Smile Hotel Premium Higashi Shinsaibashi: Osaka Budget Stay 2026
Planning your Osaka adventure? Find out why Smile Hotel Premium Higashi Shinsaibashi is the perfect budget-friendly pick, just steps from Namba and Dotonbori!

Planning your Osaka adventure often starts with one big question: where should I stay?
On my recent trip, I discovered a real gem – the Smile Hotel Premium Higashi Shinsaibashi.
It's perfectly located, just a 4-minute walk from the subway station and incredibly close to both Namba and Dotonbori.
Plus, at around ~$36 per night, it's an absolute steal for travelers looking for amazing value without compromising on location!
01. Location

📍 Smile Hotel Premium Osaka Higashi Shinsaibashi
2-chōme-13-17 Shimanouchi, Chuo Ward, Osaka, 542-0082 Japan
You'll find two convenient subway stations nearby: Nagahoribashi Station and Kintetsu-Nippombashi Station, both just a 4-minute walk away.
Dotonbori's vibrant main street is a quick 6-minute stroll,
and Namba Station is only about a 10-minute walk.
What's fantastic is that despite being so close to all the action,
the area around the hotel remains surprisingly quiet, allowing for a peaceful night's sleep.

Convenience is key here! Right next door to the hotel, there's a convenience store,
and even better, a local supermarket nearby.
I found this incredibly useful during my trip, as it offered a more affordable way to grab snacks and drinks compared to the convenience store.
02. Rooms, Price

The room condition was impeccably clean overall.
Even though it's an older property, it's clearly very well-maintained.
Honestly, I initially thought it would just be a place to crash and wasn't even planning on taking photos, but I was so pleasantly surprised by how great the room was that I quickly grabbed my camera..!

I stayed in the smallest option, the Standard Double Room.
While the overall footprint might be similar to other hotels, it felt considerably more spacious.
They've done an excellent job with the layout, fitting a comfortable double bed and a desk without any wasted space.

The desk was quite generous in size, perfect for getting some laptop work done.
The TV was on the smaller side, but honestly, most Japanese hotel TVs only offer local channels anyway, so it wasn't a big deal for me.

Japanese business hotel bathrooms can often feel cramped and a bit suffocating,
but this one was just right.
Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all provided, and the water pressure was excellent.

Checking prices for upcoming dates in June 2026,
a Standard Double Room is incredibly affordable across all platforms, typically ranging from ~$36-44.
That's fantastic value!

03. Standard Double Room Detailed Review

The room extends in a long, straight line from the hallway to the space beside the bed, which was perfect.
I could leave my suitcase in the hallway and still move around freely.
In Osaka, for this price point, it's often hard to even find enough space to fully open one suitcase, so this was a huge plus!

By the bed, you'll find a cozy robe, charging ports, and power outlets.
When you're traveling, you often have multiple devices to charge – phones, portable chargers, cameras – so convenient outlet placement is surprisingly important!
With several outlets by both the bed and the desk, two people could easily charge multiple devices without any issues.

Instead of having all amenities in the room, the hotel offers an amenity corner by the elevators where you can grab anything you need.
Basic items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, razors, and cotton swabs were all readily available.

Beyond that, essentials like an air purifier, refrigerator, and slippers were also provided in the room.

The lobby staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
The hotel also features a laundry room, luggage storage both before check-in and after check-out, and a 24-hour front desk, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free stay.
Having a convenience store and supermarket right next door,
being so close to the subway, and within easy walking distance of Dotonbori truly made this hotel a standout.
If you're looking for a clean, conveniently located, and budget-friendly place to stay in Osaka, I highly recommend the Smile Hotel Premium Higashi Shinsaibashi.
