Are you planning a family trip to Beijing, China this year? If so, your first hurdle is probably finding the right accommodation. Unlike standard double rooms, finding a great room that comfortably fits three people can be surprisingly tricky.
Today, I'm sharing my full review of The North Garden Hotel Wangfujing, a property I carefully selected and booked for our family of three. If you're hunting for a spacious and affordable triple room in 2026, keep reading!
❗️ Pro Tip: I'll also share where I found the cheapest booking rates below, so be sure to check that out.

Why Location Matters: The Wangfujing Advantage
When I book accommodation for independent travel, I always aim for the most bustling downtown areas. In Beijing, one of those prime spots is Wangfujing. It's an absolute must-visit district packed with famous restaurants, trendy cafes, and endless shopping.
As the name suggests, The North Garden Hotel Beijing Wangfujing is located right in the heart of this district. ✅ It sits just about 0.2 miles from the subway station, making transit access incredibly easy.
Because Wangfujing is filled with major shopping centers like the APM Mall, there is always a healthy flow of foot traffic. ✅ This makes the area feel incredibly safe, even late at night.
Plus, famous late-night dining spots—like the legendary Henjiu Yiqian lamb skewer restaurant—are open well past midnight. It's the perfect setup for grabbing a midnight snack before taking a short, safe stroll back to your hotel.

Another personal favorite feature? There's a fairly large supermarket right on the first floor of the hotel! Being able to grab fresh fruit or quirky local snacks—like cucumber-flavored Lay's potato chips—on our way up to the room each night was a game-changer.
Where's the Best Place to Book?
You're probably wondering about the cost. Despite being a solid 4-star hotel, The North Garden Hotel offers incredible value. You can book a Family Room for three people for around ~$115 to ~$130 on weekdays. It's an absolute steal for this location!
💡 I always recommend comparing a few sites before booking. For hotels in China, Trip.com and Agoda almost always offer the cheapest rates.

Check-In and Lobby Experience

While the lobby shows a bit of its age, it was spotless, and the check-in process was a breeze. We simply handed over our passports, and the staff quickly pulled up our reservation.
Armed with our room keys and three complimentary disposable toothbrushes from the front desk, we headed up to the 10th floor.
Our Family Room was tucked away at the very end of the 10th-floor hallway. Looking down from the corridor, we could see the hotel's restaurant below. We didn't dine there during our stay, but it's a super convenient option if you prefer eating in.
There's also a cozy lounge area with sofas at the end of the lobby if you need a place to relax while waiting.
Inside the Family Room (Room 1040)
We booked the Family Room for three people and were assigned Room 1040. The door operates on a simple tap-to-unlock keycard system.
Upon entering, the bathroom is immediately to your left, and the main living space opens up ahead. I was genuinely surprised by how spacious and airy the room felt—I instantly knew I made the right choice booking this hotel. Even my parents were impressed with the quality of the room!

Designed for three, the room featured one plush double bed and one single bed. The double bed was incredibly soft and comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The single bed was slightly firmer, acting more like a daybed, but still perfectly comfortable for sleeping.

Along the wall, there's a work desk and chair, a large mirror, a mini-fridge, and a spacious closet. Conveniently, the room is equipped with multi-plug outlets, meaning you likely won't even need to dig out your international travel adapters!

Basic amenities like bottled water, mugs, tea bags, and an electric kettle were provided, saving us a trip to the store for water. There were also cozy slippers tucked under the nightstand, so no need to pack your own.
Beyond the desk, the room also featured a comfortable seating area with a sofa. It was the perfect spot for our family to wind down together after a long day of sightseeing.
With the round coffee table in front of the sofa, it was the ideal setup for enjoying late-night cup noodles or spreading out takeout boxes.
Being on the 10th floor, the view wasn't half bad either! Even with buildings across the street, you get a solid, sweeping look at the Beijing skyline. The view definitely exceeded my expectations!
Bathroom & Amenities

Moving on to the bathroom. The space is quite large and features a glass partition separating the shower area from the toilet, which kept everything clean and dry.

The shower was fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, so you don't need to worry about lugging bulky travel bottles from home.
A quick tip: While you can grab toothbrushes from the lobby, the provided toothpaste tubes are incredibly tiny. I highly recommend packing your own toothpaste from home!
Housekeeping replaced our towels daily, keeping everything fresh and fluffy throughout our stay.
Final Thoughts
Our family of three had a fantastic experience at The North Garden Hotel Wangfujing. If we plan another family trip to Beijing, I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again.
✅ First and foremost, the location near Wangfujing subway station and major shopping malls makes accessing restaurants and cafes incredibly easy.
Having a supermarket on the ground floor was a massive bonus for our nightly snack runs. But above all, the room was spacious, spotless, and comfortable enough to keep the whole family happy.
If you're struggling to find the perfect family accommodation in Beijing,
▶️ I wholeheartedly recommend The North Garden Hotel Wangfujing!
