Rihga Royal Hotel Hiroshima Review 2026: Prime Location & Views
Planning a trip to Hiroshima? This Rihga Royal Hotel review covers rooms, stunning city views, prime location near Hondori and Peace Park, plus pricing for your 2026 visit.

Planning your first trip to Hiroshima and wondering where to stay? While Hiroshima Station offers a bustling area, many key attractions like Peace Memorial Park, Don Quijote, and Animate are actually clustered around Hatchobori and Hondori.
On a previous visit with my boyfriend, we stayed near Hiroshima Station, and it felt surprisingly quiet at night. This time, traveling solo, I opted for the Rihga Royal Hotel Hiroshima, which is perfectly situated in the heart of the lively district and right next to the airport bus terminal.
Ready for my honest, 'paid-for-myself' review of the Rihga Royal Hotel Hiroshima, from A to Z? Let's dive in!
Rihga Royal Hotel Hiroshima Location

The Rihga Royal Hotel boasts an unbeatable location, just about a 3-minute walk from the Hiroshima Bus Terminal. This meant I could easily head straight to my room after getting off the airport bus – a huge plus after a long journey!
Major spots like Hondori shopping street, Don Quijote, and the Atomic Bomb Dome are all within easy walking distance. Even the Korean Atomic Bomb Victims Memorial is close by. This perfect balance of convenient airport access and prime city sightseeing was the main reason I chose this hotel.
Room Review

Check-in was from 3:00 PM. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Korean-speaking staff member who even gave me some great local restaurant recommendations!
I initially booked a smoking room because it was more affordable but requested a non-smoking room in my booking notes. They kindly accommodated my request, so I didn't have to worry about any lingering odors.

The Hiroshima Prefecture accommodation tax was an additional ~$3 for my two-night stay, which I paid separately by card.

Although I was traveling solo, I ended up booking a Standard Twin room – it was the only room type available at the time, but no complaints! Even with two beds, the room felt incredibly spacious.

At approximately 280 square feet, it's the perfect size for two people, offering plenty of room to stretch out. Considering many Japanese business hotels are around 160 square feet, this was a generous 1.5 times larger!

My absolute favorite part of the room was the view!
From the 20th floor, I had a breathtaking panoramic vista of Hiroshima city, the river, and the surrounding parks. There was no need to seek out a separate spot for night views; I saved money by skipping the Orizuru Tower observation deck!

The bathroom was clean and odor-free, with excellent water pressure. I even picked up some bath bombs from Daiso and enjoyed a relaxing soak in the tub.

The room was well-equipped with essential amenities like toothbrushes, razors, cotton swabs, a hairdryer, a refrigerator, and an air purifier.

Plus, there were six hangers by the entrance, plenty for two people.

Remember to grab complimentary water, coffee, or tea when you check in.
Accommodation Price
I booked my two-night stay with free cancellation on Agoda for approximately ~$172.

Hotel Amenities

I received a 10% discount coupon for breakfast, but since breakfast was about ~$30, I decided not to use it.
For that price, I figured I'd rather explore a local restaurant nearby.

One minor drawback is the lack of a convenience store right next to the hotel. There's one about a 5-minute walk away, which can feel a bit inconvenient if you need something urgently.
However, there's a hotel shop on the first floor that operates from 6:00 AM to midnight, which is a good alternative.
Rihga Royal Hotel Hiroshima Review Summary

Overall, the Rihga Royal Hotel's biggest strength is its location.
With the airport bus terminal right next door and Hondori, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and Don Quijote all within walking distance, it was incredibly easy to explore, even as a solo traveler. Plus, getting to Miyajima is simple from the station in front of the hotel. What's more, it's not right in the middle of a noisy bar district, so nights were relatively peaceful.
I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Hiroshima, perhaps even with my boyfriend! :D
