Grainmori Bakery Cafe Review: A Scenic Daegu Escape

Grainmori, a popular bakery cafe, has been generating buzz as a must-visit spot in Gyeongsan and a fantastic day trip from Daegu. I recently had the chance to experience it for myself!

This expansive bakery cafe was thoughtfully converted from what was once a sprawling landscaping nursery.

With its inviting interior featuring large, picturesque windows, a spacious outdoor garden, and a stunning greenhouse, it's no surprise that people from Gyeongsan and even Daegu make the scenic drive out here.

1. Gyeongsan Cafe Grainmori: Location & Hours

From Daegu's Suseong-gu District Office, it took us about 15-20 minutes by car. That's roughly 5-7 miles, depending on traffic.

There's a huge private parking lot right in front of the cafe, so finding a spot is usually a breeze.

2. The Cafe & Greenhouse Ambiance

Grainmori Bakery Cafe in Gyeongsan offers seating both within its main building and inside a dedicated greenhouse.

Since it's such a popular spot, it’s a good idea to secure your seats before heading to the counter to order.

Step inside the main red-brick building, and you'll be greeted by expansive windows offering delightful views of the surrounding greenery.

But without a doubt, the greenhouse area is Grainmori's standout feature.

Lush, vibrant plants are dotted everywhere, with cozy seating areas nestled naturally amongst them.

The atmosphere is truly enchanting!

There are so many unique plants to discover, which makes it a hit with kids too.

3. Grainmori Menu Highlights

The menu features a wide selection of coffees, beverages, smoothies, ice cream, and teas, alongside an impressive array of baked goods.

Their Mori Cream Latte (~$5) and Ube Cafe Latte (~$5) are particularly famous.

For the little ones, the Milk Ice Cream (~$4) is a great choice.

We visited around 2:00 PM, and many of the popular breads were already sold out!

Luckily, some of their best-sellers like the Myeongnan Salt Bread (~$3), Chive Cream Cheese Salt Bread (~$3), and Chocolate Baguette (~$4) were still available.

​4. My Honest Review

We settled into a lovely spot in Grainmori's enchanting greenhouse.

We ordered the Chocolate Baguette and Melon Bread.

The Chocolate Baguette came with a generous dollop of fresh whipped cream.

The baguette was generously filled with chocolate, making it incredibly sweet and delicious.

It paired perfectly with an Iced Americano – truly a match made in heaven! 👍🏻

The Melon Bread was also delightful, bursting with rich cream.

If you're trying this combo, I recommend starting with the Melon Bread before moving on to the Chocolate Baguette for the ultimate flavor experience.

If you're looking for a spacious cafe with a beautiful garden near Gyeongsan or Daegu for a weekend outing, Grainmori is definitely worth the trip.

However, because it's so popular, if you arrive too late, you might miss out on some of their delicious baked goods.

We left the cafe around 4:00 PM, and by then, most of the bread was already sold out.

It's a classic case of the early bird getting the best treats!
