[Rome Restaurant Gem] REbasilico
Unforgettable Amatriciana and Chewy Burrata Pizza (Walk from Termini/Wood-Fired)
During a recent trip to Rome, while staying near Termini Station, I was on the hunt for genuine local wood-fired pizza and pasta. That’s how I stumbled upon REbasilico.

Our visit happened during Ferragosto, Italy's major summer holiday in August 2026, so I was a bit worried many restaurants might be closed. Thankfully, REbasilico was open, and even better, there was no wait when we arrived!
The restaurant had a lively bar-meets-pizzeria vibe. It was bustling, and almost everyone seemed to be enjoying their own personal pizza.

It was an easy walk, and I visited on a whim, but the pasta and pizza far exceeded my expectations. The pasta, in particular, was absolutely incredible – you *have* to try it!

Menu
The menu was conveniently accessible via a QR code.
As a pizzeria, the prices were quite reasonable, which was a pleasant surprise!
Pizza: ~$12 ~ ~$14
Pasta: ~$11 ~ ~$13
Margherita: ~$9
House Wine / Draft Beer: ~$4 ~ ~$7
Their menu features authentic wood-fired pizzas and classic pasta dishes.
Seeing almost everyone indulging in their own whole pizza made me feel like we'd definitely picked the right spot!
Since it was our first night in Rome, we decided to keep it simple and ordered one pizza and one pasta dish.
August nights in Rome can be incredibly hot, so to cool down, we also ordered an Aperol Spritz. Cheers!

Exterior

From a distance, the lively buzz made me wonder if there would be a long wait.
The outdoor terrace tables were completely full, and you could tell it was a popular local spot just by looking at it.
Interior

Inside, as expected from a true pizzeria, there was a prominent wood-fired oven.

Given the scorching August heat, we opted for an indoor table rather than the terrace. While it offered some relief, don't expect Arctic temperatures – Italian interiors often embrace a more ambient warmth!

The chairs were a bit low, but we eagerly awaited our first meal, full of anticipation.
Our Order
Water: ~$2
Pizza Burrata: ~$15
Amatriciana: ~$14
Aperol Spritz: ~$11
Table Charge: ~$5 (for two people)
Total: ~$48

First to arrive was the Burrata Pizza, featuring a crispy yet chewy wood-fired crust generously topped with fresh, creamy burrata cheese.

Tear off a piece of the crust, pile on some soft cheese and rich tomato sauce, and you'll be treated to a burst of savory flavor in every bite.

And now, for the highlight of our meal: the Amatriciana!

The deep, savory aroma and salty richness of the crisply rendered guanciale perfectly complemented the tangy tomato sauce, all beautifully absorbed by the perfectly al dente pasta.
This Amatriciana was, without a doubt, one of the most profound and moving pasta dishes I tasted during my entire trip to Rome.

Overall Verdict
✅ Easily accessible location, just a short walk from Termini Station.
✅ Rich, flavorful Amatriciana pasta with authentic guanciale.
✅ Excellent combination of chewy wood-fired dough and fresh burrata cheese.
If you're near Rome's Termini Station and craving a satisfying, authentic local meal, I wholeheartedly recommend stopping by REbasilico!
