If you are arriving in Madrid after a long flight and want to skip the stress of complicated transfers, finding a hotel with direct transit is a lifesaver. The 203 Airport Express bus drops you off literally steps away from Only YOU Hotel Atocha, making it our top recommendation for anyone visiting Spain!

We chose this spot to start our honeymoon, and it absolutely delivered on style, comfort, and unbeatable convenience.

Easy Boarding from Airport Terminal 1 (T1)

Once you land at Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) Terminal 1, head down to Planta 0 (Ground Floor) to find the airport express bus stop. The 203 bus runs directly to Atocha Station, which is an absolute blessing if you are traveling with heavy luggage. We had four large suitcases with us for our honeymoon, but boarding was incredibly smooth and hassle-free.

Spotting the 203 Airport Express Bus

Keep an eye out for this bright blue bus displaying 203 EST. ATOCHA on the front. The fare is a flat €5 (approximately $6). If you have a contactless travel card, there is no need to purchase a ticket beforehand—just tap and ride! The bus to Atocha runs regularly from 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM.

Arriving at Atocha Station

After a scenic 35 to 40-minute ride from the airport, you will arrive at this iconic view of Atocha Station. Only YOU Hotel Atocha is located directly across the street. There is no need to worry about getting lost or navigating complex maps—it is right there as soon as you step off the bus!

We highly recommend booking a room with breakfast, which is served on the stunning 7th-floor rooftop terrace. Enjoying breakfast while basking in the morning sun and looking out over the bustling Atocha Station is the ultimate way to start your day in Madrid!

After checking in, we headed out for dinner and were greeted by this gorgeous illuminated fountain right in the middle of the plaza. Seeing this made us realize we had truly arrived in Europe! The area is lively and well-lit, making evening walks feel safe and romantic.

Turn around from the fountain, and you are right back at the hotel entrance. The location is truly unbeatable, whether you need a convenient base before catching an early train or a central hub for sightseeing around the city.

Effortless Return to the Airport

When it is time to head home or move on to your next destination, simply walk back to the same bus stop in front of Atocha Station and hop on the 203 bus. We used this connection to catch our flight to Mallorca, saving us plenty of energy and taxi fares. We would stay at Only YOU Hotel Atocha again in a heartbeat!
