While preparing for our Phu Quoc trip with two kids,

we booked our accommodation at Movenpick Resort!

Our first trip to Phu Quoc was also to celebrate our second child's first birthday, and a thought suddenly crossed my mind!

You know how some hotels or resorts offer small events for birthdays or anniversaries.

I wondered, would Movenpick do something similar?

Well, they wouldn't just know if I waited, so I decided to send an email first.

And to cut to the chase,

I'm so glad I asked!!

Movenpick actually prepared a small birthday cake for us, and the kids loved it more than I expected~!

It might seem like a small thing,

but on family trips with kids,

a little event like this can create lasting memories!

I Sent an Email Directly to Movenpick for Our First Birthday Trip

At first, it was really simple.

I wrote that it was our second child's first birthday trip and asked if the resort could provide any special event.

But while I was at it,

I also asked about everything else I was curious about, traveling with two kids.

If early morning check-in was possible,

if baby cribs or bed rails were available,

if there were any kids' programs suitable for our 6-year-old first child,

if there were shuttles to Vinpearl Safari and the night market,

even about babysitters and floating menus.

Looking back now,

I really did ask all my burning questions efficiently.

You might think you need to write English perfectly,

but translation tools are so good these days, aren't they?! Haha.

I just wrote what I was curious about in Korean

and copy-pasted it as is.

Here's how I phrased the birthday event inquiry:

It's my daughter's first birthday trip.

If you have an event, please provide it.

This is how I wrote and sent all the necessary requests together.

When traveling internationally with kids,

it's so much more relaxing to confirm things via email before departure

rather than asking one by one on-site!!

But I Didn't Get an Immediate Reply About the Birthday Event

I sent the email and received a reply,

but it wasn't what I had expected.

The reply stated that they needed to confirm the booking details first and asked for the

reservation number, lead guest's name,

and room type.

I had written down the stay dates and room type,

so I naturally thought they'd be able to confirm,

but it turned out I hadn't included the reservation number.

Here's a tip for sending it all in one go!

If you have anything to ask Movenpick after booking, make sure to include the

Reservation Number / Booker's English Name / Stay Dates / Room Type

right from the start.

Don't send the same email twice like I did!

I Sent It Again with the Reservation Number

So this time,

I added the reservation number at the top of the email and sent it again.

The rest of the content was exactly the same as my initial inquiry.

After I sent it with the reservation number this time,

Movenpick confirmed our booking details and sent replies to each and every one of my questions.

And there was also a reply about the birthday event,

which I was most curious about.

Movenpick Birthday Event: A Free Cake?

Looking at the reply I received from Movenpick,

they had confirmed our booked pool access room and

the number of guests,

They also sent a detailed response regarding the birthday event!

According to the information I received,

if your child's birthday actually falls within your stay,

all you need to do is show their passport at the front desk when you check in,

and the resort will happily prepare

a small complimentary cake as a special birthday treat.

Here's a super important point to remember!

Simply stating,

“This trip is a birthday celebration!”

doesn't automatically qualify everyone for a free cake.

The response I got back then specified

the condition that it had to be the actual birthday during the stay,

and they also mentioned the need for passport verification.

Since event details and conditions can change,

it's always best for anyone heading to Movenpick to confirm directly

with them after booking to get the most up-to-date and accurate information.

But for us?

A real cake appeared!

It wasn't just an email reply –

they actually prepared a lovely little birthday cake for us during our trip!

I wasn't exactly expecting some grand birthday bash

when I reached out.

It was our child's first birthday trip, so I just thought,

'Wouldn't it be lovely if there was even a small event?'

I just sent a quick email, but seeing the cake in person,

I was so glad I did!

It was incredibly convenient for us, traveling with two little ones,

not having to scout around for a cake or head out to buy one – the resort took care of it all!

But honestly, even better than the cake itself was seeing the kids' reactions!

Imagine a cake suddenly appearing during

*their* vacation – of course they were absolutely thrilled!

For us adults, it might seem like a small gesture, but for the kids,

it truly felt like a special event added to their trip,

creating beautiful memories and photos to look back on.

From Baby Cots to Kids' Programs – They Answered Everything!

Movenpick replied to all my questions!

Beyond just the birthday event, Movenpick also sent detailed responses

to the other questions I had inquired about.

At the time, they informed me that bed guards weren't available,

but they *could* provide a complimentary baby cot for children under 2 years old

upon request.

I also received separate, helpful information regarding the Little Bird Club program

and their babysitting services.

They even sent a link where I could check out the floating breakfast menu!

So, if you're planning a Movenpick getaway with a toddler or young child,

I highly recommend inquiring about any specific needs *before* your arrival,

right after you book, rather than waiting until check-in.

After all, what you need can vary quite a bit depending on your child's age!

I Even Asked About the Night Market Shuttle!

I also inquired about transportation options.

Based on the response we received during our visit,

Movenpick didn't have its *own* shuttle service directly

to VinWonders and Safari.

Instead, at the Movenpick entrance at the time,

there was a VinBus heading towards Grand World.

For the resort shuttle to Duong Dong Night Market, we were informed it was

40,000 dong per adult for a one-way trip.

However, please note that this information was current at the time of my inquiry,

so routes and fares might have changed since then.

If you're planning to use a shuttle,

it's definitely most accurate to inquire directly with Movenpick about this,

along with your other questions, after you've made your booking.

We ended up booking a pool access room with breakfast included,

and let me tell you, being able to swim right outside our room

made staying with two kids incredibly convenient and enjoyable!

Movenpick really shines with its fantastic breakfast, amazing pools, beautiful beach,

and even unique programs like 'Chocolate Hour'! For families like ours,

who love to spend a day just eating, playing, and relaxing at the resort

without a packed sightseeing schedule, it was absolutely perfect for enjoying the property itself.

If you're still in the booking phase, don't just consider standard rooms!

Make sure to compare prices for rooms that include breakfast

and those with pool access as well.
