Wellstay Namba Osaka Review 2026: A Family Suite for 5
Searching for spacious family accommodation in Osaka? Our 4-night stay at Wellstay Namba's Family Suite, perfect for 5, offered ample space, separate baths, and a kitchen for a comfortable trip.
Planning our family trip to Osaka...
choosing the perfect accommodation was definitely the trickiest part!
This time, my sibling joined us,
making a total of 5 — 3 adults and 2 kids!
Japanese accommodations often have smaller rooms,
so finding a place where all five of us could comfortably sleep in one room
was quite a challenge.
That's when we stumbled upon
Welstay Namba Family Suite, and let me tell you,
after our 4-night stay, I truly felt like we hit the jackpot with this booking!

A 4-Night Stay for 5 People: ~$365
We booked our 4 nights through Agoda for a total of ~$365.
When you're traveling with kids, things can change unexpectedly right up until departure,
so I always make sure to check for free cancellation when booking accommodations.

This booking also had free cancellation, which was a huge plus,
and when you think about the cost for 5 people staying together in one room,
the price was fantastic!

Easy Walk from Namba Station
Now, it's not *right* in front of Namba Station,
📍 Welstay Namba
2-chōme-8-10 Motomachi, Naniwa Ward, Osaka, 556-0016 Japan
From Nankai Namba Station's Exit 5,
it's about a 7-minute walk,
which is a very manageable distance for adults.
We even navigated it with our luggage and a stroller,
and once we got our bearings, getting around was super easy!

Check-in: Smooth Sailing from the Get-Go!

Check-in was available from 3 PM.
You know how many Japanese accommodations have self-check-in, right?!
It can be frustrating enough with language barriers, but if the check-in machine adds to the confusion,
it can really drain your energy right at the start of your trip.
But here's the brilliant thing about Welstay Namba:
the check-in machine had a Korean language option,
making it super easy to follow the on-screen instructions.
Plus, when I was there, a staff member was right next to us, ready to assist,
so we breezed through check-in and headed straight up to our room!

And here's something else I absolutely loved about this place:
it uses a password entry system instead of a traditional card key!
Card keys can be a hassle – you worry about losing them,
and when you're traveling in a group,
you're constantly asking, 'Who has the key?' which is just inconvenient.

What's more, many hotels turn off the electricity when you remove the card key from its slot.
But since Welstay Namba uses a password for entry,
we didn't have to deal with that inconvenience at all.
The room's climate control and power stayed on even when we were out,
and when you're staying with kids,
this feature was a game-changer – far more convenient than I expected!
We Also Made Excellent Use of the 1st Floor Lounge!

The first-floor lounge was more spacious than I expected,
and when I visited, from 3 PM to 10 PM,
you could use the complimentary drink bar.

With coffee, cocoa, sodas, and even ice available,
we really enjoyed a refreshing drink every time we came back to our accommodation.

There were also vending machines, and on rainy days,
you could borrow umbrellas for free.
We had rain forecasts throughout our trip, so
we had packed several umbrellas from Korea.

If we had known we could borrow them for free here beforehand,
we probably wouldn't have packed that extra luggage at all.
For family trips with a lot of luggage, especially with kids,
a single service like this can make a huge difference.

The Family Suite was truly spacious!
We were assigned a room on the 8th floor.

As soon as we stepped into the room,
we wondered if this was really a Japanese accommodation,
because the space was so incredibly generous!

With four single beds and two double beds,
plus a sofa bed, there were still beds leftover even after five of us used them.

The kids were absolutely thrilled the moment they saw the bunk beds,
and each got to pick their favorite spot to sleep, haha!

We could spread out several suitcases,
and even fit a stroller in the room without feeling cramped.
This setup is genuinely perfect for large family trips!
The more people, the more important these details are!
Two air conditioners, two TVs,
and the room was wonderfully bright.

Since we were traveling with kids,
accommodations with dim lighting can be surprisingly inconvenient,
but here, the room was bright both day and night,
which I absolutely loved!

And there were plenty of hangers too, which was fantastic!

It truly felt like nothing was lacking or overlooked here.
Perfect for groups or families!

Great for whipping up meals right in your room!
You'll find everything you need – a microwave, electric kettle,
induction cooktop, frying pan, plates, cups, and even cutlery!

When you're traveling with kids,
there's always that moment you need to heat up something from a convenience store
or whip up a quick snack for them.

No need to hunt for dishes – everything was ready to use.
And best of all, it was impeccably clean!
Bathroom layout: a family travel dream!
The toilet and shower room are completely separate.

Even if someone was taking a shower, the separate toilet meant
things ran so much smoother during morning preparations!

The toilet area is dry, which was super convenient for the kids, and get this:
there's even a bathtub inside the shower room!

Plus, there's a separate sink area upfront, which was fantastic
for washing up the kids and changing their clothes.

When several people stay together for a few days,
this kind of layout truly makes all the difference.

Good to Know for Extended Stays
They don't do daily room cleaning or
automatically restock consumables.

If you need more towels, just grab them from the front desk.
Honestly, we didn't experience any major inconveniences during our 4-night stay.

You can even rent a hair straightener/curling iron!!

My hair straightener that I brought from Korea didn't work properly!
Apparently, Japan uses 110V, so 220V-only products from Korea
might have trouble.
I only found this out after arriving in Japan... major facepalm! 😅
So, if you're planning to bring a hair straightener,
definitely double-check that it's compatible with 110V before you go!
I was totally saved because I could borrow one from the hotel, phew! 😂
Would I return to this Osaka family accommodation?
I absolutely would!
Even with five of us in one room, it never felt cramped.
The kids absolutely adored the bunk beds, and the adults were thrilled
with the separated bathroom and the convenient cooking area.
And the price for a 4-night stay was perfectly reasonable.
If you're looking for an Osaka accommodation where a group,
say 3 adults and 2 kids, can comfortably share one room,
definitely check out the Wellstay Namba Family Suite
before you go ahead and book two separate rooms!
