What's fantastic is that they don't just offer amazing beef cuts; they also have chicken, so you can enjoy a wonderful variety of grilled delights!
Yakiniku Hatchan: Ambiance & Korean Menu (for ease of ordering!)

The entrance truly sets the scene with its vibrant red lanterns and traditional signage, giving you an authentic taste of a local Japanese yakiniku spot before you even step inside!
A huge plus for international travelers: the signboard at the entrance features a Korean menu, and you can easily access the full menu via a QR code. This makes ordering a breeze, even if you can't read Japanese!
Step inside, and you're greeted by a cozy ambiance with wood-toned walls adorned with retro posters. Each table has its own exhaust duct descending from the ceiling, creating that classic, nostalgic vibe of a traditional Japanese yakiniku joint!

In one corner of the kitchen, the charcoal fire was glowing warmly, instantly building up my excitement even before we placed our order!
Hatchan's Menu & a Clever Otoshi Hack!

Since we were visiting with our kids, we made a reservation beforehand, and I was so pleased to see that children's tableware was already thoughtfully prepared for us!

Ordering is easy – just scan the QR code!
And guess what? The ordering system is in Korean, so no worries if you don't speak Japanese!

Wagyu short rib at 658 yen, salted beef tongue for 768 yen,
draft beer for 548 yen, and bottled beer for around 328 yen.
These are truly great prices for the value!
If you find it hard to choose, you might want to consider the 5-item assortment (4,387 yen), which lets you taste both Wagyu and Tajima chicken at once!
I started by ordering a little bit of everything,
and then re-ordered more of what suited my taste!

There's nothing quite like grilling meat over charcoal for that authentic, delicious flavor, right?
A charcoal brazier was placed right in the middle of our table,
and I could truly feel the smoky aroma infusing into the meat.

Once we sat down, we were served a generous portion of green onions as 'otoshi' (a small appetizer),
and let me tell you, this was the real game-changer!
We loaded up the soy sauce with plenty of these green onions,
and topped our grilled yakiniku with them.
It perfectly cut through any richness and kept the meat from feeling greasy,
allowing us to savor every bite until the very end!
Yakiniku Hacchan: A Taste Review of Beef Tongue and Wagyu Short Rib

Before the meat even arrived,
we just *had* to cool down with a refreshing glass of nama-beer (draft beer), didn't we?

When you go to Japan, beef tongue (gyutan) is absolutely a must-try, isn't it?
Just look at the amazing beef tongue at Osaka Yakiniku Hacchan!!

First, we lightly oiled the grill,

then carefully placed the beef tongue to grill perfectly.

The Special Salted Beef Tongue had a texture similar to pork jowl,
which gave it such a fantastic chewiness – I was impressed from the very first bite!

The Garlic Beef Tongue was also absolutely fantastic,
with the garlic aroma blending perfectly with the beef tongue.

For the short ribs, I tried all three types:
Wagyu Kalbi, Premium Wagyu Kalbi, and Special Premium Wagyu Kalbi.
Even just the Premium Wagyu Kalbi felt like it completely melted in my mouth!
The meat was incredibly tender, and it was such a joy to savor
the charcoal aroma with every bite throughout the meal.

After the draft beer (Nama-biru), I also tried various bottled beers,
and they were all wonderfully chilled and delicious!
The famously quirky 'dalla-dalla' Japanese beer bottles –
I couldn't resist their charm either!

I initially thought there was too much green onion (pa) served as 'otoshi' (appetizer),
but it paired incredibly well with the meat – I ended up eating almost all of it, haha!

After so much beef, I felt like something different,
so I ordered chicken too! It offered a delicious change of pace.

And to top it all off, vanilla ice cream for dessert! ♥
Overall Impressions

Yakiniku Hacchan was truly an Osaka Namba yakiniku gem, where the individual dish prices were so reasonable
that I could explore everything from beef tongue to various Wagyu short ribs!
The joy of savoring the charcoal-grilled meat with green onions, and the convenience of ordering with a Korean menu available,
was incredibly satisfying. If you're looking for a family dining spot for your Osaka trip,
this place should absolutely be your top candidate. It was an incredibly fulfilling meal!
