Osaka Namba Budget-Friendly Hotel Guide
Where to Stay in Osaka: Red Roof Inn

Hello, fellow travelers!
I'm travel influencer Nabongsun.
Recently, my husband and I
took a wonderful trip to Osaka, Japan.
Since I visit Japan quite frequently,
I've stayed at many of the famous, budget-friendly
Osaka accommodations near Namba Station.
But at the end of the day, if they have rooms available,
I always find myself choosing Red Roof Inn.

It's a place I've stayed at multiple times
during my free travels in Japan,
so you could say it's my go-to hotel in Namba.
While the rooms might be cozy and compact—as expected
for a budget-friendly hotel in Namba, Osaka—it's incredibly clean and safe.
For those searching for a genuinely great value hotel in Osaka,
here is a detailed review of Red Roof Inn's location,
rooms, and amenities.
1. Red Roof Inn Location & Booking

First of all, when it comes to location,
this is an absolutely unbeatable budget hotel in Osaka.
It's located very close to Sotetsu Grand Fresa Osaka Namba,
which is highly popular among travelers, but it offers
an even more reasonable and pocket-friendly rate.

It is situated near Den Den Town,
often called the holy land of gaming and anime.
The best part was that in the evening,
it was much quieter than the main shopping and dining streets.

Check-in: 3:00 PM
Check-out: 11:00 AM

It takes less than a 4-minute walk from Nankai Namba Station,
where the airport train from Kansai International Airport arrives.
If you're arriving on a late-night flight, you can quickly check in
and immediately start your food tour in the lively neighborhood.
Kuromon Market is right across the street,
which makes it incredibly easy to explore during the day.

Not only Dotonbori, but also the trendy Shinsekai Market
are within easy walking distance. It's perfect for a night stroll
to enjoy the city lights and grab a drink.
Since taxi fares in Japan can be quite expensive,
having so many major sights within walking distance and
being close to multiple subway stations is a huge advantage.

The booking link below lets you compare real-time prices
with other budget-friendly Namba hotels,
so you can check your options and book at a discounted rate.
Book Osaka Red Roof Inn on Agoda
During the regular season, you can book a double room for two
on weekdays for around ~$38 to ~$45 per night.
I've stayed in several different room types here before,
but since this trip was just my husband and me,
we booked the Standard Double Room strictly for its value.
It cost us about ~$192 for a 5-night weekday stay,
which is such an amazing deal, right?

I also really liked the modern, clean logo and interior design.
The front desk is right there as soon as you step onto the 1st floor,
and the staff have always been incredibly kind and welcoming.

They offer luggage storage on both your check-in and check-out days.
Plus, the main hotel entrance is locked from midnight to 6:00 AM
and requires a room key to enter, which made me feel
very secure and guaranteed a quiet night's sleep.
2. Room Tour

The Standard Double Room we stayed in
is 13m² (approx. 140 sq ft). Since it has just one double bed,
it actually felt a bit more spacious than a twin room.

Since my husband and I are both on the taller side,
we were a bit worried that the bed might be too small.
But luckily, it was spacious enough for the two of us
to get a great, comfortable night's sleep!

We brought one large suitcase with us,
and there was a dedicated space right in front of the window to lay it open.
It actually felt surprisingly roomy,
and navigating around the room was super easy.
Plus, the TV was perfectly positioned so we could watch it right from the bed.

Right next to it, there was a sturdy desk...

It had a clever design that doubles as a vanity table,
making it super convenient for getting ready in the morning.
It was also a great, stable workspace for opening up my laptop to get some work done.

While there wasn't a traditional wardrobe, there were plenty of clothes hangers
right by the entrance. It actually worked out great because we could quickly wash
a few items by hand, hang them up, and they'd dry in no time!

The room came fully loaded with clean disposable slippers, fabric refresher,
an electric kettle, a mini safe,
and a perfectly functioning mini-fridge.
They even restocked two complimentary bottles of water every day!

As expected from a budget-friendly Osaka Namba hotel,
the bathroom is cozy, but spotlessly clean.
As for amenities, the shared dispensers were filled with
shampoo, conditioner, and body wash,
all of which felt gentle and worked wonderfully.

The sink area was also stocked with cleansing foam,
as well as toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Other extra amenities like razors, combs, cotton pads, and cotton swabs,
along with nightgowns, were available on the first floor
right in front of the elevator. You can grab as many
as you need!
One detail that really stood out to me was that this Osaka hotel
offers extra pillows if you need them.

A lot of budget-friendly hotels in Namba only offer housekeeping
every 2 to 3 days for consecutive stays. However, here you can request
daily cleaning, and they do a fantastic job. Even if you skip cleaning
to rest during the day, they will neatly pack fresh towels and bottled water
in a box and place it right outside your door.
How thoughtful is that?
3. Amenities & Facilities

And here is the absolute main reason why I check availability
at the Red Roof Inn first thing whenever I plan a trip
to Osaka, Japan!

There’s a complimentary drink zone tucked away on one side of the 1st floor.
Here, you can enjoy a coffee machine, various teas, ice,
and you're completely free to use the microwave as well.

Since I travel to Japan frequently for both business and leisure,
I love grabbing some light breakfast items from the local market,
sitting down here with a free cup of tea to enjoy my meal.
The power outlets are very accessible too,
so I often find myself catching up on work on my laptop
in these cozy chairs on the first floor of the Red Roof Inn Osaka.

Even if the rooms are on the smaller side, having this self-serve, cafe-like space
saves so much money on water and drinks. Plus, since I don't have to
wander around looking for a cafe with outlets just to do some work,
it really helps cut down on our overall Osaka travel expenses!
It's a huge budget saver.
4. Wrapping Up

This free-spirited trip to Osaka with my husband was...
Since we spent every day exploring nearby towns and the city center until late,
clocking in tens of thousands of steps daily and coming back late at night,
we were so busy showering, getting a bit of work done, and crashing for the night
that choosing Red Roof Inn—a budget-friendly Osaka gem—
turned out to be the absolute perfect choice.

While it might not be the most luxurious or grand hotel in Osaka Namba,
its unbeatable location—offering easy transit access and being within walking distance
to all the major sightseeing spots around Namba—
saved us so much time and precious energy.
By staying multiple nights at this budget-friendly Osaka Namba hotel
and saving a huge chunk of money on accommodation,
my husband and I were able to splurge completely on our food adventures
during our stay!

In Japan, even if you book a 5-star hotel,
the rooms can often be quite compact,
which is why so many smart travelers look for practical, high-value stays, right?
We highly recommend enjoying a worry-free, multi-night stay
at Red Roof Inn & Suites Osaka Namba Nippombashi!
