Phu Quoc Dusit Princess Moonrise Beach Resort

I recently visited Phu Quoc, Vietnam, after quite some time.
It seems like I end up going there once a year, except for when the COVID-19 pandemic was at its peak.
While I usually go with friends,
this time it was a family trip.
If you're looking for a quiet accommodation perfect for family time,
away from the bustling VinWonders or Vinpearl that many Koreans often visit,
then this detailed review, complete with tips for accommodation discounts,
will be perfect for you! :)
From Phu Quoc Airport to the Hotel
A flight of about 2 hours from Hanoi
will land you
at Phu Quoc Airport.
The Dusit Princess Moonrise Beach Resort,
which I visited this time,
is located about a 15-minute drive from the airport.
📍 Dusit Princess Moonrise beach resort
Street, Group 2, Tran Hung Dao, Village, Cửa Lấp, Phú Quốc, Kiên Giang, Vietnam
📍 Phú Quốc International Airport
Nguyễn Trường Tộ, Tổ 2, Tp. Phú Quốc, Kiên Giang, Vietnam

Perhaps because it belongs to Thailand's Dusit Group,
the hotel's interior design subtly exuded a Thai ambiance
throughout the hotel.
Hotel Check-in
While waiting for check-in,
this is the view you get looking out from the lobby
towards the pool and the sea.

A refreshing welcome tea was served while I filled out the check-in forms!
The temperature that day was close to 40 degrees Celsius, so it was incredibly hot.
Drinking the slightly sweet welcome tea made me feel so much fresher.

Walking straight out from the lobby, the accommodations are divided
into left and right wings, centered around the swimming pool.
The pool view, unfortunately, was a bit disappointing
due to the heavy overcast clouds, but oh well...!

To the left are the main accommodation facilities and the breakfast restaurant (Palm Kitchen).

To the right, you'll find
convenience facilities like the kids' café, gym, and spa,
along with a bar and Thai restaurant (soi 14)
offering sea views.
After a quick stroll around to explore, it was already time for check-in!
I immediately got the keys and headed to our booked room.

Since this trip was to celebrate my parents' birthdays,
I had inquired in advance about available services and requested
a small slice of cake (complimentary) and wine (for a fee).
I hadn't expected such a thoughtful gesture as writing a celebratory message
on the bed using palm leaves!
Even though we were tired after arriving on an early morning flight,
my parents absolutely loved it.
Hotel Amenities
Shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel were provided in the bathroom.
However, there was no bar soap, only hand wash.
As someone who prefers bar soap, I was a bit taken aback ㅠ.
I even called the lobby, but they confirmed they didn't have any, which was a little disappointing.

I had pre-ordered a sweet white wine,
and it was served with a perfectly paired chocolate slice cake,
along with glasses for everyone in our party.
The bottle was placed in an ice bucket,
keeping it perfectly chilled until we finished it.
Hotel Facilities

After our lively chat session,
it was time to explore the hotel's facilities!
I always make it a point to visit the gym when I'm at a hotel, so this time too,
I headed straight for the fitness center.
Treadmills, bikes, Smith machines,
bench press machines, lat pulldown machines, and more –
it was well-equipped with almost all the standard gym equipment.
Of course, I prefer free weights, so haha,
I did some light squats and ab exercises with dumbbells.
The entire front wall was glass, which was great for checking my form,
and with floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides, the view felt incredibly open.

Right after my workout, I stepped out and suddenly it started pouring rain... haha.
The wind was so strong that
the pool water was actually churning like waves.
I decided to head back to the room, rest a bit, and then come out again.
Ocean View in Front of the Accommodation, Watching the Sunset
After about 2-3 hours, the rain stopped,
and it transformed back into that hot, humid Southeast Asian weather.

And then, a magical sunset.
The blue sky transitioned through purple, red, and finally yellow,
and the changing colors were truly breathtaking.
Perhaps because it was a weekday, there weren't many people,
so it felt like we had the entire beach to ourselves.
Dinner at Soi14, the Hotel Restaurant

This family vacation was a celebration for my parents' birthdays and a summer getaway all rolled into one,
our first family gathering in a long while.
Since the weather wasn't great, we decided to have dinner
at Soi14, the hotel's Thai restaurant.

It had a nice balance of sweet and spicy flavors,
and the spice level wasn't too overwhelming, even my parents enjoyed it thoroughly.

All the dishes were delicious, but
the squid dish
and the one with steak were particularly good.

From familiar Thai dishes like Pad Thai, Tom Yum Goong, pineapple fried rice, and mango sticky rice,
to unique options like a squid soup or hotpot?

By the time we finished eating and left, the sun had already set and it was dark.
Dusit Princess Hotel Breakfast
The next morning, I woke up early
and was at the breakfast buffet right when it opened at 6:30 AM.

All the dishes were meticulously arranged.
Just like in many Vietnamese hotels,
a chef was stationed at one corner,
ready to make omelets, scrambled eggs, or other egg dishes
and pho fresh on demand.

As expected from a Thai-branded hotel, there were unique dishes like Pad Thai,
and Thai-style curry.

It was a touch on the sweeter side, but seeing kimchi on the menu tells me
this spot is definitely popular with Korean travelers!

The next morning, the clouds had cleared, revealing a glorious, sunny pool view!
And check out that absolutely stunning sea shimmering in the distance.
It was the perfect hotel for unwinding and leisurely starting
the next chapter of our adventure.
