Osaka Pokémon Cafe: How to Snag Reservations in 2026
Planning a trip to the Osaka Pokémon Cafe? Discover our expert tips for snagging hard-to-get reservations, including how to find last-minute cancellation tickets!

After Universal Studios in Osaka,
the Pokémon Cafe was definitely next on my must-visit list!⚡
I heard it's incredibly popular and reservations are hard to snag,
but I actually managed to grab a cancellation ticket quite easily and made it there!
From how to make a reservation, my success story with a cancellation ticket, to even trying standby on the day,
I'll share all the details with you.
Location

It's located on the 9th floor of the Daimaru Shinsaibashi store,
just a 5-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station.
It's right next to the Pokémon Center, and there are many other character shops nearby,
like the Jump Shop, making it a great place to browse and spend some time.

Operating Hours: 10 AM ~ 7 PM
Reservations
Reservations can only be made through the Pokémon Cafe official website.
The reservation system opens up 31 days in advance of your desired visit date, starting at 6 PM JST,
and because it's so popular, spots get snatched up incredibly fast.

Since the cancellation deadline is 10 PM JST the day before,
a rush of cancellation tickets often appears around 9 PM JST.
Even though I checked quite late, around 9:50 PM JST,
there were still a good number of seats available!

There are A, B, and C seats.
If you're not visiting alone, I'd skip C and highly recommend A.
If your preferred time isn't available, then choosing a B seat would be my next suggestion.
(I've included photos of the seats below).
I chose a B seat for the 5:45 PM slot,
and confirmed my reservation after entering my name, phone number, and email.
You just need to show the staff the confirmation email when you enter.
Walk-in Availability / Standby

If you can't even snag a cancellation ticket, there's a chance you might get in by waiting in the day-of standby line
for cancellations.
However, it's not 100% guaranteed, and spots for popular time slots are rarely available ㅠㅠ.
During my 5:45 PM visit, I did see about two groups get in occasionally.
Pokémon Cafe Seating

The tables you see right as you enter are the A seats.
As long as you're not in the very back,
these are the best seats for watching the Pikachu show!

These are the B seats where I was directed.
Even though it was by the wall, I wish it had been closer to the front so I could see the show better,
but perhaps because I was with one other person,
we were assigned to the very back.

And these are the C seats.
Even after the reservation time had passed, these weren't completely filled,
so people from the standby line were able to get in.
Menu

The menu was more diverse than I expected.
There are **menu items that come with merchandise, like the Phantom Smoothie**, for example.
Since there isn't a huge price difference, I'd recommend opting for
the merchandise menu if you can!

They also have an event where they give you a holographic paper (coaster?) to place your cup on!
While I do love Snorlax, Pikachu is definitely cuter for this one.. haha.

If you order a latte, you can choose your favorite Pokémon design.
We went with Squirtle!

The menu item is called 'Pikachu's Sparkling Spark Lemon,' and perhaps because it's made for kids to enjoy too,
it's not super sour but pleasantly sweet.

The prices are very, very high, but the taste isn't bad.
Pikachu Show

Around 40 minutes to an hour after entering,
the Pikachu show finally begins!
Their ears twitching are super kawaii..💛
We were seated at an inner spot at table B, so people blocked our view a bit,
but I was happy just being able to see Pikachu.
The show lasts about 10-15 minutes,
and it's conducted entirely in Japanese. However, since it's targeted at young children anyway,
it doesn't really matter.

I don't have kids myself, but I just love Pikachu,
so my husband and I went together, just the two of us, lol.
There were quite a few other adult-only groups there besides us.

If you don't have kids or aren't particularly interested in Pokémon,
I'd recommend not going out of your way to visit.
I loved it, but my husband absolutely hated it, lol.

While waiting to pay, you can browse the merchandise.
I really coveted the Pikachu and Snorlax tableware,
but the prices were just too high, so I gave up.

If you're visiting with kids or are a big fan of Pokémon,
I think it's definitely worth a visit at least once!
A lot of canceled tickets get released the day before,
so don't worry and give it a try!
