My brother's family and I recently embarked on a wonderful family trip to Daegu.

On our second day, we indulged in a luxurious staycation at a 5-star Daegu hotel,

but for our first night, we stayed at the Rivertain Hotel,

right in the heart of Dongseong-ro.

Given our group size, we booked two rooms.

Its great location meant we could park easily,

and it was perfect for exploring Daegu city center on foot.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and high-quality,

and we even enjoyed a fantastic buffet.

It truly kicked off our Daegu adventure in the best possible way!

I'll tell you all about the location of Rivertain Hotel in Daegu's Dongseong-ro,

the room conditions, nearby attractions, and so much more,

so you can plan your perfect stay.

1. Rivertain Hotel: Your Daegu Accommodation's Prime Location

Rivertain Hotel is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from

Jungangno Station on Daegu Subway Line 1.

Situated right in the heart of Dongseong-ro's city center,

it was absolutely perfect for foot travelers like me

who wanted to arrive early on their first day and explore Daegu's downtown area.

The Dongseong-ro shopping street and food alley are just a stone's throw away,

and within walking distance, you'll find iconic Daegu attractions like Gyeongsanggamyeong Park, Gukchaebosang Movement Memorial Park,

and the Modern Cultural Alley.

This makes it incredibly easy to plan your trip, combining delicious food tours

and city sightseeing entirely on foot!

Clean, budget-friendly, and perfect for family stays,

but Agoda also suggests other popular value-for-money hotels nearby,

allowing you to carefully compare prices before making your reservation.

I booked a Rivertain Standard Double room with breakfast during peak season on a weekend for around ~$120,

but this season, you can find it for around ~$60 without breakfast on weekdays.

It's truly a fantastic value accommodation in Daegu!

My brother's family also booked an additional triple room.

Although I started my trip on foot,

the hotel has a parking lot on the first floor, so my brother's family, who arrived late at night,

could easily park and begin their adventure too.

2. Rivertain Hotel: Room Conditions

The front desk on the first floor kindly held our luggage,

and after check-in, they gave us a friendly guide to our rooms.

There was a small sofa area where guests could relax,

and although there are convenience stores and a Daiso nearby (so we had no worries),

there was also a vending machine on one side

where you could purchase drinks and snacks.

The Standard Double room, at 28m²,

boasted a remarkably clean, modern, and uncluttered interior that truly impressed us.

Being located right in the city center, when we opened the window,

the sounds of the bustling city filled the room.

However, with the air conditioning on and the double-glazed windows tightly shut,

we enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep without any disturbing noise.

The bed was also clean and incredibly cozy.

The bathroom was super convenient with separate areas for the washbasin, bathtub, and toilet, making it really comfortable to use.

The bathtub was generously sized, perfect for a relaxing half-bath to soak away the day's fatigue.

Shampoo, body wash, and other amenities were generously provided in shared dispensers.

One of the major perks of the popular Daegu Rivertton Hotel is that every room comes equipped with an LG Styler!

I even used it to quickly dry some hand-washed items, which was incredibly handy.

After walking tirelessly through Daefrica's scorching heat (Daegu + Africa, a local nickname for the city's intense summer heat!), I popped my skirt in, and it came out perfectly fresh and crisp in no time – what a lifesaver!

The mini-fridge had bottled water, and there was an electric kettle along with instant coffee and tea sachets.

Bottled water, razors, and toothbrushes can be purchased for ~$1 each at the front desk on the first floor.

Overall, for a budget-friendly hotel in Daegu, the room was surprisingly spacious, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching TV from the comfort of the bed in the evening.

The tea table was perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee.

There was also a desk, which was great for setting up my laptop and getting some work done.

3. Clean and Generous Breakfast

Regular prices are ~$15 for adults and ~$11 for children aged 48 months up to elementary school age. Keep an eye out for period-specific promotions, including guest discounts, to make the most of it!

With its modern and clean interior, I went down for breakfast without expecting much from a budget-friendly hotel, planning just to grab some fruit. But I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast spread and ended up overeating bright and early!

There was an impressive array of bakery items, cereals, drinks, soup, porridge, stew, sausages, scrambled eggs, and a fantastic selection of Korean side dishes like gimbap, kimchi, namul, and stir-fried spicy pork.

Plus, they made fried eggs fresh to order right in front of you, and there was plenty of fresh fruit.

What's more, from 07:00 - 12:30 on weekdays and 07:30 - 12:30 on weekends and holidays, you can also enjoy regular ramyeon (~$4) and jjamppong ramyeon (~$5). So, if you're on a trip to Daegu, you can really indulge in a 'hocance' (hotel vacation) with a surprisingly rich array of delicious food!

If you're ordering delivery food in the evening, you can pick it up directly from the first floor.

Also, on the 2nd floor, there's Café River Coffee, a book reading area, and a book rental corner, so make sure to check them out!

4. Concluding Our Daegu Dongseongno Hotel Family Trip

As a budget-friendly hotel in downtown Daegu, I didn't have huge expectations for our one-night stay and a simple breakfast. However, it turned out to have excellent accessibility, comfortable rooms, and a breakfast that exceeded all expectations – truly a perfect Daegu hotel for travelers exploring on foot!

Especially if you're traveling with kids, you'll likely be looking for a more pleasant and quieter hotel in Daegu's Dongseong-ro, rather than a motel-level place.

And the breakfast here was so satisfying and well-prepared that even my niece loved it!
