01. KE914 Basic Amenities and Seating

The in-flight items I received in Economy were a total of four:
in-flight slippers, earphones for in-flight entertainment,
a blanket, and one bottle of water.
Slippers, earphones, and a blanket are typically provided at each seat,
and once most passengers are seated,
flight attendants walk around distributing earphones.

Whenever I'm on a long-haul flight longer than 12 hours,
I always bring my own travel neck pillow.
But since there's also a small cushion provided at each seat,
think carefully about 'how to get the most comfortable sleep!'

Also, the KE914 seating had a 3-3-3 configuration.
For long-haul flights, I always choose an aisle seat,
so I picked an available aisle seat for this flight too.

Sitting for such a long time made my hips stiff,
so I often got up to stretch, and it was super convenient to go to the restroom.
You can use the restroom comfortably without worrying about bothering the person next to you!
However, if you're bothered by people walking past in the aisle
or want to get some deep sleep,
I'd recommend a window or middle seat instead!

This time, I wanted to experience a special in-flight meal, so I pre-ordered the seafood option.
In-flight meals were served a total of two times.
During the first meal service, everyone was patiently waiting for their food, but my special meal came out first, and everyone around me looked over.
It was a bit awkward for a moment, but I was happy to get my food quickly nonetheless, haha!

The first meal featured cod fillet as the main dish.
The cod fillet came with potatoes and zucchini, and a side salad and crackers were also provided.

The taste was mild and subtly seasoned.
Since it wasn't heavily seasoned, it felt a bit plain at first, but eating it with the accompanying crackers and salad...
The cod fillet was a little dry, but it was still okay.

For the second meal, a tuna omelet was served.
It had a savory and familiar taste, which made me feel oddly pleased, and I really enjoyed eating it.
However, it was a bit disappointing that the portion size was small. T_T
If you're someone who wants a filling meal,
I recommend sticking with the regular in-flight meal that comes with rice.
Nevertheless, it was much more delicious than the cod fillet meal served earlier, haha!

Personally, I think it's worth trying a special in-flight meal at least once.
For one, special in-flight meals are served before regular meals, and you can choose them based on your preferences,
So, especially if you need a vegetarian meal or a baby/child meal, definitely consider ordering one!
