My partner and I usually travel abroad once or twice a year,

and this time, my partner is really keen on visiting nearby Japan;

There are so many places in and around Osaka that I'm eager to explore,

so I'm already looking into flights to Osaka! ✈️

The only problem?

I'm running low on vacation days 😭

A 3-night, 4-day trip would be amazing,

but for now, I'm thinking of a 2-night, 3-day getaway

that uses only public holidays.

Usually, I book flights

directly on the airline's official website,

but this time, I've discovered how to use Trip.com discount codes and

even bundle flights & hotels together!

From choosing the best dates

to understanding all the conditions before booking,

I'm excited to document my Osaka trip preparations.

Osaka 2 Nights, 3 Days: Dates Without Taking Leave

I'm currently looking at

May 1-3, 2027 and

October 9-11, 2027.

Still debating whether to go in spring or autumn!

Both itineraries are from Saturday to Monday, covering public holidays,

making them perfect candidates for a trip

without using any extra vacation days.

Incheon to Osaka Flights: Making the Most of Day One with Morning Departures

Since it's a short trip,

I'm looking for flights that depart early on the first day

and return late on the last day.

If we leave on the evening of the first day,

we'd spend the whole day in Korea,

and that would feel like a wasted opportunity

for a 2-night, 3-day trip!

For May 1 - May 3,

searching for 2 adults in economy class,

the lowest price results initially showed a

06:55 departure from Incheon → 09:00 arrival in Kansai.

(Direct flight, 2 hours 5 minutes travel time)

Even among morning departures,

it looks like there are options to choose from.

But that doesn't mean we need to pick the absolute earliest flight, right?

We also need to consider transportation to Incheon Airport

and getting enough sleep,

and upon arrival in Kansai, factor in immigration and

travel into the city.

If we're looking for a morning arrival,

it seems best to allow ourselves some flexibility

and start our Day 1 itinerary around lunchtime.

And on the return day,

we can't really sightsee right up until the flight departure,

so we'll need to set aside enough time

to travel from the city to the airport.

I'm also thinking about exploring areas near Osaka,

so I'll coordinate with my partner on how to spend Day 2,

and I want to make sure Day 1 and the last day

aren't too rushed with travel.

Osaka Flights: Comparing Prices Between Official Airline Websites and Trip.com

October flight schedules aren't available for search yet,

so I've started by looking at May 1-3.

I'll keep autumn as a travel option,

but let's check out the spring flights first.

I'm also looking into evening return flights,

but for now, I've searched both sites for dates and prices

using the morning return flight I first looked up.

The itinerary I compared is the combination below:

Saturday, May 1

Incheon 06:55 → Kansai 09:00

Monday, May 3

Kansai 10:30 → Incheon 12:40

To get straight to the point,

for the same dates and round-trip times,

when I checked the fare for 2 adults,

Trip.com's total after discount

was displayed as ~$111 lower

than Asiana's official website.

And if you search not for Incheon Airport,

but for Gimpo Airport,

even better prices might appear,

so it's definitely worth checking again when booking.

The method to get a discount

will be explained in more detail below!

The Asiana round trip flights shown as OZ112 & OZ111 on the official website.

For the same dates on Trip.com,

the flight ticket was ~$1034,

after adding a ~$15 ticketing fee,

this was the amount after applying the discount code.

For checked baggage, both options

indicated 1 piece of 23kg per person.

The change and cancellation conditions were a bit different,

so it's important to check carefully on each detail page.

Asiana Airlines & Korean Air

The merger announcement is also out.

Also, the lowest price seen in the initial search list

of ~$519 per person

was the price when choosing 'My Bank Account Payment';

If you change to 'All Payment Methods',

it becomes ~$525.

So, for 2 adults,

before applying the discount code,

the final amount was ~$1049.

It's important to look at both the amount seen in the search results

and the total amount at the booking stage.

I searched for departures from Incheon to all Osaka airports,

and Kobe Airport (UKB) flights also appeared.

When heading to Kansai,

make sure to look for the KIX tag before selecting.

② Select round-trip flights and baggage

When checked on October 5, 2026,

I found even cheaper prices!

Flights really do fluctuate in price, don't they?

Don't just pick the outbound flight;

you need to check the return flight times as well.

Check the conditions for carry-on and checked baggage,

as well as the change and cancellation policies,

then proceed with the price that includes your necessary options.

③ Enter discount code and confirm application

In the ‘Discount Code’ section,

located below the passenger information input step,

enter 3HAFLT3

and click the ‘Add’ button.

Once applied,

you'll see ‘Applied’ along with

the discount code amount − ~$9

in the fare details on the right.

The total also

changed from ~$1050 → ~$1040.

Can I get a discount if I book flights and hotels together?

Trip.com also has ‘Flight + Hotel’ packages

that you can book together.

Even on the screen I searched,

recommendations for flight and hotel bundles appeared.

Among the official announcements,

there was also a promotion for an average of 11% off.

Now I kind of understand why people

plan their trips on Trip.com, don't you think?

If your hotel is decided,

it would be good to compare the total amount for booking a flight and a 2-night hotel stay separately

with the amount for booking them together.

For now, I'm just looking into flights,

so once I have some accommodation candidates,

I'll have to look into this method as well.

Will it be Spring Osaka,

or Autumn Osaka?

I'm still keeping both options open and thinking it over.

I'll match the dates my partner and I can go

with the flight times.

For this trip too,
