With its fantastic location for

walking to Porto's main attractions,

and spacious, clean rooms,

my partner and I were incredibly satisfied

with our 3-night stay here-!

As a 'Power J' (someone who loves meticulous planning), before booking our accommodation,

I thoroughly researched reviews across various platforms.

Especially since Porto is known for its many hills and cobblestone streets,

it was crucial to check if it was convenient for pulling our luggage

when traveling between the airport and São Bento Station.

Here's why we loved our stay so much:

PortoBay Teatro's Location: Why It Was Perfect for Walking Tours

Hotel Teatro is located

in the Baixa district, the heart of Porto's city center,

situated between Bolhão Station and São Bento Station.

📍 Hotel ↔ São Bento Station: 3-minute walk

📍 Hotel ↔ Bolhão Station: 8-minute walk

It's a fantastic spot for exploring Porto's main city attractions on foot,

and incredibly convenient whether you're arriving from the airport

or heading off to Lisbon!

Looking at the map,

to the northeast of the hotel is Bolhão Market,

to the west, you'll find Lello Bookstore and

Clérigos Church,

to the south are São Bento Station and Porto Cathedral,

and further south, the Dom Luís I Bridge and

the Douro Riverfront.

What's more, we also visited

the Graham's Winery in Vila Nova de Gaia, just across the Douro River.🍷

Being able to group several must-visit attractions

around our accommodation

made its location ideal for exploring.

For us, as travelers who prefer to walk,

this accommodation was absolutely perfect!✨

PortoBay Teatro: Room & Bathroom Cleanliness Review

We were assigned a room on the 6th floor,

the highest floor available.

The elevator was also spotless.

The bed was clean and plush, making it

the perfect place to relax

after a full day of exploring-!

It felt spacious enough for two people, never cramped,

and there was ample space to open our suitcases.

Both the room and bathroom were pristine,

and we didn't encounter any bugs during our stay,

so we were thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness!✨

The sink, toilet, and shower area

The spaces were separate,

and the bathroom was also spacious and comfortable to use.

A hairdryer was also provided.

However, at first, there was no hot water,

so I asked the reception,

and they resolved it immediately.

It turned out that you had to turn the faucet like in the picture

for the hot water to come out properly,

and their quick and kind response

really stuck with me.

On the table, there were

complimentary bottled water and welcome chocolates,

along with an electric kettle, cups, a safe, and a mini-fridge.

Even high-quality,

thick disposable slippers were provided—a real treat!

These days, many European hotels

don't offer disposable slippers,

so having them was a pleasant surprise and something I really appreciated.

During room cleaning,

they refilled the bottled water,

which was very convenient throughout our stay.

Overall, the room service was truly satisfying!🤍

Porto Hotel Teatro: Price Comparison for Booking

The room we booked was

the Gallery Room.

When I made the reservation,

Agoda offered the best price.

Even for the same room type,

prices vary depending on when you check,

so make sure to

enter your travel dates and check the current prices!

Among the three sites I compared this time,

Agoda was once again the most affordable.

Luggage Storage Before Check-in, Explore First and Come Back

On the day we arrived at the hotel,

we got there earlier than the check-in time,

but early check-in wasn't available that day.

Instead, we left our luggage at the hotel,

went sightseeing around Porto,

and returned just in time for check-in.

From the Airport to Bolhão Station, and from São Bento Station when Heading to Lisbon

We flew from Seville

with Ryanair

and arrived at Porto Airport.

To save a bit on transportation costs,

we took Metro Line E

and got off at Bolhão Station.

Although São Bento Station is

closer to the hotel,

we heard it was an uphill walk from there,

so we chose Bolhão Station, which was

easier to navigate with luggage.

From Bolhão Station to the hotel, it was mostly

flat and downhill,

about an 8-minute walk.

The journey was much easier than we expected!

In hilly Porto,

it's not just about the distance from the station,

And on the day we were heading to Lisbon,

it was super convenient to start our train journey

right from the nearby São Bento Station!
