Osaka's Nipponbashi and Denden Town are known as two of Japan's biggest meccas for otaku culture, right alongside Tokyo's Akihabara.

On this trip, I was on a mission to find some awesome Demon Slayer figures,

so I personally explored several figure shops.

While I couldn't hit up every single spot, I'm excited to share the unique features and

my honest reviews of the ones I did explore.

Hopefully, this little guide will be a huge help for anyone visiting for the first time!

Bandai Namco Osaka Nippombashi Store

I stopped by on a weekday, and since it's one of the earlier openers in Denden Town,

it was my first stop.

The store's layout by floor is super clear,

so even for a first-timer like me, it was easy to navigate and I didn't get lost at all.

The first floor is absolutely packed with gachapon machines and claw games.

I planned for a quick browse, but I ended up spending quite a bit of time just on the first floor,

there was just so much to see and do!

The second floor is primarily dedicated to claw (crane) games,

so if you're a fan of those, you'll probably find yourself stuck there for ages!

Full disclosure: I don't know if I just lack the skill, but I had a tough time winning anything,

and it's no secret I ended up blowing ~$21! 😂

The third floor is an awesome arcade space where you can dive into some video games.

I just stumbled upon this place while walking by,

and it turned out to be a shop primarily focused on figures!

While it wasn't as massive as some of the other shops,

it boasted a really diverse and impressive selection of figures.

Out of all the shops I checked out, this one definitely had the most reasonable figure prices.

They even had bundled sets, so if you pick wisely,

you can snag some real bargains!

Plus, Giyu figures are notoriously hard to come by anywhere,

but I actually spotted some at Torejaras!

And get this – they had so many Demon Slayer figures that I couldn't even find in Fukuoka.

📌My Takeaway

It might be a smaller shop, but it's perfect if you're laser-focused on figures,

and the prices were the best I found anywhere.

Gacha Gacha no Mori Nippombashi Otaroad Store

One of the places I definitely wanted to visit in Denden Town was

Gacha-gacha no Mori!

As expected of a gacha specialty store, from the basement to the 2nd floor,

the entire building is filled with gacha machines.

The gacha machines were densely packed starting from the 1st floor,

making me feel like I could definitely find something here.

The basement is also full of gacha, so it's a good idea to allow

plenty of time.

Even the stairs between floors are packed with gacha machines,

leaving no space unfilled.

After exploring all the way to the 2nd floor,

you'll understand why it's called 'Gacha Forest' – it's a gacha shop of incredible scale.

📌 One-Line Review

If you love gacha, this is a must-visit.

While there aren't many super rare gacha, you're sure to find one that you're looking for among these.

a large specialty store handling figures, plastic models, dolls, and even railway models.

You can find rare or discontinued items here,

and it was one of the larger figure shops I've visited.

The 1st and 2nd floors are set up as rental showcases where individual sellers display their items, so even the same product can have varying prices.

The condition of used items could only be checked visually.

Photography is prohibited here, so I have very few photos. Please just check the approximate prices.

There are both new and used items,

and the prices tend to be quite high.

To purchase an item, you write the case number and price on an application form

and give it to a staff member, who will retrieve the item for you.

Items without boxes are only wrapped in plastic,

and special packaging requests incur an additional fee.

If you love figures or plastic models,

this is a fun place just to browse.

Exchanges and refunds are not possible, and sometimes items are more expensive than at other stores,

While exploring Denden Town, I also wanted to visit stores that collected official merchandise, not just gacha or figures.

And of course, I had to stop by Animate, a must-visit in Denden Town!

On the first floor, manga, CDs, and DVDs were all neatly organized by genre, making it super easy to browse.

The second floor is packed mainly with anime fan merchandise rather than figures.

If you're looking for lighter merchandise or stationery, Animate was definitely the best spot.

⚠️A heads-up for those visiting with kids: be careful on the 4th floor!

It's an adult content area for ages 18 and up.

Lashinbang is located in the same building as Animate, starting from the 3rd floor.

It's a shop that buys and sells used anime merchandise, figures, manga, CDs, and DVDs, so it's quite different from Animate, which focuses on new releases.

There were plenty of figures and large merchandise, but when I thought about where to put them at home, I naturally gravitated more towards smaller items like keychains and acrylic stands.

Even though they're pre-owned, many items were in great condition and available at reasonable prices.

I initially thought that because it's a second-hand store, everything would be super cheap, but as I looked around, there were quite a few items that were priced so high I wondered if they were really used.

Nevertheless, it's a fun store where you can enjoy hunting for treasures, like rare merchandise featuring your favorite characters that are hard to find elsewhere.

Even though it's a second-hand merchandise store, you can still get tax-free shopping if you spend over ¥5,500.

This is a great second-hand merchandise store to check out alongside Animate. While not everything is necessarily cheap just because it's used, you can find many items at reasonable prices if you search carefully.

Osaka's Denden Town lets you explore figure shops, gacha shops, and Animate all in one go, so if you're an anime merchandise lover, you absolutely have to visit! :)
