Among Porto's many acclaimed wineries,
Taylor’s Port stands out as a historic and prestigious institution, founded all the way back in 1692!
Our accommodation was only about a 15-20 minute walk away, so we decided to stroll there. While the hill was quite steep, it just added to the authentic Porto charm and atmosphere.

While I heard it's possible to book directly on-site, I didn't want to risk not getting our preferred time or having our travel plans disrupted, so I opted for pre-booking.
Being able to choose our exact tour time made planning our itinerary much smoother.

3. Taylor's Winery Tour Experience
After ascending the steep hill, Taylor's Winery comes into view!
This is the reception area.
There was plenty to explore even around the reception area!
The main tour began!
We entered the massive oak barrel storage cellar!
The moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by the distinct, rich aroma of aging port wine.
The audio guide provided detailed explanations, covering everything from the history of wine-making to the intricate production process. We followed it diligently throughout the tour.
It was fascinating to learn how wine is made! This wasn't just a visual tour; hearing the stories behind the wine made the experience even more engaging and enjoyable!
4. Wine Tasting Experience
After the tour, it was finally time for the much-anticipated tasting session!
So exciting!
And guess what? We got to enjoy it in this beautifully blooming garden!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was absolutely gorgeous... the ambiance was just perfect!
The three-wine tasting set officially began.

The staff member was incredibly friendly and explained each wine in English.
Even if you're not a wine expert, listening to the explanations made the tasting so much more enjoyable and easier to understand!
We tried two red wines and one white wine.
Everyone had their favorite, of course – it's all about personal preference! 🙃
Looking at the menu, we decided it would be a shame to just drink wine, so we ordered some snacks.
It was a simple biscuit with some cheese spread – I can't recall the exact name, but that cheese... oh my, it was incredibly delicious! Seriously!
Enjoying wine on a beautiful day, without a care in the world – isn't this what heaven feels like?
And right next door, at the shop, we even bought a bottle of wine! My father was kind enough to treat us... so grateful! 🧡
And the perfect end to our day on the way back?......................
