Ricordo Phu Quoc Review 2026: Delicious Wood-Fired Pizza & More
Craving amazing food in Phu Quoc? Ricordo in Sonasea delivers! From delicious wood-fired pizzas to spicy tteokbokki and famous mango bingsu, every dish is a winner. Find your next favorite meal.
If you're staying at resorts like Novotel or Best Western, you'll likely find yourself strolling through the vibrant Sonasea shopping area quite often.
While the Korean restaurant 'Sikgaek' upstairs is well-known, I heard about a fantastic Western restaurant, Ricordo, on the ground floor right below it, and had to check it out.

Its inviting facade and prime location along the pedestrian path naturally draw you in. With both indoor and outdoor seating, it seemed like most people enjoyed their main meals inside, while the outdoor tables were perfect for a casual drink or a refreshing beer.

The menu primarily features Western dishes like pasta, pizza, and salads, but they also offer a few beloved Korean options.
I decided on a unique combination: pizza and tteokbokki (spicy Korean rice cakes). While the pasta looked tempting, these two called to me more!
My companion opted for a handmade burger, so we ended up with three dishes and a cold beer.

The tteokbokki was generously portioned and perfectly chewy, with a delightful kick of spice. It paired incredibly well with the pizza, offering a fantastic sweet and spicy contrast. It's a surprisingly good combination that you don't often find together!
I expected my choices to be good, but my friend's handmade burger was equally delicious. Ricordo truly lives up to its reputation as a top Phu Quoc restaurant.

Here are some top-down and angled shots. My photography skills still have a long way to go, haha!
I didn't notice it when taking individual photos, but the wrapping paper beneath the burger adds a nice touch to the overall presentation.
After enjoying our meal so much, I looked up Ricordo and discovered it's particularly renowned for its authentic wood-fired pizzas – a true Phu Quoc gem!
Curious, I took a quick stroll around to see if they indeed had a wood-fired oven.

And there it was, right inside!

Towards what felt like the back entrance, there was another charming area. While my initial spot was more open and connected to the outdoors, this section offered a more private and intimate ambiance.
It seemed like larger groups and families gravitated towards this area, whereas couples or smaller parties often preferred the front section.
Honestly, I was so full I just walked around a bit to help digest all that amazing food, haha!
Now, for dessert!

While we were eating, I searched online and found out their mango shaved ice (bingsu) was also a famous Phu Quoc specialty, so of course, we had to order it!
Even though we were already completely stuffed, we couldn't resist.
The mango itself was, as expected, incredibly delicious. But I think the real secret to its fame lies in the ice.

The ice inside was a delicate 'snow ice' – wonderfully soft, cool, and sweet.
After finishing off the dessert, feeling utterly satisfied and full, we lingered a little longer before heading out.
With the warm weather outside and our full bellies, it was tempting to just sit there indefinitely. If we hadn't had afternoon plans, I would have happily settled in, sipping coffee or beer, maybe writing a bit, or simply relaxing. It looked like the perfect spot for it!
However, our schedule called, so we reluctantly got up and left, already looking forward to our next visit.

If you're staying in this area, it's also a great spot for a casual evening beer. You could pair it with some crispy fries, or even try their 'Chimaek' (Korean fried chicken and beer combo) – yes, they have K-Chicken too! While I only tried a few dishes, the quality was so consistently high that I'm confident everything else on the menu would be just as good.
Ricordo truly impressed, delivering delicious flavors across the board. It's definitely a Phu Quoc restaurant worth visiting!
