Osaka, Japan, in particular, attracts a lot of solo travelers.

That's why when I traveled solo, I did a lot of research on Osaka Namba capsule hotels.

Of course, booking a regular single room would be ideal,

but the price can be quite steep for one person,

and I worried a cramped capsule hotel would be too uncomfortable.

So, the place I found this time was

a cabin-style accommodation with shared bathrooms,

but it's much more comfortable than typical two-tiered capsules,

and the price point was right in between a capsule and a single room –

Osaka Namba Capsule Hotel First Cabin Midosuji Namba.

Its location is also fantastic, directly connected to Namba Station via an underground passage, and Dotonbori is just a 5-minute walk away.

Plus, it even has a large public bath, which made my stay incredibly satisfying.

This is a genuine review of my personal stay, paid for by myself. (As of August 2026)

First Cabin Midosuji Namba is a cabin-style capsule hotel connected to Osaka Metro Namba Station.

It features separate floors for men and women

and a large public bath, making it ideal for solo travelers.

I highly recommend it to anyone who finds traditional cramped capsules a bit much,

or solo travelers with a lot of luggage :)

⭐️ Today's Travel Difficulty ★☆☆

It's easy to find – just get off at Namba Station and walk straight through the underground passage, no need to go outside.

Since it's a cabin-style room, even first-timers to capsule hotels will feel comfortable!

1. Osaka Namba Capsule Hotel Location and Price

First, let me summarize the basic information for you.

In fact, this place is quite popular among Osaka Namba capsule hotels.

Especially since many solo travelers to Osaka are women,

female-only rooms often sell out even on weekdays a month before travel.

I myself initially couldn't book a room,

but I managed to snag a cancelled reservation right before my trip,

allowing me to book for approximately ~$37 per night.

(During peak season, cancelled rooms were in the ~$37 range.)

While ~$37 is pricier than a standard capsule hotel,

considering that new business hotels in the same Namba location go for ~$67-~$74,

it was exactly half the price, which put my mind at ease right from the initial booking.

As I mentioned earlier, it's priced midway between a single room and a capsule, making it perfect for solo travelers who want to be smart with their spending without overly scrimping.

If you've set your travel dates, I recommend checking available rates first, rather than waiting until the last minute like I did.

2. Recommended Osaka Capsule Hotel: My Honest Review (Paid by Myself)

I used First Cabin on the last day of my trip.

The reason is that it's directly connected to

Namba Rapi:t Station, which offers direct access to the airport.

If you go down to the basement of the First Cabin building,

you'll find an underground passage that leads to the train platform.

This means you can comfortably roll your luggage indoors, even if it's raining or snowing.

After checking in, I stored my luggage

and entered my room late in the evening.

It's a single room, but Japanese hotels tend to be quite small, so

I definitely felt like the cabins here were quite spacious.

There's a mini-table, a bed, and enough space,

so I could even store my luggage.

What's more, it has a locking mechanism,

so you can store your valuables in your own cabin's locker, not in an external one.

There were also plenty of power outlets right next to the bed, which was super convenient for charging. And like a true Japanese hotel, pajamas were provided, and the bedding was so comfy, I slept really well.

Many of you might be wondering, is this like a proper room?

You might ask, and while it feels like a room, the ceiling is shared.

So, you might hear the person next to you snoring or rustling around,

but the walls separating your space from the next and the front blind block things out completely. It's on a whole other level compared to typical capsule hotels that only have a curtain for separation.

Plus, each zone is separated by gender,

and you can only enter with your card key, so nobody can get into your space if it's not theirs.

I really felt like they put a lot of thought into security here.

If you've been hesitant about trying a capsule hotel in Osaka because you're worried about it being too small,

this cabin-style option might just put your mind at ease :)

The only catch is that demand for cabin-style rooms is super high,

so they often sell out as your travel date approaches.

I highly recommend checking for availability well in advance :)

3. How to Book Osaka Hotels with a Discount

Honestly, when I book hotels for international trips,

I usually use Agoda or Trip.com a lot.

But this August, I found myself using Klook quite often.

Since there's a limited-time discount coupon for August,

Klook offers a basic discount of ~$2 to a maximum of 5% off.

I compared prices for a standard cabin room during an off-peak season.

The lowest price above is for a standard cabin room with free cancellation.

4. Direct Underground Connection to Nankai Rapit & Grand Public Bath

One of the best advantages of First Cabin Midosuji Namba is its direct connection to Namba Station.

Literally, you can arrive directly from the airport without even stepping outside.

This is truly a huge advantage because,

Namba Station is connected to Nipponbashi Station via

Namba Walk, an underground shopping center.

Namba Walk features not only **ATMs and convenience stores**, but also

Sushi Sakaba Kassis, famous for delicious Osaka cuisine,

meaning you can take care of everything without needing to go outside!

That makes this **Osaka Namba capsule hotel incredibly advantageous in terms of location**.

The second advantage is that you can enjoy a grand public bath for a price of less than ~$37 per night.

This means you have the fantastic benefit of being able to comfortably wash up without necessarily using the communal showers.

Enjoying a warm bath late at night felt incredibly soothing; all my fatigue melted away, leaving me completely refreshed.

For your information, there are four communal bathrooms and shower rooms available,

but as I mentioned earlier, with the grand public bath also accessible,

it never felt crowded.

I used it around 7:30 AM, and I was the only one there.

They also have hairdryers, so you don't need to pack your own! :)

5. Osaka Capsule Hotel FAQ

Q. It's my first time at a capsule hotel. Will I be able to sleep comfortably?

These are single-story cabin types, so they're more spacious than typical bunk-style capsules, and generally, everyone is quite considerate about noise. You can also get free earplugs, so even sensitive sleepers usually find it comfortable.

Q. It's a capsule hotel, but can I keep my luggage inside my cabin?

Yes, you can keep your suitcase inside your cabin, and there's also a locker with a lock. This is different from typical capsule hotels, making it very convenient for those with a lot of luggage.

Q. When can I use the grand public bath?

It's available for use except between 3 AM and 6 AM for cleaning.

In other words, since there's a grand public bath in addition to the communal showers, the bathing facilities don't get crowded at this accommodation.

Q. Are there rooms for 2, 3, or 4 people?

Yes, they offer **private Twin Cabins** suitable for 2 people (around ~$59) / **private Triple Rooms** for 3 people (around ~$74) / and even **private Quadruple Rooms** for 4 people (~$111).

If you're traveling with a group, this can actually be great!

While it means no private bathrooms in the cabins due to the shared facilities,

it also means **everyone can get ready at the same time**,

which I found could really cut down on prep time.

Q. Is it safe for solo female travelers?

The male and female floors are completely separated,

offering a secure environment for solo female travelers.

However, please note that single female cabins tend to sell out quickly, so advance booking is highly recommended.
