The main distinction between these two passes is that the Osaka Amazing Pass includes unlimited access to the Osaka Metro and city buses. The slight drawback is you need to physically exchange your voucher for the actual pass before you can start using it.

In contrast, the Osaka e-Pass doesn't come with transportation benefits, but it offers the convenience of immediate use via a QR code – no physical exchange required! This is perfect if you don't plan on traveling extensively around the city or already have a preferred transit card like an ICOCA or Pasmo. However, if you purchase the Osaka e-Pass as a combo with an Osaka Metro 1-Day or 2-Day Pass, you *will* need to visit an exchange counter to pick up your physical subway ticket.

It's also worth noting that the list of attractions included in each pass can vary slightly. How to Exchange Your Japan Osaka Subway Pass

If you're still struggling to locate it, try finding the Tourist Information Center first – the exchange office is right next door. It's a lifesaver to know this!

Once inside, you'll find a self-service kiosk immediately to your left. Simply scan your QR code there, and it will dispense your 1-day or 2-day Osaka Metro Pass.

Attractions You Can Enjoy with the Osaka e-Pass

First up is the iconic Umeda Sky Building Floating Garden Observatory. It's so famous it usually tops the list of included attractions! Just be aware that free entry with the e-Pass is only valid until 4:00 PM. On my previous visit, the cut-off was 6:00 PM, but it seems its popularity has led to an earlier closing for free access. If you visit after 4:00 PM, you'll still receive a 30% discount on the admission fee.

Next, we have Tsutenkaku Tower, also an observation deck. Think of it as the southern counterpart to the Umeda Sky Building in the north. While it's not as tall, it offers fantastic views of the city below. For an extra thrill, you can even try the Tower Slider! Keep in mind that due to its popularity, the slider is typically only available on weekdays. On weekends, you'll likely need to pay the full original price for that experience.

Beyond observation decks, there's also the HEP Five Ferris Wheel. It's a great way to enjoy a relaxed, scenic view of the city. This attraction doesn't seem to have the same intense popularity as the others; I didn't encounter any special conditions for using the e-Pass here, and the wait times were generally short.
