Planning your Osaka trip? Learn how the Nankai Rapit offers a comfortable, direct journey from Kansai Airport to Namba. Get tips on booking, prices, and timetables for your 2026 travel.

As I was mapping out my Osaka adventure, a big question popped up:
How would I get from Kansai Airport (KIX) to Namba?
Sure, the airport express trains are cheaper, but the thought of hauling my luggage and scrambling for a seat right after a long flight? No thanks!

That's where the **Nankai Rapit comes in. With a journey as fast as 34 minutes and all reserved seating**, it's the most comfortable way to reach Namba, especially if your accommodation is in that area.
But when I started looking into booking, things got a bit confusing – prices, round-trip options, specific train times...
So, I'm here to clear up all those questions I had while booking my own Rapit tickets!
1. Why Choose the Rapit?

My main reason for taking the Rapit isn't just the speedy 34-minute ride.
**It's the peace of mind that comes with reserved seating.** You don't have to lug your bags around the airport trying to find an empty spot; you can just sit down in your pre-booked seat and relax.
This makes it an absolute must-do for families, those traveling with elderly parents, or anyone who simply wants a stress-free start (or end) to their trip!

Especially on your return journey, missing a preferred train can throw off your flight schedule, which is the last thing you want!
That's why, once my Osaka itinerary is set, I prioritize booking my return Rapit ticket even before my arrival one.
2. Rapit Price Comparison

I've compared one-way prices for the Osaka Rapit below:
Klook | KKDAY | MyRealTrip |
~$9 | ~$9 | ~$9 |
When I checked, Klook offered the most competitive price.
Plus, if two adults are booking round-trip tickets, you might be able to apply a coupon code.
The coupon code is:
세시간전260001
This coupon provides a ~$1 discount for two adults booking round-trip tickets.

3. One-Way vs. Round-Trip Tickets

Initially, I considered buying just a one-way ticket for my arrival and booking the return later.
However, if your accommodation is in Namba and you plan to take the Rapit back to Kansai Airport for your departure, you'll end up taking it twice anyway.
**If your travel itinerary is already set, I found it much more convenient to book a round-trip ticket all at once.**

If a round-trip option isn't available, you can simply purchase two one-way tickets for your arrival and departure dates.
I highly recommend securing your return journey in advance, as popular time slots for reserved seats can fill up quickly.

4. Timetable & Booking Times
The Rapit generally operates every 30 minutes.
Route | Day Type | First Train | Last Train |
Kansai Airport → Namba | Weekdays | 06:53 AM | 11:00 PM |
Kansai Airport → Namba | Weekends & Holidays | 07:06 AM | 10:55 PM |
Namba → Kansai Airport | Weekdays | 06:00 AM | 10:00 PM |
Namba → Kansai Airport | Weekends & Holidays | 06:00 AM | 10:00 PM |
When booking my arrival train, I never pick a time that matches my flight's landing exactly.

Between immigration and baggage claim, it takes time. So, I usually look for trains **1 to 1.5 hours after my scheduled arrival time.**
For my departure train, I allow even more buffer time.
You certainly don't want to miss your flight, so calculate your airport check-in time first, then choose your train accordingly.

5. Booking & Seat Assignment

Once you purchase your ticket online, you'll receive a **mobile voucher**.
From there, you can specify your travel date, route, and choose your preferred Rapit train and seat.

The Nankai Digital Ticket system uses a **QR code that you scan at the turnstile to enter**.
While you can assign your seat up to 5 minutes before departure, I personally don't like cutting it that close when I'm traveling!
It's much easier to secure your seats as soon as your itinerary is finalized.

6. How to Ride from Kansai Airport to Namba

From Kansai Airport, after you collect your luggage, simply **follow the 'Railways' signs on the 2nd floor.**
After crossing the connecting bridge, you'll see both JR and NANKAI ticket gates.
Here's the crucial part: make sure you enter through the **NANKAI gates, not JR!**

Scan your QR code to enter, then check the **electronic display board for your train time and platform number.**
Returning can be even more confusing.
Remember, the Rapit departs from **Nankai Namba Station, not Osaka Namba Station.**

Head to the 3rd-floor ticket gates at Nankai Namba Station, scan your QR code, and check the display for your Rapit platform.
To sum it up, if your accommodation is in Namba, the Rapit is definitely the most convenient choice.

While the Airport Express saves you a few bucks, the Rapit's biggest advantage isn't just speed, but the comfort of a reserved seat, allowing you to travel with your luggage hassle-free.
My advice? As soon as your itinerary is locked in, compare prices and, if you're taking a round trip, secure your return seats right away!

Upon checking the article, Klook was the cheapest at ~$9. KKDAY was ~$9, and MyRealTrip was ~$9.
If two adults book a round trip, you can use the coupon code '세시간전260001'. Applying this coupon code will give you a discount of ~$1.
You should board at Nankai Namba Station, not Osaka-Namba Station. At the 3rd-floor ticket gate of Nankai Namba Station, scan your QR code and check the electronic display for the Rapit platform.
For arrivals at the airport, it's recommended to look for trains starting 1 to 1.5 hours after your flight's landing time. For departures, it's advisable to allow more time, calculating your airport check-in time to ensure you don't miss your flight.
