Nami Island: A Must-Visit for Your Autumn Adventures in Korea!
More beautiful to visit in autumn than in spring or summer,
Nami Island, one of the best getaways near Seoul,
comes alive when the trees across the island turn brilliant reds and golds,
and fallen leaves begin to carpet the ground.
The atmosphere is simply magical, even if you just take a leisurely stroll!

If it's your first time visiting Nami Island, which you reach by ferry,
you might be wondering whether to buy your admission ticket on-site or in advance.
Many curious explorers like you probably have this question.
Today, I'm here to help you make the most of your Nami Island trip without overspending.
I'll cover Nami Island admission ticket prices, how to get the maximum discount,
and even some fun activities to enjoy once you're there.
Let's dive into all the details in this post!

if you book in advance, you can save more than ~$1 per person!

Even better, you can enter simply by scanning the QR code from your booked ticket,
which means you'll save precious time by skipping the ticket line.
During peak season, advance booking is absolutely essential!
After comparing various ticket websites,
Trip.com currently offers the best prices,
and even the on-site staff recommend booking through Trip.com.

2. Fun Activities on Nami Island

On your way to Nami Island, instead of the round-trip ferry,
you can choose to ride the zipline for a more unique and thrilling entrance
to the island!

On Nami Island, you can rent Hanbok (traditional Korean attire)
or vintage school uniforms. Dress up in beautiful Hanbok or retro uniforms
to take 'Insaeng Ne-cut' (photo booth pictures) or capture stunning, autumn-themed photos
with nature as your backdrop.

From regular bicycles to 'sky bikes' and even family bicycles,
there's a wide variety of bikes available.
You can rent one during your stroll to enjoy the refreshing weather and scenic views.

You'll see many dogs out for a walk,
and it's delightful to encounter various animals like squirrels, peacocks, and ostriches!
3. Must-Visit Spots on Nami Island

The Metasequoia Lane is arguably the most iconic spot that comes to mind when you think of Nami Island.
This path, lined with tall, straight trees on both sides, is perfect for photos,
And in autumn, as the surrounding landscape transforms with vibrant colors,
the atmosphere completely changes – it's breathtaking!

You can immerse yourself in the autumn ambiance,
strolling between the golden ginkgo trees
and the crimson maple trees.
If you time your visit just right, you'll be greeted by a world
entirely blanketed in yellow as ginkgo leaves fall to the ground.

You can also explore the ongoing exhibitions at places like
the UNICEF International Children's Library and the Music Museum.
Plus, there's a great variety of souvenir shops and delicious food options!
4. Pro Tips to Bookmark!

You can't bring vehicles onto Nami Island,
so you'll need to park at the ferry dock and take a boat.
Search for 1024 Bukhangangbyeon-ro, Gapyeong-eup, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do
and park in any available spot among parking lots 1-4 around the ferry dock.
Current Official Parking Fees:
Small Cars: ~$4 / Large Cars: ~$7
Standard Fee Application Time: First 12 hours
For over 12 hours: additional ~$1 per hour

If you pre-register for Kakao T mobile payment,
you can get a discounted rate of ~$4, regardless of car size.
Please note that parking fees can only be paid by card.
If you're planning a day trip like me,
spending just a few hours exploring Nami Island before heading back,
then you'll only need to consider the basic parking fee.

The ferry boarding point isn't on Nami Island itself,
but at the Nami Island Ferry Dock located in Gapyeong.
From the dock, the boat ride to Nami Island is quick,
taking only about 5 minutes.

Generally, the first ferry to Nami Island
departs at 8 AM and the last at 9 PM.
However, during the 2026 autumn season, from September 18th to November 22nd,
ferries operate starting from 7:30 AM.
Also, on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays,
the last ferry runs until 9:30 PM.
As it can get quite crowded during peak fall foliage season,
if you want to take your time capturing photos,
visiting early in the morning is a great strategy!

Is the Nami Island entrance ticket separate from the ferry fare?
This is a common point of confusion for first-time visitors.
The standard Nami Island entrance ticket
includes round-trip ferry passage.
The current official standard admission fee is ~$14,
but if you purchase in advance, it's more than ~$1 cheaper,
so you'll miss out if you don't buy a discounted ticket!
Since it can get very busy on autumn weekends,
I recommend preparing your tickets in advance
and entering in the morning.

Before you head to Nami Island, make sure to book your tickets,
check out all the fun activities and must-see spots,
and then go enjoy your incredible autumn trip in Korea!🍁🍂
