a famous spot near Ben Thanh Market called Pho 2000.
Honestly, Pho 2000 is actually better known for its spring rolls,
but today I'm going to introduce you to a Ho Chi Minh City gem that serves mind-blowingly delicious pho.
It's also super close to Bui Vien Street,
making it the perfect spot to cure a hangover after a night out in Bui Vien.
So, get ready for Pho Quynh, a must-visit restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City's District 1!

Exterior and Interior.
Just a short walk from Bui Vien Street, you'll discover Pho Quynh, a renowned pho spot in Ho Chi Minh City.
It's so popular that if you've ever searched for great eats in Ho Chi Minh City, you've probably heard of it!
Honestly, it's pretty much an open-air restaurant, just like many others here,
without much distinction between the inside and outside.
Since it's open 24 hours, you can visit anytime you like,
but my top recommendation for visiting is during the cool evening hours!
It's the perfect time to drop by, especially if you're looking for that ultimate hangover cure after a fun night out in Bui Vien.
I first tried it on my last Ho Chi Minh City trip and loved it so much that I just had to stop by again this time!
Menu
Pho prices are pretty consistent at 79,000 VND.
Special dishes with various ingredients are 89,000 VND.
And Banh Mi is also 79,000 VND!
All these options come in at less than ~$4.
Last time, I ordered one spicy and one regular pho,
but the regular was just so outstanding that...!
This time, I ordered two regular bowls.
Basic Side Dishes
Almost as soon as you sit down, you'll be served bean sprouts and various fresh herbs.
And don't forget the lime and spicy Vietnamese chilies!
There's also nuoc mam sauce on the side.
Standard Pho Tai
79,000 VND
Finally, our pho arrived!
Honestly, it might not look like much.
But wow, the taste is out of this world!
Unlike last time, we both went for the classic!
We ordered the pho with a rich beef broth base and tender rare beef.
Maybe it's because of the beef-based broth, but it definitely looked even more appetizing. And the color was so rich!
And of course, you can't forget the fresh herbs and veggies!
As spice and herb lovers, my husband and I added all of them in.
And here's the highlight!
The one thing you absolutely MUST add is Vietnamese chili.
That's the secret kick!
Even just one or two pieces are super spicy, so we added about three. With this chili, there's absolutely no need to order spicy pho separately!
Can you see the gorgeous color of the beef?!!
It's slightly undercooked, giving it an incredibly tender texture...
...it's just SO incredibly delicious.
Honestly, Pho Quynh is so good, it's the kind of place you'd come to eat even after you've already had a meal!
I simply cannot forget the pho I had at Pho Quynh.
The broth is incredibly rich and the flavor is seriously phenomenal,
and so far, no other Ho Chi Minh restaurant has come close to Pho Quynh's pho..!!
Just as we were enjoying our meal...
...a puppy suddenly darted right between my legs!
I was so incredibly startled...
...but it wasn't a dog after all...
...it was a monkey!
To see a monkey during our Ho Chi Minh trip...!

I was genuinely shocked ㅠㅠ
And of all places, right between my husband's and my legs...
Anyway, despite that little incident,
we happily finished our delicious meal.

Pho Quynh, where the pho is simply divine!
It's conveniently located near Bui Vien Street, making it super accessible and perfect for a late-night or post-drinks meal.
It's a must-visit spot, truly a quintessential experience that I hope you'll make an effort to stop by.
Why? Because we actually took a taxi all the way from the main square just to get here, LOL!
That's how incredibly rich and refreshing the broth is,
I still haven't found any pho that can compare to Pho Quynh's.
It's definitely a place I'd love to visit again if I ever return to Vietnam.
