Where to Stay in Osaka:
Red Roof Inn & Suites Near Namba Station
Written & Photographed by Hi-Bubu
If you're planning your first trip to Osaka,
you're probably asking yourself,
'Where should I stay?'
Location can make or break your trip,
so finding the right base camp is absolutely crucial.
Today, I want to share my personal favorite area to stay,
along with a full review of the hotel I recently booked:
the Red Roof Inn & Suites near Namba Station!

First, let's talk about why this location is top-tier.
The station right in the center of the map is
✅ Nankai Namba Station.
This is the main hub almost every traveler uses when coming into the city from Kansai International Airport (KIX).
On your first and last days of an international trip,
you're usually exhausted. The last thing you want is to
drag heavy luggage for miles.
Because of this, I almost always choose hotels
right around Namba Station.
Plus, the surrounding area is incredible. To the south, you have the geek-culture hub of Denden Town,
and to the north is Ura Namba, packed with hidden local eateries.
It's a fantastic spot for both day and night exploration.
✅ Best of all, accommodations in this specific pocket tend to be much more budget-friendly.
If there's one minor drawback, it's that it is a bit
further from the famous Dotonbori area (about a 0.6-mile walk).
However, since you can just drop your bags at the hotel
and walk unencumbered, the distance really isn't a burden.
Now, let's dive into my stay at the
Red Roof Inn & Suites!

Red Roof Inn & Suites Osaka Namba Nipponbashi (Red Roof Inn & Suites Osaka Namba Nipponbashi) 📍Check-in: 3:00 PM 📍Check-out: 11:00 AM Location: 2 Chome-7-9 Nipponbashi, Chuo Ward, Osaka |

Red Roof Inn & Suites is incredibly convenient,
located just a 5-minute walk (around 0.2 miles) from Nankai Namba Station.
While standard check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM,
they offer complimentary luggage storage both before and after your stay.
This means no matter what time your flight lands, you can drop your bags
and immediately start exploring the city stress-free.

❗️ What really sold me was the price point.
Osaka's hotel prices have seen some serious inflation lately,
but you can still book this gem for around $80 to $100 a night,
offering unbeatable value.
💡 I'll share my tips on how to score the lowest rates at the end of this post!

The lobby isn't huge, but it's spotless and modern,
featuring a cozy seating area right across from the front desk.

They also have an amenity bar set up on the first floor.
You can freely grab essentials like sleep gowns, combs, razors,
hair ties, and cotton swabs to take to your room.
(Note: Toothbrushes and toothpaste were already stocked in the bathroom).

To head up to your room, just go through the door to the right
of the check-in counter. Follow the hallway,
take a left at the corner, and you'll find the elevators.

We booked a Standard Double Room and were assigned
to the 8th floor—the top floor!
The overall vibe of the hotel is bright, clean, and very welcoming.

The room features warm wood tones that make the space feel incredibly cozy.
Walking in, you have a full-length mirror and hangers on the left,
the bathroom on the right, and the bedroom area straight ahead.
Like most Japanese business hotels, it's compact, but the layout is highly functional.

The double bed wasn't massive, but it was
exceptionally plush—I slept like a baby!
Because the bed was so comfortable,
I didn't even mind the smaller room size.
There are also built-in reading lamps on the headboard,
which were perfect for late-night scrolling.

Beyond the bed, there's a small desk and chair—
great for enjoying late-night convenience store snacks.
The best part? The center of the desk flips up to reveal a hidden vanity mirror,
making it super easy to sit and do your makeup!

Inside the mini-fridge, we found two complimentary 500ml bottles of water!
Many Japanese hotels have stopped providing free bottled water recently,
so this small touch was highly appreciated.

In the entryway, they provide a luggage rack, a shoehorn, fabric deodorizer spray,
extra hangers, and disposable slippers.
I personally love it when hotels provide fresh slippers,
so this was another win for me.

The bathroom maintained the same clean white-and-wood aesthetic.
I loved that the toilet and shower booth were separated by a frosted glass door,
keeping the rest of the bathroom floor completely dry.
It comes fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash,
toothbrushes, toothpaste, and plenty of fresh towels.
You really don't need to pack any of your own toiletries!
Overall, the bright and pristine condition of the room
meant we had zero complaints during our stay!
💡 Now, here's how you can book the Red Roof Inn & Suites
for the best price.
I make it a habit to always compare prices
across multiple platforms before booking.
✅ For a weekday stay in November 2026, comparing platforms like
Trip.com and Agoda yielded the best results!

November Weekdays | Trip.com | Agoda |
Standard Double Room | ~$86 | ~$87 |
Book Now |
Keep in mind that the cheapest platform can change
depending on your exact travel dates and when you book.
Always do a quick comparison and lock in the best deal!
For the price point, the Red Roof Inn & Suites
exceeded my expectations in both location and room quality.
Yes, it's a business hotel, so the rooms are on the smaller side,
but the incredible convenience and comfort more than make up for it.
If you're planning a trip to Osaka in 2026,
I highly recommend adding this spot to your shortlist!
