Thanks to a bit of jet lag, in Polignano a Mare
I was able to catch the beautiful sunrise every day.
It was fascinating to see so many cafes already open by 6 AM!
Italy truly is an incredible place to travel :)

While there might be a wait at the cafe,
the turnover is quite fast.
Even if the line looks long, it's definitely worth the wait!
✅Menu Highlights
Special Coffee (Caffè Speciale)
Shakerato
Gelato
One visit, and you'll understand why it's so popular.
This is a truly authentic local spot,
sought out by residents from early morning!

Exterior
Nestled in a corner of the square, its classic
and vintage European facade exudes charm.

There are also outdoor terrace seats,
perfect for enjoying on a nice day.
Interior

Stepping inside, you'll find
tables and a bar that feel both a little rustic and incredibly atmospheric.
For a cafe, there were quite a few staff members working inside.
A clear sign of its popularity!

The bar counter buzzes with locals
standing and enjoying their coffee,
immersing you in that distinctly vibrant Italian atmosphere.
What We Ordered
Special Coffee (Caffè Speciale)
This is their signature menu item!

It's an alcohol-infused coffee,
and since it's known for 'cooling you down,' I initially expected it to be cold.
So, I was quite surprised when it arrived piping hot!
But with just one sip,
the zesty citrus aroma (like calamansi or lemon zest)
and a delightful kick of alcohol hit me.
It's truly amazing how, despite being a hot coffee,
it somehow leaves you feeling incredibly refreshed and cool.

It was absolutely delicious!
It felt like all the travel fatigue melted away,
you absolutely have to try it.
Shakerato
After a hot drink, it was time for something cool!

The Shakerato, made by vigorously shaking espresso with ice,
was a refreshing treat – especially since truly cold drinks
can sometimes be a rarity, but this was perfectly cool and tasty.
While some places might serve it with ice,
here it's presented like a cocktail, without any cubes.

However, the Special Coffee
definitely held the more unique and memorable flavor.
Gelato is also a popular item here.
✅Gelato
The name 'Gelo' in the establishment's title actually means 'ice' in Italian,
which makes sense!
I saw some people buying large tubs, like a family-sized portion from an ice cream parlor,
which made me a little envious, haha.
We just had two scoops and both flavors were absolutely delicious.
