When my friends and I were planning our Osaka trip,
the idea of visiting the Asahi Beer Factory came up.
So, since we were already in Osaka, we decided to book a tour
and went to visit!
I'll be sharing my review of experiencing everything from the Asahi Beer Factory tour,
to the draft beer tasting, and even getting a complimentary cold cup.
The Asahi Beer Factory in Osaka offers an incredibly rich experience
for an unbelievable price of just 1,000 JPY per person!
It includes a tour, a VR experience, two glasses of draft beer tasting, and even a complimentary Asahi glass,
making it an amazing value trip.
If you're a beer lover,
you absolutely shouldn't miss the chance to taste freshly brewed beer straight from the source!
Especially if you prefer experiential courses that operate on a reservation system
over crowded and chaotic tourist spots,
I highly, highly recommend the Asahi Beer Factory tour in Osaka!!

Must-Visit in Osaka: Asahi Beer Factory
The Asahi Beer Factory tour takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
The online reservation price is 1,000 JPY for adults (tax included)
Make sure to check the availability for your travel dates
using the online reservation system on the site below!
Since it's a popular spot even on weekdays,
I highly recommend booking about a month in advance!!
We had a 2:30 PM reservation, so after seeing the deer in Nara, Japan
early in the morning and grabbing some lunch nearby,
we rushed straight here! (It was a bit of a tight schedule!)
You can get off at JR Suita Station and walk;
you'll see signs and markers for the Asahi Beer Museum
all the way, so you won't get lost and can find it easily.

Since we were running a bit late, we had to rush,
and unfortunately, we didn't get to take photos at the photo zone, which was a slight bummer.
In the first-floor lobby of the Asahi Beer Factory, a must-visit spot in Osaka,
you'll see an information desk. Just tell them your reservation name,
and they'll kindly guide you.
Around the information desk, you'll find lockers to store your bags,
an interactive audio exhibit (?) about the Asahi Beer Factory, and displays
where you can learn about Asahi's history.
(No photos of this area, unfortunately...)
Next to the information desk, there's a kiosk where you can even
change the language to Korean.
It says the museum tour is 1,000 JPY per adult.
My friends and I each paid separately.
✅ Adults: 1,000 JPY
✅ Elementary school age and above ~ under 20 years old: 300 JPY
✅ Persons with disability certificate and one accompanying person (maximum 1):
Adults: 500 JPY
Elementary school age and above: 150 JPY
After completing your payment, the information desk will provide detailed explanations
about the tour. They'll also double-check if you're a designated driver
before putting a yellow wristband on you!
The reason we came to the Asahi Beer Factory!!
It's because you can enjoy up to two free samples per person!!
(Only those with yellow wristbands are eligible)
And while we waited for everyone entering at the same time,
the area was beautifully set up to explore Asahi's history!
Plus, at the Asahi Beer Factory, a must-visit spot in Osaka,
there's a theater where you can watch a presentation.
Once inside the theater, you watch a brief video on Asahi's history and brewing process,
and then the tour officially begins!
At this must-visit spot in Osaka, once the designated time arrives,
you follow the guide's instructions, and the full-fledged
Asahi factory tour kicks off!
First, you'll hear explanations about Asahi Beer's history and its ingredients,
and you can even see the actual hops and barley up close.
As you move along the Asahi Beer factory's production line,
you'll see that the bottling, can-filling, and packaging processes are all fully automated,
so there were definitely more machines than people!
And after seeing all the internal processes,
our guide suddenly pointed to the photo above and told us
that that tank was completely full of beer. I couldn't even begin to guess
how many tons that would be!
And since the factory tour takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes,
your legs might get tired, so don't forget to wear comfortable sneakers!
The final stop inside the factory is none other than beer tasting!!
To taste the beer, we headed down to the first-floor lobby and were guided to a slightly sectioned-off
tasting area.
You can check out the diverse lineup of beers that Asahi produces,
but not all of them are available for tasting.
(The beers available for tasting are pre-selected.)
The Asahi beer tasting area was quite spacious, more so than I expected,
and it was set up for slightly more people than the reservation count.
As you step into the tasting area with eager anticipation,
you're greeted by a long, continuous draft beer bar.
Each table had a tasting guide, and they even offered Asahi Zero, a non-alcoholic beer,
perfect for those who are lightweights or just prefer a refreshing, alcohol-free option!!

Simply follow these three guidelines to enjoy your two complimentary beers.
For your first drink, you can choose from five different beers!
✅ Super Dry (ABV 5%)
✅ Super Dry Extra Cold (ABV 5%)
✅ Asahi Super Dry Black (ABV 5%)
✅ Peroni (ABV 5%)
✅ Pilsner Urquell (ABV 4.4%)
For my first pour, I went with the Asahi Super Dry.
I'd tried Asahi Draft beer before, so...
It was a hot day, and I was craving something super refreshing!
The name of the beer is a bit fuzzy in my memory, but
I heard Asahi Super Dry Black is Asahi's signature dark lager,
and as a dark beer lover, when I tried it,
perhaps because it was freshly poured, it was absolutely delicious!
They also served some nuts and a slice of cheese to go with the draft beer,
which was a perfect pairing.
(And the crispness? Pure perfection...)
For your second tasting beer, if you choose the Super Dry Extra Cold,
you get to witness the Beer Foam Art in person!
The Beer Foam Art is crafted so beautifully,
it had every tourist snapping photos!
With the Super Dry Extra Cold, they elegantly place the Asahi Beer Museum design on top of the smooth beer foam,
and perhaps because it's Extra Cold, the foam is so robust
the printing lasts quite a long time!
After enjoying your tastings for 20 minutes in the tasting area,
it's a surprisingly short time, and you'll be drinking beer quite quickly,
so if you're a light drinker, I recommend pacing yourself!
And don't forget to check out the gift shop on your way out!
While the shop might look small, it offers a wide variety of merchandise,
including many unique items sold exclusively here.
You'll find everything from beer glasses and coasters to canned beer sets and snack pairings.
There's a fantastic range of Asahi Beer-related goods.
The tour itself is only about 1.5 hours,
so if you have about half a day free in your Osaka itinerary,
you can easily combine it with exploring Dotonbori or Umeda to fill up your day!
