Osaka boasts many incredible observatories, but for me,
the best spot to truly soak in the city's incredible panorama is, hands down,
Harukas 300.
It's not just about its towering height; what makes it truly special is the unobstructed view,
stretching all the way to the horizon!
Today, I'm excited to share everything about the incredible Harukas 300 Observatory,
from how to snag affordable entry tickets
to my breathtaking experience watching the sunset there recently!

Finding Your Way to Harukas 300 Observatory
Next up, let's explore the best way to get to Harukas 300 Observatory.

Once you alight at Tennoji Station on the subway,
simply follow the clear signs pointing to 'Harukas Observatory'.
While you might find a direct entrance from the subway station, it's also possible you'll exit like I did in the photos and navigate externally.

Eventually, you'll find the Harukas Observatory entrance on the first basement floor.
Even if it feels like you're taking a scenic route, you'll eventually find it!
Don't fret if you think you've made a wrong turn; just keep following those signs,
and the entrance will reveal itself. No worries at all!

Once you've located the entrance, hop on the elevator
and ascend to the 16th floor, where you'll find the observatory's ticket counter.
My Unforgettable Sunset Experience at Harukas 300 Observatory
Upon reaching the observatory ticket counter, it's time to exchange your tickets.

This was my third visit to Harukas,
and I always enter using a Joy Pass.
If you're using a Joy Pass like me, you'll need to go to the ticket counter
to scan your Joy Pass QR code and receive your physical ticket.

After exchanging your ticket, head through the entrance
and take the elevator straight up to the observatory.
Once you reach the 60th floor, you're officially at the observatory!

I visited the observatory around sunset,
and I was actually quite surprised by how many people
were coming in to enjoy both the daytime views and the sunset.
It was more crowded than I expected!
The number of visitors wasn't much different from when I've seen it at night.

As the sun gradually began to set,
the light bathed the western sky, and I could feel the city softly
transitioning into dusk.
Even though there are quite a few tall buildings in Osaka city,
Harukas is so incredibly tall that
the urban landscape stretched out to the horizon, and it was truly magnificent.

One of the best things about the Harukas Observatory is that you can enjoy
a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of Osaka city through its expansive windows.
While it might all look similar at first glance, it was fascinating to observe that the northern area, where Umeda is located,
has more tall buildings, while other areas have relatively
fewer and shorter structures.

I took my time exploring the observatory's interior until the sunset
was in full swing.
There were plenty of photo spots and fun things to do scattered throughout,
so waiting wasn't boring at all.
Harukas frequently collaborates with various anime series,
and this time, it was with Detective Conan, an anime I'm very familiar with!
This made the visit even more enjoyable with so much to see.

On the floor below the main observatory, there's a cafeteria where you can
enjoy a meal or drinks while soaking in the amazing views.
It's a fantastic spot!
If you have some extra time,
I highly recommend grabbing a meal here.

Finally, the sun was almost completely gone.
Inside the observatory, they provide the exact sunset time each day,
so if you're planning to experience both the sunset and the night view,
you can use this information to time your visit perfectly.

Luckily, the weather was clear on the day I visited,
and it was a cloudless day, so when the sun set,
the sunset view was absolutely perfect.
While the night view is beautiful, the sky dyed by the sunset is truly
romantic and stunning!
A Place Where Sunset Hours Were Simply Romantic

Today, I've shared with you an overview of Harukas 300 Observatory
and my honest review after visiting during sunset hours.
The harmony of the cityscape and the sunset was truly beautiful,
making it a time I highly recommend for your visit!
Instead of booking individual admission tickets,
using the Kansai Joy Pass offers better value.
So, refer to the ticket information I introduced above
and plan your visit!
