If you're planning a trip to Northern Okinawa, I've got a fantastic restaurant recommendation for you – especially if you're visiting the Churaumi Aquarium!

It's called Inubi (INUBI), and it's nestled right in the heart of Northern Okinawa.

This charming spot offers exquisitely prepared Japanese home-style dishes in a delightful, cozy atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious, and the owners are incredibly friendly, making for a truly satisfying dining experience.

1. Your Culinary Stop in Northern Okinawa

Inubi is an excellent Japanese home-style restaurant, perfect for anyone exploring Northern Okinawa. Its convenient location makes it an ideal stop to pair with a visit to the Churaumi Aquarium. I personally enjoyed a delightful lunch here before heading to the aquarium.

However, keep in mind that the restaurant is quite small with limited seating. Therefore, securing a reservation before your visit is absolutely essential!

2. How to Reserve Your Table at Inubi

Seriously, you MUST make a reservation before visiting Inubi! Because of its small size and immense popularity, it's best to book as early as possible to guarantee your preferred dining time. I reached out to them about 2-3 weeks in advance to secure my spot.

The reservation process is straightforward: simply send a direct message (DM) to their official Instagram account. Provide your desired date, time, and the number of people in your party, and they'll promptly let you know about availability. Their responses are always incredibly friendly and helpful!

As your reservation date approaches, they'll even send a reminder message, which I found incredibly thoughtful. This message will also highlight two crucial points:

⭐️ Payment is cash only.

⭐️ If you're late for your reservation, it might be canceled.

Inubi opens for lunch at 11:00 AM. They only serve lunch, and they might close earlier than expected if they run out of ingredients, so keep that in mind.

I initially tried to book for 11:00 AM, but it was already full, so I opted for a 12:00 PM slot instead. Enjoying a delicious lunch at noon and then heading to the Churaumi Aquarium made for a perfectly smooth itinerary!

3. Parking at Inubi

Driving to Inubi, this Northern Okinawa gem, is quite convenient. There are approximately three parking spots available directly in front of the building. If those are full, don't worry – additional parking is available across the street. So, if you're exploring Okinawa by rental car, you won't have to stress much about finding a spot.

4. Inside Inubi: Ambiance & Seating

Stepping inside, I was immediately struck by the charming and warm atmosphere! It had that quintessential cozy, unpretentious Japanese home-style restaurant vibe.

There aren't many tables, and the space is quite intimate, which only adds to its friendly and inviting feel. Enjoying authentic Japanese home cooking in such a delightful setting? My excitement was already through the roof!

We chose a cozy spot along the wall for our meal.

5. Inubi Menu Recommendations: What to Order!

Inubi offers a standard menu, but they also have daily specials. Don't worry if you're not fluent in Japanese; the staff is super helpful and will show you a translated version of the daily recommendations using a phone translator. This made choosing our meals incredibly easy!

We ordered two delicious sets:

🤍 White Fish with Chili Mayonnaise Set

While the Chicken Nanban was fantastic, the White Fish set truly stole the show for me! I usually lean towards meat over fish, but this was a delightful exception.

The white fish was incredibly tender, perfectly complemented by a crispy batter and a delicious chili mayonnaise sauce. From the very first bite, I knew this was a dish you absolutely *have* to try!

We shared both the Chicken Nanban and the White Fish set. While both were incredibly tasty, if I had to recommend just one, it would definitely be the White Fish set.

And the side dishes that came with our sets were equally delicious! Each component of the Japanese home-style meal was thoughtfully prepared and perfectly seasoned. They were so good, in fact, that we even asked for refills, which the friendly staff happily provided.

To top it all off, our meal concluded with a delightful dessert cake and a choice of coffee or iced tea. It was truly a perfect lunch, from the main course right through to dessert!

If you're planning to visit the Churaumi Aquarium in Northern Okinawa, I highly recommend adding Inubi to your itinerary. The charming atmosphere, authentic Japanese home-style cuisine, and friendly service made it a truly satisfying experience.
