Looking at the September 2026 forecast as a reference,
high temperatures are mostly around 30–32°C (86–90°F),
and it tends to be quite humid due to the frequent rain.

During my actual trips,
there were definitely some cloudy or rainy days,
but overall,
we had way more sunny days than rainy ones!
👉 Since sudden showers are common
and you might occasionally get a full day of rain,
it's highly recommended to pack an umbrella or a light poncho
whenever you have outdoor activities planned.
Is Phu Quoc in September Still Worth Visiting Despite the Rainy Season?
📍Phu Quoc, Vietnam
From my experience,
it is absolutely worth it!
Having traveled to Phu Quoc several times in September,
I've experienced everything from heavy rainfall
to perfectly sunny beach days.

Sure, there were days when it rained non-stop,
but most of the time, the rain would dump down heavily for just a bit
and then clear right up.
When a shower hit, we'd just pop into a cozy cafe for a drink,
or sometimes we'd just keep walking in the light rain,
and before we knew it, the sun was back out.
There were even times when the sun was shining bright in a blue sky
and a few stray raindrops would fall before disappearing just as quickly.

Once, while having dinner at an outdoor table,
it suddenly started pouring, so we moved to an indoor table.
Just 10 minutes after moving, the rain completely stopped!

While September in Phu Quoc does bring its share of rainy days,
the showers are usually short and sweet,
meaning it won't put a damper on your travel plans!
👉 When traveling to Phu Quoc in September,
sudden rain showers can catch you off guard.
So if you're planning water sports like snorkeling or island hopping tours,
I highly recommend checking the weather forecast in advance!
Can you swim at the water park on a rainy day in September Phu Quoc?
📍 Phu Quoc, Vietnam
In fact, when we headed over to the Aquatopia Water Park
on Hon Thom Island,
it pretty much rained all day long.

But as long as there's no thunder and lightning,
it stays open even in the rain!
Most of the water slides were up and running, too.

The rain meant fewer crowds
and cooler temperatures,
which actually made our water park adventure so much more fun than we expected!
