The Osaka Rapi:t is a limited express train that connects Kansai Airport to Nankai Namba Station in just about 40 minutes. It's the absolute best airport transfer option if you've booked your accommodation near Dotonbori or Namba.

There was only one main reason I chose the Rapi:t.
I wanted to get to Osaka's Namba Station as quickly as possible.
In just about 40 minutes, you can zip from the airport straight to downtown Osaka.
Plus, with fully reserved seating and dedicated luggage storage,
you can sit back and head straight to Namba the second you land.

When it comes to the Osaka Rapi:t timetable,
you'll often hear that it runs "every 30 minutes between 06:00 and 22:00."
However, if you check the official Nankai Electric Railway website, things look a little different.
✔️ Depending on whether you're departing from Kansai Airport or Namba Station,
✔️ the first train, last train, and exact intervals will vary slightly.
Based on the schedule checked for July 2026,
the timetable is as shown in the table above, but it can change depending on the season. Be sure to check the official Nankai Electric Railway website before your trip.

⚠️ Things to keep in mind
As a quick heads-up, there are two types of Rapi:t trains: α and β. Since Rapi:t α does not stop at Kishiwada or Sakai stations, you'll need to catch the Rapi:t β if you plan to get off at any of these intermediate stops.

Arriving late at night and worried about missing the last train? The Airport Express (970 yen one-way, approx. 50 mins) has a later final service and runs every 10 to 15 minutes, making it the perfect backup! Just keep in mind that there are no reserved seats, so you might have to stand while holding onto your suitcase! If you have heavy bags, we highly recommend sticking with the Rapi:t. |
3. How to Change Your Rapi:t Ticket Time
Even if your flight gets delayed, there's absolutely no need to worry.
The Rapi:t QR ticket is incredibly flexible when it comes to changing times.
✔️ After purchase, select your departure date/time and reserve your seat directly from the voucher
✔️ Change seats/times: Available up to 2 times, up to 5 minutes before departure
⚠️ Things to keep in mind
- Refunds are not possible once the voucher is activated.
We highly recommend activating it only after your departure date is 100% locked in!
- Seat selection is unavailable between 1:50 AM and 3:00 AM JST due to daily system maintenance.

Once you land, clear customs, and grab your bags, you can easily check and adjust the time as needed. * Remember, you can change your booking up to 5 minutes before boarding! |
4. Step-by-Step Guide: Taking the Rapi:t from Kansai Airport to Namba Station
Finding the Rapi:t boarding platform is incredibly easy.
As soon as you step out of the arrivals hall, look to your left.
You'll see signs for the trains. Just follow them up one floor to find the ticket offices and ticket gates for both the Rapi:t and the Airport Express.
If you bought your ticket in advance, you can simply scan your QR code and walk right on through.
If you haven't bought a ticket yet, you can buy one at the counter,
but if the ticket booth lines are long, just hop onto Klook to grab a same-day ticket instantly!
Skip the ticket office lines completely and board by scanning the QR code in your voucher!
Simply buy your ticket on Klook, reserve your seat and time immediately, and you're good to go!

Just hop on the train at your scheduled time and find your reserved seat.
For large suitcases, there are dedicated luggage storage areas at the end of each carriage.
* Personally, I like booking the very back row so I can just slide my suitcase into the empty space behind my seat.

- Just so you know, you can purchase a maximum of 8 Rapi:t tickets per person.
If you are traveling in a group, the person holding the QR codes can stand by the ticket gate and scan them one by one to let everyone through,
and then pass through last.

Q. How much is the child fare for the Rapi:t ticket?
The child fare is 710 yen.
Just so you know, online pre-booking for child tickets is only available on the Official Nankai Rapi:t Website.
While you can buy them on-site, the lines at the ticket counter can get pretty long, so I highly recommend booking in advance!
Q. Can I bring my suitcases on the Rapi:t?
Yes, absolutely! You can bring up to two bags for free, and there are dedicated luggage storage compartments inside the train cars.
Q. How do I get back to Kansai Airport from Namba Station?
You can take the exact same Rapi:t train back.
Since there’s no round-trip ticket option, you can just book two separate one-way tickets.
From Namba Station to Kansai Airport
Just one important thing to keep in mind! It's not Osaka-Namba Station,
but Nankai Namba Station where you need to go to board the Rapi:t—don't get them mixed up!
