Flying Jin Air to Phu Quoc? This 2026 review from Incheon Terminal 2 shares essential airport tips, baggage perks, and what to expect for your smooth journey to Vietnam.
Incheon Airport - Phu Quoc Airport
Jin Air Flight Review
Fresh off the plane, here's a piping hot review
written after returning from a summer vacation
to Phu Quoc, Vietnam!
It's been ages since I last flew Jin Air,
but overall, I was really satisfied!
Since Jin Air is an affiliate of Korean Air,
you can board from Incheon Airport Terminal 2.
(Jin Air at Incheon Airport Terminal 2)
Make sure to double-check your terminal so you don't get confused!
To avoid the peak summer season (late July to early August),
I planned my Phu Quoc trip for mid-July,
and sure enough, Incheon Airport wasn't crowded at all.
Even when I browsed the duty-free shops after immigration,
it wasn't overly crowded, and the lounge was spacious.
When I tried to use the lounge for my honeymoon,
it was too crowded, and I couldn't get in.
This time, the lounge was almost empty,
but when I tried to use it, I hadn't met my credit card's spending requirements
so I sadly couldn't. (Bummer!)
Mobile check-in opened one day before departure,
and I easily completed it!
I snagged my flight tickets at a great price when Jin Air had a special promotion earlier this year.
The best part about Jin Air is that checked baggage is included!

After enjoying some long-awaited duty-free shopping,
I headed to the gate just in time for departure.
Since it's Incheon Airport Terminal 2,
I saw a lot of Korean Air planes.
The flight time isn't too long, so the plane was small,
making the Jin Air plane look quite cute!
We departed right on time, with no delays!

The seats on the Jin Air plane weren't super spacious.
For an adult male over 180cm (approx. 5'11"),
their legs would almost touch the seat in front.
Still, it was manageable.
However, there was a feature I hadn't seen on other planes:
a phone holder!
You can press down on the top of the seatback in front of you,
and it becomes a stand for your phone.
This made it super convenient to watch dramas throughout the flight.
Since the flight to Phu Quoc is over 5 hours,
I couldn't resist my craving and ordered some snacks inflight, haha!
I ordered shrimp crackers, Yegam chips, beer, and a highball.
Enjoying these little treats mid-flight was very satisfying!
(The prices were a bit steep, but the fun of eating them on a plane makes it worth it!)
As we were nearing Phu Quoc,
it was nighttime, and it was lightly raining.
The Jin Air landing was wonderfully smooth!
As soon as I got off the plane, I felt the humid air,
which was a bit muggy, but it was actually cooler than Korea,
so I was quite pleased.
The immigration line at Phu Quoc, Vietnam,
was a bit long, and waiting was a little challenging,
but it was manageable.
Phu Quoc sees many visitors with young children or families,
so if you'd rather not wait in long lines,
I highly recommend using the Phu Quoc Fast Track service.
After all, if you have young kids with you,
waiting patiently isn't always easy!
Peak Time, a well-known company in Phu Quoc, Vietnam,
offers the Phu Quoc Fast Track service,
and I highly recommend it because the price offers incredible value!

Phu Quoc Airport itself is quite small, which made finding our bags and exiting super convenient.
I think there were only about three baggage claim carousels?
Just so you know, near the baggage claim, you'll find plenty of local services like currency exchange and SIM card vendors.

One thing that surprised me at Phu Quoc Airport was that after picking up our luggage, we had to go through another baggage inspection 😅.
I wondered why there was another line after getting our suitcases, but it turns out you have to get your bags scanned to exit.

Once you're out after the baggage check, you'll immediately find the area for taxis and pre-booked pickup vehicles.
As soon as you exit, you'll see many options like the Peaktime Lounge and other travel tour offerings.

After clearing baggage inspection and exiting Phu Quoc Airport, if you look to your right, you'll spot stairs leading upstairs.
Right under the stairs, you'll find a BIDV ATM (Phu Quoc Airport ATM location).
For Travelog cardholders, BIDV offers fee-free UnionPay card transactions.
Remember, there are two types of Travelog cards, so make sure yours is UnionPay, not Mastercard, to avoid fees!
You'll easily find BIDV ATMs all over Phu Quoc, so no worries about cash withdrawals.
If a QR code appears on the ATM screen, just wait a moment, and it will return to the main menu.
Simply insert your card first to withdraw cash (and yes, Korean language is available!).

With our Vietnamese Dong withdrawals complete, it was time to head to our pre-booked accommodation!
Since we were just a couple, we didn't specifically book a pickup, but if you want to travel in comfort, a private car pickup service is super convenient and highly recommended.
If you're traveling with family, especially with parents or kids, this is absolutely recommended!
Especially if you have a lot of luggage and people, Grab taxis might be a bit challenging. Opting for a Phu Quoc Airport pickup, which can accommodate up to 10 adults, is a fantastic option.

Phu Quoc Airport has only one exit, so finding the Peaktime desk is incredibly easy; they even hold up a sign, making it impossible to miss!
A car will be waiting for you right outside the airport, so you can enjoy a super comfortable ride directly to your accommodation – good to know!
We arrived at Phu Quoc Airport at night, so we just headed straight to our accommodation to unpack and rest. But if you arrive in the morning, you might find yourself with some awkward time until check-in.
If you're burdened with lots of luggage and find yourself with a tricky gap in your schedule, there's also a convenient morning tour you can easily join right after arriving at Phu Quoc Airport in the morning. I'll leave a link for your reference!
