Discover the RIHGA Royal Hotel Hiroshima, perfectly located near the airport bus terminal, Hondori, and the Atomic Bomb Dome for an effortless city adventure in 2026.

When planning your Hiroshima trip, accommodation typically falls into two main areas:
→ Near Hiroshima Station
→ Near Hondori Street

This time, however, I opted for a spot slightly north of Hondori, near Kencho-mae Station and Sogo Department Store, rather than Hiroshima Station or Hondori itself.
Hondori, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and Don Quijote are all within easy walking distance. Plus, having the Hiroshima Airport bus terminal right next to the hotel made my departure day incredibly smooth, especially with all my luggage.
As a solo traveler who tends to pack a lot (think 60+ pounds of luggage!), transportation convenience was my absolute top priority for this Hiroshima stay.

That's why I booked the
RIHGA Royal Hotel Hiroshima.

It’s just a 3-minute walk from the Hiroshima Bus Terminal. Being so close to both the train station and bus terminal was a huge plus.
For someone like me, hauling over 60 pounds of luggage, easy transit is everything.

The check-in counter was quite grand, and fitting for a 4-star hotel, there was even a staff member who spoke English.
After checking in using only English or Japanese in places like Onomichi and Tomonoura, hearing someone speak my native language was a welcome relief!

I had initially booked a slightly cheaper smoking room, but I requested a non-smoking room when booking, and the staff kindly accommodated me!

The Hiroshima Prefecture accommodation tax, which came into effect on 04/01/2026, amounted to ~$2 for my two-night stay, and I was able to pay by card :)

Amenities were all provided in the room, and you could take one complimentary bottle of water per person upstairs.
Coffee and sugar packets were also available for self-service to take to your room!

After checking in, I turned around to find six elevators! Quite impressive.
The elevators are split into A (left) and B (right), serving different floors, so make sure to check which one you need. Since I was assigned the 20th floor, I took an A elevator.

Getting a room on one of the top floors meant I was really looking forward to the view! 🏙️
Room Layout

Even though I was traveling solo, I booked a twin single room. It featured two super-single beds, each with a reading light and a single power outlet by the headboard.

The view was a fantastic cityscape of Hiroshima! :)
With parks and rivers visible throughout, it offered a wonderfully expansive panorama.
I heard some rooms even have a castle tower view, but I was perfectly content with this one.

Below the beds, there was a TV and a luggage rack.

The desk had cups, a coffee maker, and two power outlets. I used a multi-adapter to charge my Osmo and use the hairdryer.

The bathroom, while looking a bit dated, had excellent water pressure, was perfectly clean, and completely odor-free.

Standard amenities like toothbrushes, razors, and cotton swabs were provided, though I always bring my own so I didn't use them.
A hairdryer was available, and I received four towels per person per day.

There was also a mini-fridge and an air purifier. The cleaning was so thorough that there wasn't any dust, so I barely used the air purifier.
All the hotels I stayed at during this Hiroshima trip were incredibly clean and odor-free – what a lucky streak! 💛

Now, for the all-important price! I booked a 2-night stay with a free cancellation option on Agoda for ~$136. Keep in mind that hotel prices can vary by season, so this is just for reference!

While comparing prices, I noticed Trip.com is currently running a special promotion :)
Even for the same hotel, I recommend comparing prices to ensure you get the best deal!

During check-in, I received a 10% discount coupon for the hotel restaurant. However, I already had a brunch spot picked out nearby, and the breakfast price was around ~$26 per person, so I didn't use it.

There's also a convenient store on the first floor, open from 6:00 AM to midnight.
Since there wasn't another convenience store super close to the hotel, this one came in handy.

Taxis were always waiting outside the hotel, and when heading back, just saying 'RIHGA Royal Hotel' was enough, as most drivers knew it, making things super easy.
The RIHGA Royal Hotel Hiroshima's prime location, right next to the Hiroshima Airport bus terminal and within walking distance of Hondori, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and Don Quijote, made navigating Hiroshima city incredibly convenient throughout my trip.
If you're like me – someone who loves to shop and carries a lot of luggage, prefers a clean and tidy hotel, and wants a seamless transfer to the airport on your last day – then the RIHGA Royal Hotel Hiroshima is an excellent choice.

It takes about a 3-minute walk from the hotel to the Hiroshima Bus Terminal. The bus terminal is right next door, making it very convenient to travel to the airport with heavy luggage.
You need to pay a total Hiroshima Prefecture accommodation tax of 400 yen for a 2-night stay. This tax can also be paid by card at check-in.
There is a convenience store on the first floor of the hotel that is open from 6:00 AM to midnight. Since there are no convenience stores right next to the hotel, this one is very handy.
One bottle of water is provided per person, and you need to bring it up to your room yourself from the first floor. Coffee and sugar are also available on the first floor for self-service.
