Dormy Inn Tanimachi Osaka Review 2026: Great Value & Public Bath
After a long day exploring Osaka, unwind at Dormy Inn Tanimachi. This budget-friendly hotel offers a fantastic public bath for ultimate relaxation. Find out why it's a top pick!

Recommended Value-for-Money Hotels in Osaka
After a full day of walking and exploring during your Osaka trip,
it's so important to have a comfortable place
to properly rest and recharge at your accommodation.
For my Osaka trip, I chose a hotel with a large public bath,
and guess what? It didn't come with the high price tag of a ryokan
and offered amazing value, making it perfect for a truly restful experience.
I stayed at the Dormy Inn Tanimachi in Osaka,
and it was a hotel that left me highly satisfied
in so many ways.
1. Location

The Dormy Inn Tanimachi Osaka
is located more towards Osaka Castle in the north,
rather than the bustling central Namba area.
It takes about 20 minutes by subway from the hotel to Namba,
but the station is close, the surroundings are quiet,
and since I wasn't going to be in Namba all the time anyway,
I didn't find it inconvenient at all.

Osaka Castle is about a 15-minute walk away,
Dotonbori is two subway stops,
and Umeda is three subway stops.
The location isn't bad at all! :)
2. Dormy Inn Tanimachi Osaka

Dormy Inn Hotels –
one of Japan's most prominent hotel chains!
If you're thinking of a comparison in Korea,
it's similar to Lotte City Hotel or Shilla Stay.
They offer fantastic value, and no matter which branch you stay at,
you can always expect a consistently good experience.

Best of all, if you're a guest,
you get free access to the large public bath!
You can soak away the day's fatigue in the hot springs every night. Haha!

Prices are around ~$74 for a double room on weekdays,
and about ~$111 for a Hollywood Twin room.
After comparing, it seemed Agoda offered the best rates.
Many of you might be planning a trip to Osaka
to catch the beautiful autumn leaves,
so keep this in mind and book your stay quickly!

3. Check-in

Check-in is available from 3 PM,
and check-out is by 11 AM.
The lobby also has a luggage scale,
which was incredibly useful for weighing my suitcase
before heading to the airport.

Disposable amenities such as toothbrushes, combs, and razors
are available in the lobby on the first floor,
so feel free to take as many as you need.
4. Hollywood Twin Room 810

I booked a Hollywood Twin room,
and the difference from a standard twin room
is that the bedroom and the sink area near the entrance
are separated, which means
there was plenty of space!
Even with two adults unpacking their suitcases,
there was still ample space to move around.

As soon as you enter, there's a toilet,
and further inside, you'll find the bathroom.
The bathroom was stocked with large bottles of
shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
Since I only used the public bath,
I didn't actually use this bathroom. Haha!

The sink is located near the entrance,
before you even step into the bedroom.

Underneath the sink, there's a refrigerator,
and inside, you'll find two bottles of water
and even a welcome dessert!

The inner bedroom didn't feel cramped at all,
and with twin beds, it was a perfectly
suitable setup for staying with friends or family.

The closet had pajamas ready for going to the public bath
or for lounging in the room.
The quality was so good that there was no need
to bring extra pajamas from home.

(Slippers are by the entrance!)

In front of that, there was a small sofa area,
and by the window, a spacious table.
It was incredibly useful for putting down luggage,
working, or doing makeup.

Here's the view from the 8th floor of Dormy Inn Tanimachi,
an amazing value hot spring hotel in Osaka. :)
While there isn't a spectacular view,
it's not a 'wall view' or claustrophobic either,
so it wasn't bad at all.
5. The Public Bath (Dae-yokjang)

The Grand Bath, available to all guests!
You'll find an indoor hot spring bath, an open-air bath, and a sauna,
with separate facilities for men and women.
It operates from 3 PM until 10 AM the next day,
and I really loved being able to pop in anytime I wanted! :)

Inside the Grand Bath,
everything from cleansing oil and foam cleanser,
to shampoo, conditioner, and body wash
is fully stocked. So,
all you need to bring from your room are a change of clothes
and a towel.

And when you're done with your relaxing soak,
you can enjoy complimentary ice cream or yogurt!
So make sure to grab a cool treat after your bath. Haha.

Additionally, from 9:30 PM to 11 PM,
the restaurant offers complimentary ramen!
I kept missing the timing, so I didn't get to try it, but...
If you're looking for a late-night snack,
this is a must-try delicacy!
6. Breakfast
Breakfast Hours
6:30 AM ~ 9:30 AM

Dormy Inn Tanimachi Osaka's breakfast was
even more satisfying than I expected!
They offer a buffet-style spread,
featuring both Japanese home-cooked dishes and Western options.

True to Osaka's culinary reputation,
they had hearty Japanese dishes like Okonomiyaki,
Karaage, steak, and tempura,
all ready for you to savor!

Of course, they also had lighter breakfast options
like salads, fruits, and bread.
It's no secret I ended up overeating bright and early! haha
7. Conclusion

Now that the hot days are behind us,
the crisp autumn weather that makes you crave a warm hot spring bath
is finally here!
For those who find a ryokan a bit much
but still want to experience a hot spring bath on their Japan trip,
I highly recommend this value-for-money onsen hotel in Osaka!

While it's not a hotel right in the heart of Dotonbori,
its proximity to the subway station made it super convenient to get anywhere.
I was incredibly satisfied with this accommodation in many ways,
so I definitely recommend it as a great value hotel in Osaka,
and I suggest you take this advice to heart and book quickly
once your travel plans are set! :)
