and the Douro River, perfect for enjoying sunsets and nightscapes,

are all popular must-see attractions in Porto.

To explore these spots on foot,

the city center around São Bento Station

is the best location for accommodation.

What's more, Porto is famous for its cobblestone streets and hills, so it's not just about how close it is to the station,

but also about the path you'll take to the hotel with heavy luggage.

That's why when I was choosing accommodation,

I also considered the ease of getting from Porto Airport to the city center

and how manageable it would be to walk with my luggage

on the day we'd be transferring to Lisbon.

(Yes, I'm a total planner!)

Among hotels located around São Bento Station, ideal for walking tours, and with high cleanliness scores,

I meticulously read reviews across various platforms

and narrowed it down to these three options:

All three are 4-star hotels located in the heart of Porto's city center,

and they all generally received excellent cleanliness reviews.

They're all just a 3-4 minute walk to São Bento Station, so there wasn't a huge difference in location.

However, there were differences in room conditions and facilities.

and, of course, the breakfast!

If a spotless room and a fantastic breakfast are high on your priority list,

this place should definitely be at the top of your consideration!

it feels like the focus is on rooms where you can

**relax comfortably after sightseeing**.

What particularly caught my eye were the

**breakfast operating hours**, allowing you to enjoy a leisurely morning meal:

**Weekdays (Mon-Fri):** 7 AM - 11 AM,

**Weekends & Public Holidays:** 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM

For those who like to **start their mornings at a relaxed pace**,

this seems perfect!

I also found positive reviews about the

The biggest advantages of Mercure are

its **relatively spacious standard rooms** and

**diverse facilities**.

The standard Classic Room starts from 24㎡,

featuring a **larger room size**

compared to the other two hotels.

Beyond just double and twin rooms,

you can choose from various room types,

including garden view rooms and

Privilege Rooms with balconies.

Most notably, it's the only one of the three hotels to feature

a **seasonal outdoor heated swimming pool and a**

**fitness center**.

There's also an **outdoor garden** connected to the hotel's ground floor **terrace**,

making it perfect for relaxing leisurely at the hotel

after a day of sightseeing.

We recommend this hotel to those who prioritize

**ample room space and facilities**.

When booking, make sure to look for

**'Aliados'** in the name

to avoid confusion with other Mercure hotels.
