Must-Try Restaurants Near Osaka Namba Station
Yakiniku Kurumi
If you're traveling to Osaka, Yakiniku is an absolute must-try!
When I first tried Yakiniku in Japan,
I was quite disappointed after just heading to any cheap spot.
Since then, I always make sure to find a proper place, even if it's a bit pricier.
The place I discovered this time boasts a Google rating of 4.9 stars,
and it's Yakiniku Kurumi Namba branch!
Location

Yakiniku Kurumi Namba is just a 6-minute walk from Namba Station,
and only a 1-minute walk from Kintetsu-Nippombashi Station.
It's super convenient to combine with your Dotonbori or city center itinerary!
Opening Hours: 11:30 AM ~ 12:00 AM (midnight)
Reservations: Available via Google Maps
📍 焼肉くるみ難波店
2-chōme-1-6 Sennichimae, Chuo Ward, Osaka, 542-0074 일본
Atmosphere Inside

The interior of the restaurant features a clean, overall wood-toned aesthetic,
giving off a luxurious yet unpretentious vibe,
perfect for a comfortable dining experience.

With private rooms and seating for groups,
it's also a fantastic spot for families on vacation to enjoy dinner.

Even the restrooms are impeccably clean!

Ordering is super easy via QR code,
and even without the QR code, there's a call button just like in Korea,
so you can call for service with ease.

One of the best things about Japanese restaurants... they give you a warm hand towel!
Menu

While the menu offers a wide variety of dishes,
I highly recommend going for a course menu.
You get to taste a diverse range of meats,
including many special cuts you might not usually find.
I went for the course that's offered at 10,000 JPY per person,
the Artisan Course.

The best part of the course? Unlimited drinks for 70 minutes!
When you're with a group, you're bound to order a lot of drinks,
so opting for a course menu seems even more efficient!

Japanese draft beer is truly delicious everywhere you go – it's just on another level!
The quality is just different; you'll absolutely fall in love with it... or maybe even get addicted!
Artisan Course

The basic setup includes Kimchi, Kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi), Oisobagi (stuffed cucumber kimchi),
three types of namul (seasoned vegetables), and a refreshing salad.
It's fresh and tangy, making it perfect to enjoy with the meat.

We were also served braised beef as a complimentary appetizer.
It was so incredibly delicious, I'd honestly order it as a standalone dish!
The first meat to arrive was the 'Special Grade Salted Beef Tongue'.

I'm already a big fan of beef tongue,
but the beef tongue here was exceptionally delicious.
The texture wasn't tough or overly chewy at all; it was wonderfully tender with just the right amount of bounce.

Next up was the 'Lightly Seared Loin Yukhoe (Korean Beef Tartare)'.
A staff member came right to our table and expertly seared it with a torch.
It was my very first time trying yukhoe in Japan,
and I noticed the taste was a little different from what I'm used to in Korea.
But if you're a fan of Korean yukhoe, you'll absolutely love this, no doubt!
It's incredibly fresh and boasts a wonderfully rich, savory flavor.

Next up, we savored Chateaubriand (tenderloin steak).
Chateaubriand, truly one of the most premium cuts of beef... ❤️
It's a cut that's so sought after, you can rarely get your hands on it!

It was incredibly tender, literally melting in my mouth...
Despite being quite thick, it wasn't tough in the slightest,
and the juices just absolutely burst forth.
Without a doubt, this was the undisputed champion of the entire course!!

Next up was the 'Special Grilled Shabu-Shabu' (also known as 'Tokusen Yaki Shabu').

It came beautifully thinly sliced, just like shabu-shabu,
and was served with its own special dipping sauce.

Visually stunning... and though the slices were thin,
the quality of the meat was just as exceptional as all the other cuts we'd enjoyed.

Whether you dip it in the egg yolk sauce or the onion sauce, it's delicious no matter what!
Both sauces deliver that incredible umami punch.

The Wagyu aburi sushi was also served with a delightful torching right at our table!
Perhaps it was a bit less fatty compared to other cuts,
and eating it with kimchi cut through any richness perfectly, making it even better.

And finally, we indulged in the special Wagyu outside skirt (anchangsal) and short rib (galbisal).
The outside skirt was incredibly tender, comparable to a Chateaubriand.
As for the short rib, anyone who loves grilled ribs
will absolutely adore its flavor – no doubt about it!

It came served with a soup that tasted a bit like Seolleongtang (Korean ox bone soup).
When you're eating a lot of rich beef, things can sometimes get a little heavy,
but this warm broth was the perfect counterpoint, making everything feel light and refreshing!

And for dessert, we got to enjoy some delicious ice cream.
You can choose from vanilla, chocolate, or pistachio flavors.
It was tangy and delightfully chewy – the perfect finish to an incredible meal.
From the flavors to the service, everything was absolutely satisfying at
Yakiniku Kurumi Namba, a true gem in Osaka's Namba district!
If you're on the hunt for amazing yakiniku in Osaka,
I wholeheartedly recommend this spot – you won't be disappointed!
