Getting from the Airport to the City: Booking, Timetable, Arriving at Namba Station

When it comes to transportation from Osaka Airport to the city center,
there are typically three main options.
If you're heading to Namba Station,
the Airport Express Rapit train is your best bet.
I'll share all the details on how to book and ride the Rapit!
1. Rapit Basic Information
The Rapit is an airport express train that travels from Kansai Airport
all the way to Namba Station in downtown Osaka,
without any transfers needed.
And the Rapit is divided into two types, α and β,
depending on the stations they stop at.

Rapit α | Kansai Airport → Rinku Town → Izumisano → Tengachaya → Shin-Imamiya → Namba |
Rapit β | Kansai Airport → Rinku Town → Izumisano → Kishiwada → Sakai → Tengachaya → Shin-Imamiya → Namba |
While both trains go to Namba Station,
Rapit α has fewer stops,
allowing you to get there a bit faster.
So, if the departure times for both trains are similar,
I recommend taking Rapit α, which has fewer stops!
2. Rapit Timetable
Trains usually operate every 20-30 minutes,
and the journey from Kansai Airport to Namba Station
takes approximately 46 minutes for β and 38 minutes for α.

3. How to Book
While you can purchase tickets on-site,
booking online is often cheaper!
I've scoured various booking sites,
and Klook seems to offer the best prices.

Make sure to use them when you book,
and since they're first-come, first-served coupons, register them right away!

Now, I'll show you how to reserve seats for the Osaka Rapit
through a video, so you can
Follow these steps right after you buy your ticket!
2) After booking, open the voucher sent to your email
Don't open the email attachment
Instead, scroll down the email body and click the voucher button that appears.
3) After downloading, click 'Seat Reservation/Inquiry'
4) Select your boarding date, departure time, and arrival station
5) Choose your preferred seat (the view from the left side is especially beautiful!)
6) Scan the QR code at the ticket gate and you're good to go!
4. Boarding Platform
Let me tell you where to board the Rapit!
After you collect your luggage at Kansai Airport and exit,
you'll likely exit near Gate C.
Take the escalator on your left to the 2nd floor.
➡️ FYI: There's a 7-Eleven ATM right next to Gate B.
If you need Japanese Yen, withdraw it there before heading out.
Once you're on the 2nd floor, turn right immediately!
Head outside and just follow the corridor straight.
You'll then arrive at a large plaza,
and you'll enter through the orange ticket gates.
Just scan your QR code and head on in.
The Rapit is a distinctive deep blue train,
and you'll board from Platform 2.
It usually waits for about 5 to 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
So, if your train is due soon,
and you see the Rapit waiting on the platform,
it's definitely your train, so you can board right away.
Both the train and the platform floor
are clearly marked with car numbers.
Just confirm your reserved car number and then board.
You can store your suitcases at the back of each train car.
Thanks to these dedicated luggage compartments, I had plenty of space to relax
and traveled comfortably all the way to Namba Station.
There's also plenty of legroom in front of your seat, which is fantastic,
and you'll find convenient tables and bag hooks.
Foods like onigiri or sandwiches
that don't have a strong odor,
along with drinks that have lids, are perfectly fine to bring on board, so keep that in mind.
The scenery from the left window is definitely prettier than the right ´-
As you gaze out at the charming Osaka houses,
you'll arrive at Namba Station before you know it!
And for your peace of mind, Namba Station is the final stop,
so you don't have to worry about falling asleep and missing your stop.
From Kansai Airport to the city center, Namba Station,
it's convenient because you can get there in one go
and travel quickly in under an hour with the Rapit!

The Rapit α and β trains differ in the number of stops. Rapit α has fewer stops, taking approximately 38 minutes from Kansai Airport to Namba Station, while Rapit β takes about 46 minutes.
