Hello everyone! Ddakkugi here 🕊️

Today, I'm thrilled to introduce you to

the charming accommodation where I stayed

for three days in Southern Italy!

When I visited,

it was during Ferragosto,

Italy's biggest holiday season, so

finding a room was incredibly challenging 😭

This is the place I found while prioritizing

"self-catering accommodation" above all else!

I especially recommend it to couples

who love to cook with fresh local ingredients!

I know there's fierce competition to book accommodations

with views of Polignano a Mare's most famous beach,

but I want to assure you that you can absolutely

enjoy those stunning views from the viewpoints as well!

If your trip is coming up soon,

don't worry if you can't get *that* specific place;

you'll still have an amazing time enjoying beautiful Polignano a Mare! Haha

which was even prettier and more fulfilling than I expected!

Location & Accessibility

📍B&B Angolo Manzoni

Via Manzoni, 14, 70044 Polignano a Mare BA, Italy

When choosing accommodation, location was definitely my top priority!

This place isn't far from the train station,

which made it super convenient for walking with luggage!

It's all within walking distance.

Polignano a Mare itself isn't very big,

so everything was easily accessible on foot!

The old town was just a short stroll

from the B&B, so

I could pop out to enjoy the sea views multiple times a day

without feeling tired at all!

There's also a great supermarket nearby for groceries,

and a cafe right in front of the B&B

selling delicious coffee and pastries –

perfect for your morning coffee fix! ☕

Check-in Process

I booked through Booking.com, and

check-in was self-service.

I received instructions via WhatsApp beforehand,

so checking in was seamless.

It was an easy key check-in, and

the address matched what was provided, so I checked in without any issues.

When booking B&Bs or Airbnbs in Europe,

one thing that can secretly cause stress is whether there's an elevator.

Fortunately, this accommodation is

located on the ground floor, which made

moving luggage incredibly easy!

Dragging a suitcase around Polignano a Mare

wasn't too difficult overall.

✅City Tax

Upon checkout, I paid an additional

city tax of 2 euros per person per night,

totaling 8 euros for two nights.

Room Review (Room Type)

The room I stayed in for three days had a

clean and cozy atmosphere overall!

I'll share an honest breakdown of the pros and cons

based on my personal experience.

First off,

I loved that it looked exactly like the photos!

The ceiling was quite high.

👍 What I Loved

✅Immaculate Bedding

The bedding was perfectly clean and fresh,

ensuring a wonderfully comfortable sleep.

✅Excellent Drainage

You know how European bathrooms sometimes drain so slowly, it drives you crazy?

Here, the bathroom drainage was super efficient, with water gushing down,

making for a really refreshing shower! 🚿

✅Kitchen

Controlling the heat on the stove was easy,

the range hood worked quite well,

and it was equipped with most of the necessary kitchenware.

While I was a little disappointed there was no cutting board or wine glasses,

we had brought our own camping wine glasses,

so we were all good! 😉

🥲 Minor Downsides

✅No Window Screens

Without window screens, I was a bit hesitant to open the windows wide,

making it hard to open them freely for ventilation.

Still, if we opened them slightly during the day, it ventilated quickly.

We did have a bit of a battle with mosquitoes.

✅Mattress Quality

The mattress was a bit on the springy side, haha.

It had a bit of a bounce.

For those who are very particular about their bed,

it might be a slight disappointment.

But considering the price,

it was perfectly fine.

The positives, like its cleanliness, kitchen, and location,

far outweighed the negatives,

so we had a comfortable stay without any major inconveniences.

The Highlight of This Accommodation: The Striking Red Kitchen 🍅

The biggest reason I booked this place!

It was definitely the kitchen with cooking facilities! 🍳

The kitchen was incredibly vibrant and

had a striking, pop red color that really left an impression.

The colors were so beautiful that I took photos of the cooking process,

and the pictures turned out great!

The dining table lighting, however, was a little less ideal. haha

At a nearby supermarket,

we bought plenty of fresh seafood from Southern Italy,

and cooked it right in our room.

Not only was it incredibly fresh, but it was also absolutely delicious! 🦐🍷

You definitely have to visit the pescheria (fish market) yourself! 😉

The kitchen facilities were quite good,

so we made excellent use of them for all three days of our stay.

Price Comparison & Booking Tips

Even though it was the Ferragosto period in August, when many Italians take their holidays,

and accommodation was scarce,

considering the location and cooking facilities,

it was an excellent choice!

As this is a B&B type hotel,

it wasn't listed on platforms like Agoda,

but only on Booking.com!

Local Sightseeing Tips

Since the accommodation is close to the old town,

whether it was late in the evening or early in the morning,

we could simply pop out anytime

and soak in the romantic atmosphere of Polignano a Mare.

Starting the day with delicious coffee at the cafe in front of our accommodation,

and in the evening, with seafood we bought from the market,

we enjoyed a fantastic dinner – what a perfect three days!

With great accessibility to the old town,

and if you're looking for a charming self-catering accommodation where you can save on food costs,

I truly recommend 'B&B Angolo Manzoni'! 👍
