How to Get from Osaka Airport to Namba: The Rapit Train
Klook Rapit Booking and Boarding Guide
ⓒ Text, Photos Minha Hae
When traveling from Osaka Namba to the airport, I had two main options to consider:
Should I take the bus or the Rapit train?
Buses have the advantage of not requiring you to go into a train station,
which can be more convenient when lugging around luggage.
However, since I was heading back to the airport,
I was personally worried about potential traffic jams or delays.
So, I chose the Rapit train for its no-delay service, comfortable seating, and convenient luggage storage,
and traveled to the airport.
True to its reputation, it was a smooth ride and arrived precisely on time – super satisfying! 😉
Booking the Rapit
When booking the Rapit, I highly recommend purchasing online
rather than buying your ticket on-site.
Not only is it cheaper, but you also save a lot of time by simply scanning a QR code on your phone
instead of having to visit a ticket counter.
It makes the whole process so much more convenient!

I compared prices across various vendors and ended up booking through Klook,
as they offered the lowest price.
It seems Klook is often the most affordable option for tickets! 😉
* Pro Tip Before Buying *
Some vendors do not allow same-day purchase and use (e.g., MyRealTrip).
If you plan to buy on the day of travel, make sure to double-check before purchasing!
For reference, an offline ticket costs 1,670 JPY,
which is approximately ~$11 based on the current exchange rate!
The prices in the table below might also vary with exchange rates. :)
MyRealTrip | Klook | KKDAY | WAUG |
~$10 | ~$9 | ~$10 | ~$10 |

You might be thinking, "Isn't the time difference between the Airport Line and Rapit not that big?"
and find yourself pondering over it.
The Airport Line also costs 970 JPY (which isn't exactly cheap) and, being more like a subway,
there's a high chance you won't get a seat.
If you imagine standing for almost 50 minutes, I personally believe
it drastically lowers the quality of your trip right from the start.
If you're still deciding, I highly recommend the Rapit for its speed, convenient luggage storage, and guaranteed seating, all for just a 700 JPY difference!
It's definitely worth it!
(Especially for those in their late 20s and older, or for family trips!)
How to Use Klook Rapit Tickets
After purchasing your Klook Rapit ticket, there's one more step you need to take.
This process will likely be similar regardless of where you bought your ticket!
I'll explain it in detail below, so just follow these instructions. :)

Once you confirm your voucher from where you purchased it,
click on "Please access this link to use your ticket".
Then, you'll need to click on "Seat Reservation and Inquiry".
Select your boarding date, preferred time slot, and
departure and destination, and then click "Select Seat"!
If you want to check the Rapit timetable,
scroll down to the 'Tip' section on Klook,
and you'll find an official link to view the schedule!

I wanted to catch a train around 8 AM, so I chose the 8 o'clock slot.
Then, you're presented with time slots: 8 AM, 8:30 AM, and 9 AM.
Just pick your preferred time from these three options and click 'Select Seat'.
By the way, when you ride the Rapi:t,
the travel time from Kansai Airport to Namba is a mere 34 minutes!
And the best part? You can even reserve your seat in advance!

You can choose any available seat,
and I simply opted for a window seat from the empty ones.
Once you confirm it here, you're all set!
It's super simple, isn't it?
My Rapi:t Journey from Namba to Kansai Airport: A Review
The place to catch the Rapi:t is Nankai Namba Station!
While it's a short walk from Namba Station, it can be a bit confusing,
so I highly recommend arriving a little earlier than planned.
I actually took the Rapi:t the very first time I came to Osaka, too,
and as a first-timer, I totally got a bit lost wondering where I was! Haha.
📍 Nankai Namba
5-chōme-10-1番60号 Namba, Chuo Ward, Osaka, 542-8503 Japan

Once you're inside the station, just follow the signposts to find Nankai Namba,
and you'll be there in no time.

See that large scanning area with 'QR' written on it at the ticket gate?
Then, all you need to do is click 'Scan QR code' in your Klook purchase history
and scan away!

It's divided into 'Airport Express' and 'Rapi:t',
but make sure to head to the one that says 'Limited Express Rapi:t'.

Since all seats are reserved, you can travel in total comfort!!
The luggage storage areas are also quite spacious, making it easy to store your bags.
Perhaps because it was morning, there weren't many people onboard,
so I even had enough space to keep my suitcase right next to me.
Every time I've taken the Rapi:t, at whatever time slot,
it's never felt overly crowded, which definitely makes for a pleasant journey.

The seat spacing is incredibly generous and the chairs are super comfortable,
so even if you're tired, you can catch a quick 30-minute nap and arrive at the airport feeling refreshed.
When heading back, it's a huge relief not to worry about traffic jams,
and the Rapi:t train definitely suits my travel style perfectly.
Next time I stay in Namba, I'll definitely be taking it again on my way back!

Honestly, just like taking a direct train from Incheon Airport
offers a much more pleasant and comfortable experience, the Rapi:t is exactly the same!
The price difference isn't significant, and you won't have to wrestle with your luggage
like you would on a regular subway, so I wholeheartedly recommend it over standard airport trains! Haha!
