Endo Sushi
📍 Endo Sushi
1 Chome-1-86 Noda, Fukushima Ward, Osaka, 553-0005 Japan
Operating Hours: Mon-Sat 6:15 AM - 1:45 PM
Closed: Sundays

Without a doubt, Endo Sushi serves the best sushi I've ever had. Even though it's a bit outside central Osaka, I would absolutely make the trip again on my next visit.

This century-old sushi spot is incredibly famous, drawing long lines of locals long before it became a popular destination for tourists. If you plan to visit on a weekend, be aware that ingredients often run out after 10 AM, so you might miss out entirely.
I recommend visiting on a weekday right when they open to get seated without a wait.

While every piece of sushi was exquisite, the tuna and salmon truly stood out. Both were rich and fatty but never greasy, and the fish was incredibly fresh. If you're searching for an unforgettable sushi experience in Osaka, Endo Sushi is my absolute top recommendation.
Sakaba O
📍 Okonomiyaki Sakaba O
Japan 〒542-0076 Osaka, Chuo Ward, Namba, 1 Chome−7−15 江戸安ビル B1F
Operating Hours: Daily 11:30 AM - 3:00 PM, 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Waiting for an hour and a half for okonomiyaki at Sakaba O? Absolutely worth every minute! This wasn't your average, flour-heavy pancake; it was on a whole other level.
Packed with generous amounts of egg, cabbage, and meat, each bite offered a rich, harmonious blend of flavors. The combination of their special mayonnaise and savory sauce was simply perfect.

A huge plus is that each table has its own griddle, keeping your food perfectly warm throughout your meal. And don't even get me started on the yakisoba with a cold draft beer – it was a match made in heaven! The only downside? The wait during peak dinner hours can be quite long.
Momiji
📍 Momiji
9-19 Ikutamacho, Tennoji Ward, Osaka, 543-0071 Japan
Operating Hours: Thu-Mon 5:00 PM - 2:00 AM
Closed: Tuesdays, Wednesdays

Momiji in Osaka is famous for its incredible yakisoba, a dish that locals rave about. It's about an 18-minute walk from Namba Station, which is a bit of a distance, yet it's always bustling with people.
However, the wait here is generally much shorter than at Sakaba O, and since they're open until 2 AM, you might even find a time to visit without any wait at all if you go later in the evening.

Here, every dish on the menu is fantastic – the yakisoba, okonomiyaki, and donpeiyaki are all equally delicious. Personally, I found their yakisoba even better than Sakaba O's!
The donpeiyaki comes out almost instantly after ordering, so definitely add it to your meal for a quick and tasty appetizer!
Izumo Lucua
📍 Izumo Lucua
Japan 〒530-0001 Osaka, Kita Ward, Umeda, 3 Chome−1−3 ルクア B2F バルチカ
Operating Hours: 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM

For an incredible unagi (eel) experience in the Umeda area, Izumo Lucua is the place to go. It's conveniently located in the basement of the Lucua shopping mall, directly connected to JR Osaka Station, making it easy to fit into your itinerary.
While there's usually a queue, the turnover is quite efficient. I only waited about 30 minutes to get a table.

The soft, sweet egg layered over the rice perfectly complements the savory and rich flavors of the grilled eel. And the portion size is enormous – even a grown man might struggle to finish it all! I'm not usually a huge fan of eel, but this dish was so delicious that I polished off every last bite.
Ichiran Ramen Dotonbori
📍 Ichiran Dotonbori Annexe (Bekkan)
1 Chome-4-16 Dotonbori, Chuo Ward, Osaka, 542-0071 Japan
Operating Hours: 24 hours

I debated whether to include Ichiran Ramen, as it's often more frequented by tourists than locals. However, there's no denying that its rich, customizable broth hits just the right spot for many international palates.
The biggest advantages are its 24-hour operation and the ability to fully customize your ramen – from noodle firmness and richness of broth to spice level and toppings. This means you can easily find a less crowded time to visit!
Note: While Ichiran has multiple locations, I'm specifically recommending the Dotonbori Annexe (Bekkan) for its excellent service and consistent quality.

Osaka is truly a city brimming with delicious food. Even if you don't visit every spot on my list, make sure to try at least one type of sushi, ramen, and okonomiyaki during your trip – your taste buds will thank you!
