nights that are just as vibrant as the sunny beaches.

Phu Quoc features several night markets spread across different areas,

each offering a unique vibe. Visiting at least one or two of them

is an absolute must for your itinerary.

I'll compare the 3 essential night markets

to help you plan your perfect Phu Quoc adventure.

If you’ve been planning your Phu Quoc getaway and thinking,

"Is it really worth going out of my way to visit a night market?"

make sure to read this to the end.

While Phu Quoc is famous for its gorgeous daytime beaches, luxury resorts,

and island-hopping tours,

the island transforms into a completely different world after dark.

And the absolute hub of that evening energy is the night market.

Phu Quoc's night markets are

so much more than just places to buy souvenirs and eat street food.

They offer an authentic taste of local life, lively crowds,

and Vietnam's incredible street food culture—

making them a true highlight of your travels.

Because each market has its own distinct personality,

visiting just one is never enough.

Today, I'll walk you through my experience visiting

Phu Quoc’s 3 major night markets (Duong Dong, Sonasea, and the Southern Sunset Town)

including their unique highlights and my favorite local bites.

2. Duong Dong Night Market — A Peanut Lover's Paradise!

Located right in the heart of central Phu Quoc,

Duong Dong Night Market is the largest

and easily the most famous market on the island.

Because of its scale and popularity with tourists,

the streets are lined with countless food stalls and souvenir shops.

This means you can easily check off shopping, dinner, and a massage

all in one spot!

The absolute signature treat here is the flavored peanuts.

As soon as you walk through the entrance, you might get a bit overwhelmed

by vendors handing out free peanut samples at every turn!

But take one bite, and you'll understand why everyone loves them.

If you love addictive, sweet-and-savory roasted nuts,

"You absolutely cannot miss the peanuts at Duong Dong Night Market!"

With over 30 different flavors including caramel, green tea, coconut, and chocolate,

they are cheap, delicious, and make the perfect souvenirs.

I also stopped to get a quick massage here.

Getting a 1-hour foot massage for 200,000 VND

(which is around ~$6) is an absolute steal!

Plus, this market has the cheapest fresh fruit around!

Be sure to stock up on fresh mangoes and mangosteens

before heading back to your resort!

3. Sonasea Night Market — Right in front of Best Western and Novotel.

The second spot on our list is none other than...

located in the south-central region of Phu Quoc,

the Sonasea Night Market!

This spot is just a 20-minute Grab ride away

from Duong Dong Market,

and it's located right in front of the Best Western Hotel and Novotel

where I stayed!

It was perfect for a casual evening stroll every night,

and it felt much cleaner and more comfortable than Duong Dong.

While it's smaller than Duong Dong,

you can still soak up that authentic local vibe,

and there are plenty of clean, delicious seafood restaurants scattered around.

I highly recommend Mr. Seafood, the place I visited this time,

as you can enjoy fresh, budget-friendly seafood.

Plus, they have air-conditioning indoors!!

If you order a main dish, fried rice, morning glory (water spinach),

mango, and kimchi are served as free sides!

If you want to catch a glimpse of the local vibe near your hotel,

take a casual stroll over to Sonasea Night Market!

4. Sunset Town Southern Night Market - Pair with Hon Thom Island & Kiss of the Sea

📍Location: 22P3+65M, An Thới, Phú Quốc, Kiên Giang, Vietnam

⏰Hours: Daily 4:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Hon Thom Island Cable Car & Water Park

This market is perfectly located for a stop

right after you visit the Hon Thom Island Cable Car & Water Park.

Most travelers like to bundle these into a daily itinerary:

It's the ultimate South Phu Quoc route!

While it's the smallest of the three night markets,

it's also the newest,

making it the cleanest and most modern by far.

They even host live street dance performances from time to time,

which really brings the whole place to life!

It's so much fun to just stand and watch.

If you're hunting for a must-eat food in South Phu Quoc,

you absolutely have to try this one dish:

Fried Yeonpo Crab!

Yeonpo crab is a local Phu Quoc specialty—

it's a type of crab with a super thin shell! 🦀🦀

Because they fry the crab whole,

and the shell is so thin,

it's incredibly easy to eat without any hardness.

It's crispy on the outside, and burst-in-your-mouth juicy with rich crab tomalley on the inside.

If you're a fan of crab,

you're absolutely going to fall in love with this!!

After eating your way through the market,

the entrance leads you directly to the Kiss Bridge.

You can walk right over from there to watch the show!

was easily one of my absolute favorite experiences

of my entire Phu Quoc trip, so please don't miss it!
