Osaka Amazing Pass 2026: Free Attractions & One-Day Itinerary
Wondering what the Osaka Amazing Pass covers? Get the scoop on free attractions, usage tips, and a perfect one-day itinerary to maximize your 2026 Osaka trip!
While preparing for my Osaka trip,
after researching the Kansai Joy Pass, the next thing I looked into was
the Osaka Amazing Pass!
When you search for the Amazing Pass,
you'll hear about lots of free attractions and included transportation.
But honestly, it wasn't immediately clear
*where* exactly you could go or
*how* to plan your day to make the most of it.
So, as I was planning my own trip itinerary,
I decided to go through each official participating facility for 2026.

To cut straight to the chase:
if you're not someone who plans to visit *tons* of attractions,
but rather someone who wants to concentrate their Osaka city sightseeing
into one packed day,
then this pass is definitely worth calculating the cost for!

So, what exactly can you do with the Osaka Amazing Pass?
The Osaka Amazing Pass lets you use
Osaka city subways and buses, *and*
provides free entry to about 40 tourist facilities
without any extra admission fees.
There's no limit to the number of facilities
you can visit in a single day,
and each facility can be used once.
So, the key isn't
how many free facilities there are in total,
but rather how many of the places *you actually want to visit*
are included.

I've gone through all the official facilities and compiled a list
focusing on the most popular spots that travelers would likely want to see.

※ Rates and conditions can change, so
as your travel dates approach, it's a good idea to check
the official website one more time for the most up-to-date information.
There are some places to check even before looking at the pass details.
Looking through the list of included attractions,
there were some spots I'd definitely recommend checking in advance.
A prime example is the Umeda Sky Building.
The regular admission fee for the Kuchu Teien Observatory is 2,000 yen for adults,
but to get free admission with the Osaka Amazing Pass, you need to enter by 3 PM.
After 3 PM, it's no longer free admission;
it changes to a 10% discount upon presenting your pass.
So, if you're planning to include this spot,
instead of going there last to see the night view,
it's better to fit it into your afternoon itinerary.
Also, for cruises like the Dotonbori River Cruise or Wonder Cruise,
there are several types available.
Rather than trying to ride all of them just because they're covered by the pass,
it's more practical to choose one that fits your travel itinerary.

If you're traveling with kids, check the dates for LEGOLAND first!
If you're traveling to Osaka with kids,
the LEGOLAND Discovery Center might catch your eye.

The same-day price for ages 3 and up is 3,300 yen,
which might make the Osaka Amazing Pass seem very useful at first glance.
However, there are different conditions for use depending on the date.
For example, in September 2026,
there are specific dates for free admission,
and dates when entry is only possible after 2 PM,
among other conditions. You also need to make a designated entry time reservation
on the official website.
So, if you're considering the Osaka Amazing Pass mainly for LEGOLAND,
your first step should be to check if free admission is available on your travel dates.
That comes first!
So, how should you plan your day?
This is the part I was most curious about myself!
Even if you know all 20 included attractions,
if they're scattered all over Osaka,
it's tough to visit them all in one day, especially with kids.
That's why, instead of cramming in as many sights as possible,
I found a route like Osaka Castle → Umeda → Dotonbori
to be the most convenient to follow.
Recommended One-Day Osaka Amazing Pass Itinerary

Following this,
you can significantly reduce back-and-forth travel
and see everything from Osaka Castle to Umeda,
concluding with the Dotonbori night view.
If you're with kids, they might get tired in between, so
you can consider skipping the HEP FIVE Ferris Wheel
depending on their condition.

Calculating the costs for this itinerary...
If you only calculate the admission fees for the attractions in the itinerary above:
Osaka Castle Museum: 1,200 yen
Osaka Castle Gozabune Boat: 1,800 yen
Umeda Sky Building: 2,000 yen
HEP FIVE Ferris Wheel: 1,000 yen
Dotonbori River Cruise: 2,000 yen
Total based on individual fees: 8,000 yen
On top of that, the Osaka Amazing Pass covers
all your subway and bus travel for the day,
making it a comprehensive package.
Of course, you don't need to force yourself to visit all five places
just to reach the 8,000 yen value.
If I were actually traveling,
I'd probably prioritize Osaka Castle, the Gozabune Boat,
and the Umeda Sky Building as fixed stops.
For the Ferris wheel and cruise,
I'd decide based on the kids' condition.
The most accurate way is to calculate the individual prices for 3-4 places you definitely want to visit first,
and then compare that to the current selling price of the Osaka Amazing Pass.

Conversely, for this type of itinerary, is it really worth it?
Like our trip,
if your itinerary includes USJ, Kyoto, and Nara,
even if it's a 5-day, 4-night trip,
you might not need the Osaka Amazing Pass for the entire duration.

After spending a full day at USJ,
trying to squeeze in more attractions just to get your money's worth from the Osaka Amazing Pass
isn't realistic, especially with two kids.
Also, in Kyoto and Nara,
you won't be using the Osaka Amazing Pass attractions.
So, ultimately, what's more important than the length of your trip
is how many Osaka city attractions
you can visit in a single packed day.
If you have a Kansai Joy Pass,
check for overlapping attractions first.
For our trip, our USJ tickets
included a Kansai Joy Pass with 3 facility admissions,
and we had already reserved the Wonder Cruise using it.
However, the Wonder Cruise
is also an attraction covered by the Osaka Amazing Pass.
In such a case, when calculating the value of the Osaka Amazing Pass,
you shouldn't consider the Wonder Cruise's 2,000 yen as savings,
since you're already using a different pass for it.
If you're like me and looking into both the Joy Pass and the Osaka Amazing Pass,
it's a good idea to first check if there are any overlapping attractions
between the two passes.
Ultimately, this is the easiest way I found to look at it:
If you're debating whether to buy the Osaka Amazing Pass,
you don't need to look at all 40 included attractions.
Just check off the places you plan to visit on your itinerary
and add up the individual entrance fees.
Then, if you're going to use a lot of public transport that day,
compare that total with the price of the Osaka Amazing Pass.
Especially,
if your day includes 3 or more paid attractions
like Osaka Castle + a cruise + an observatory,
it's definitely a good idea to check the Osaka Amazing Pass price first,
rather than buying individual tickets for each one.
I used to think buying a pass was always the best deal,
but when I actually mapped out my itinerary,
I realized it's more about how you spend your day
than how long you're traveling.

Before purchasing, make sure to double-check the facility closures and usage conditions for your travel dates.

Also, according to the official announcements,
the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living is
scheduled for temporary closure
from September 1, 2026, to January 5, 2027.
So, don't plan your itinerary based solely on outdated blog posts about where to use the pass!
