Peach Aviation Osaka Review 2026: Budget Flights & Baggage Tips

Planning a trip to Japan lately? You've probably noticed how much flight prices have soared! With Southeast Asia becoming pricier, many travelers are flocking to Japan, and there's a huge demand from Japan to other countries too. It feels like a two-way street of exploding travel demand!

That's why I flew to Osaka this past June for around ~$227 round-trip, all thanks to choosing Peach Aviation. 🤣

While some jokingly call it "Peach Aviation" (as in, only when you 'can't help it'), I've personally had good experiences, aside from one 1-hour delay. So, I tend to use them quite often!

Sure, the seats are a bit snug, but for a flight to Japan that's usually just under 2 hours, it's a small trade-off. I figured enduring a little discomfort meant more money for extra draft beers and souvenirs in Osaka! 🍻

1. Why Low-Cost Carriers (LCCs) Are the Smart Choice for Japan Flights Right Now

As I mentioned, flight prices to Japan have generally increased across the board.

Even considering fuel costs, Japan is a relatively short-haul route, so the impact shouldn't be too significant. It seems more likely that the weaker yen has simply driven up demand.

Looking ahead to November 19-22, 2026 (Thursday-Sunday), I couldn't find any flights in the ~$227 price range! 😱

It wasn't long ago that I could snag flights to Fukuoka and Osaka for ~$150-$227. What happened?

But here's the thing: most flights to Japan are only around 2 hours. While comfort is key for long-haul journeys, a 2-hour flight is just enough time for a movie or a quick nap! My conclusion? For short flights, grab the cheapest LCC ticket you can find and save that extra cash to spend on experiences and treats once you arrive!

That's why I opted for Peach Aviation – perhaps the ultimate "no-frills" LCC! (But in a good way, for your wallet!)

2. My Honest Review: Peach Aviation Round Trip from Seoul to Osaka

The Peach Aviation flights I took were:

Outbound: MM714 (10:20 AM - 12:10 PM)

Return: MM713 (11:00 PM - 12:55 AM the next day)

Both flights were on an Airbus A320.

The seats are made of a faux leather material, so they're not particularly plush. However, I found them to feel cleaner than fabric seats.

But, as expected with Peach, the main concern is always the seat pitch and legroom, right?

On the left, I'm 5 feet 1 inch tall, and my husband is 5 feet 10 inches. So, while I had no issues, my husband did find it quite cramped 😭😭. Luckily, he fell asleep before takeoff, so it wasn't a huge problem for him in the end! 😂

So, the bottom line is a trade-off: price versus comfort. For a short flight, my philosophy was to save those extra few dollars on the ticket and splurge on more delicious food and souvenirs in Japan!

3. Essential Tips Before Flying Peach Aviation ⚠️

Before you book your Peach Aviation flight, here's what you absolutely need to know:

1️⃣ Checked Baggage Not Included in Basic Fare

- My ~$227 fare didn't include checked luggage. I traveled light on the way there and only added baggage for one person on the return trip (to carry souvenirs!), which cost an additional ~$53.

2️⃣ Carry-On Baggage: 2 Pieces, Total 15 Pounds (7 kg)

- Other LCCs often allow around 22 pounds (10 kg) and are a bit more flexible, but Peach is quite strict about its 15-pound (7 kg) limit for two carry-on items.

3️⃣ You'll Use Kansai Airport Terminal 2

- Unlike some other airport terminals, Kansai Airport's Terminal 2 is truly bare-bones. Seriously, there's nothing there – no duty-free shops, nothing! 😂

P.S. For your return flight, be prepared for a loooong walk inside T2 to get to your plane! 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️
