfortunately missed out on the Christmas season in Rome ㅠㅠ
If you're planning a trip from mid-December onwards,
I'll introduce some must-visit places and tours.
Rome Night Tour
In December, the sun sets around 4:40 PM,
so you can see Rome lit up from early evening.
What's more, I heard that Christmas lights will be strung all along
Via del Corso, which stretches from Piazza Venezia
to Piazza del Popolo.

I went on a night tour in November,
but I'm so incredibly curious to see how much more romantic
Rome becomes in December with the added Christmas decorations!
A private night tour by car with a Korean guide in the late afternoon,
without worrying about safety, is an absolute must-do for honeymoons,
so make sure to experience it!

St. Peter's Square Christmas Tree & Nativity Scene

They say that in December, a giant Christmas tree and
a life-sized nativity scene are set up in St. Peter's Square.
Last year, they were lit on December 15th
and could be seen until January 11th.
Piazza Navona Christmas Market

This is the market I was most regretful about missing, just looking at the photos,
as it's the first place that comes to mind when you think of Christmas in Rome.
I heard that the square fills up with stalls selling unique items and desserts,
and they even set up a carousel!!!
Last year, it was open from December 1st to January 6th.
Address
Piazza Navona, 00186 Roma RM, Italy
5. November & December Travel Essentials
Many accommodations in Europe don't have underfloor heating,
so the rooms can get quite chilly at night.
Portable Electric Seat Cushion
Just a small USB electric seat cushion can significantly improve the quality of your sleep...
If you're sensitive when sleeping or get cold easily,
you absolutely MUST pack one of these!!!
Adhesive Hand Warmers
The adhesive hand warmers we use in Korea
are hard to find in local supermarkets there.
Stick one on when you go to see the night views, and you'll feel nice and toasty.
Lightweight Umbrella/Parasol
Even though it rains frequently, it's usually not heavy,
so a lightweight umbrella/parasol is sufficient.
I forgot to pack an umbrella and had a tough time trying to find one to buy in Rome ㅠ
