My T'way Air flight to Osaka was at 7:55 AM,

so I arrived at the airport 3 hours early!

There were definitely way more people than before.

I registered for SmartPass on the day of departure,

and filled out Visit Japan Web the week before.

Using the 5-Day JR Kansai Wide Area Pass,

I'm taking the Shinkansen to explore Kyoto, Kobe, Himeji, and Okayama Kurashiki! ​

Arriving so early let me catch a gorgeous sunrise.

Since I got here at 4:30 AM,

almost none of the restaurants were open yet.

So, I grabbed a quick bite at School Food before taking off! ​

No delays! We landed safely in just under 2 hours and 30 minutes. ​

As soon as I landed at Kansai Airport, I was greeted by rows of capsule toy machines. Welcome to the land of Gachapon!

Headed straight to Lawson,

and my Travolog card

worked like a charm here!

​

Head out of Exit 5 on the 1st floor,

and get off at Hankyu Sanban-gai bound for Osaka Umeda.

Simply scan your e-ticket QR code at the machine,

and your bus ticket will print out right away!​

The bus ride from Kansai Airport to Osaka Umeda Station

took about an hour,

and we finally arrived at Hotel Vischio Osaka by Granvia!

It's just 400m (a 7-minute walk) from Umeda Station,

200m (a 4-minute walk) from LINKS UMEDA,

and only 6 minutes from Osaka Train Station.

Grand Front Osaka is located right in front of the hotel,

and there are tons of convenience stores, drugstores, pubs, BBQ joints,

and ramen shops nearby.

Plus, there's a lovely cafe on the first floor of the hotel building!​

The entrance is so clean and sleek.

​

​

They also have self-check-in kiosks,​

​

​

And while body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are provided in the room,

you can also grab extra amenities here.

They have hair combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair ties, cotton swabs, cotton pads, and razors.

for heating up bento boxes

we bought at the Lucua Department Store food hall!​

Check-in is at 3:00 PM, but since we arrived early,

we left our bags here so we could grab some lunch.

When they asked what time we'd be back to check in,

we told them 3:00 PM.​

Walking over after arriving, it was actually much...

The wind in Osaka was blowing incredibly hard, and since I only packed a light jacket, it was absolutely freezing!

I deeply regretted not bringing a warm puffer jacket.

Luckily, right nearby was a store similar to Uniqlo—

GU! So you can easily pop in and buy some extra layers if needed. ​

There is a breakfast restaurant on the 1st floor.

Since I was planning to do lots of day trips to the areas surrounding Osaka,

I didn't book my room with breakfast included

and just paid for it on the spot!​

​

I opted for a double room.

The air conditioner was set to cooling mode by default.

If you leave it as-is, the room gets quite chilly with cold air blowing,

so make sure to press the button to switch it over to heating!

​

The view outside the window is a cozy neighborhood and building view.

The closet space for hanging clothes and the entryway for shoes. ​

The bathtub was nice, deep, and spacious, which was great—though it was a little slippery.

​Make sure to be careful when stepping out!

Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are all provided.

This is the breakfast area located inside the lobby on the 1st floor.

Since my room booking didn't include breakfast,

I went ahead and asked how I should pay for it.

One staff member mentioned I could charge it to my room,

but another staff member kindly processed my card payment right there on the spot. It cost 2,300 JPY (~$14). ​

There is hand sanitizer available, and once you're done eating,

you just have to flip this card over. ​

​

There is a 'drip x cafe' on the 1st floor of the building,

selling coffee, burgers, sandwiches, parfaits, and more.​

​

Since they close quite early in the evening, I missed out at first,

but I finally managed to order a burger!

​

I got it to-go and ate it back in my room.

The classic burger was about ~$5, and the cheeseburger

was around ~$6, and the patty was incredibly tender!​

They also have a coin exchange machine,

​

and even ice cream! After storing our luggage,

we head over to Lucua Department Store to get some delicious eel. ​
