When I visited,
the hot weather made it quite tiring,
but now, with the autumn weather,
it would be perfect for exploring everywhere!

Based on my personal visit,
I'll introduce you to the must-visit spots at Petit France and Italy Village in Gapyeong,
(Recommended Route, How to Get to Drama Filming Locations, Performances)

It's like a small French village has been transplanted here, and from the moment I entered, there were so many spots to take photos.
And right next door,
Pinocchio and Da Vinci, Italy Village (이탈리아마을 피노키오와 다빈치) is also there,
so you can explore both places at once.
Attractions in Gapyeong's Italy Village Date Course |
#AutumnTravel

It all begins with a flower-decorated carriage as the starting point!

As you head inside,
right in front of the village entrance, you'll find a spot where you can hang love locks!
The price for a lock was about ₩5,000 (~$4),
and since they were heart-shaped, they were so pretty I almost didn't want to hang one…🤣
Food |

Food & Snacks
You can't forget the snacks, right? Haha.
You'll start to get hungry while exploring, and there were simple snacks available.
As a sweet & spicy and salty & savory lover, I had takoyaki +_+ and chocolate ice cream. You just can't resist ice cream when you're traveling, right? Haha!
(Location: Inside the shopping street on the way to Da Vinci Plaza)

At the shopping street near the entrance,
there was also a place where you could try on masks for free,
adding a touch of simple fun!!

After passing the central theater,
on the way to Venice Street (베네치아 거리),
there were so many flowers in bloom, perfect for burst photography 😊

If you climb the stairs amidst the flowers and turn left,
you'll find Venice Street below 🥺

The buildings are full of cute, colorful shades of pink and yellow,
making photos look absolutely adorable 😆
Even though it's a model, hop on a gondola
and capture some beautiful keepsake photos!~!
Viewing Times |
And one of the things I found quite fascinating at Petit France
was the Marionette show.
🎭 Performance Schedule
❤️ Little Red Riding Hood Performance Times
* 12:00
* 15:30
🎪 Marionette Performance Times
* 10:00
* 14:30
* 16:30

To be honest, before I went, I actually thought I'd just snap a few photos in front of the pretty European-style buildings,
and that 1-2 hours would be enough, but
there was surprisingly a lot to see,
so I ended up staying for almost 4-5 hours!
Especially, I was amazed the whole time by how fast and dazzling the puppeteers' hand movements were, haha!
Even as an adult, I felt like I'd returned to my childhood for a moment,
so imagine how much more excited kids would be, right? hehe
When I visited, the main performances seemed to conclude around 4:30 PM,
so if you want to catch a show, keep this in mind!!
(First-come, first-served admission :> No reservations needed)

Of course, if you quickly see all the exhibits
and skip the performances, you could definitely spend a much shorter time there, but...
✔️ Watch the Pinocchio & Marionette Puppet Show at the Italian Village (이탈리아마을)
✔️ Explore the Antique Props Exhibition at Petite France (쁘띠프랑스)
✔️ Find beautiful photo spots and enjoy some photo ops
✔️ Attend the Music Box Demonstration
✔️ Grab some snacks
If you plan to experience all of these,
it's much more relaxed to set aside about half a day.
Personally, I recommend visiting early in the morning
and planning your itinerary to see both places together!
Gapyeong (가평) Date Course: Things to See at Petite France Village |

On the hillside path leading into the village,
there's a photo spot where you can see the entire village panorama. Make sure to capture a photo with it in the background!
The scenery was so beautiful that I kept snapping photos on the way,
and it was a view I would have regretted not capturing.

Petite France (쁘프) Entrance
Additionally,
I didn't consider the optimal route, so I explored the French Village (프랑스 마을) first,
but if you're visiting both locations,
I recommend seeing them in this order: Italian Village → Petite France
for your route!
The Italian Village is located uphill,
and the French Village is at the bottom, near the exit path.
This route will be much more convenient!~
Music Box House (오르골 하우스) |

# A place to rest, the impressive Music Box Demonstration
There was also a demonstration that explained music boxes
and showed the actual playing process!
(# Approx. 15 minutes of explanation for the viewing time,
and after the explanation, about 10 minutes to partially wind them yourself!)
You can actually hear the sound of music boxes that are hundreds of years old,
and it was incredible that they still worked! '0'
Although I initially watched it just to sit down and rest,
after seeing the performance, it actually stayed in my memory for a long time.!!!
It might also be a good idea to check the performance schedule first
and then plan your exhibition viewing order around it.

It was cool inside,
and having places to sit and restrooms made it a great spot to take a break!!
After taking some photos, I recommend taking a break in the middle
and listening to the music as a relaxing interlude!
Also, there were more hills and stairs to climb and descend than I expected,
so, I highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes if possible!

Various Exhibitions and Props
What particularly impressed me was the surprisingly large number of European-style antique props!
I initially thought it was just a place with beautifully decorated building exteriors,
but when I went inside, I found it filled with old furniture, household items, and decorative pieces,
making it really enjoyable to explore each one.
Apparently, the owner personally traveled all over the world
and gathered these antique collections, which you can see displayed here.
Perhaps because of this, each exhibition room had a slightly different atmosphere, so time flew by as I slowly took everything in. Hahaha.

Along with paintings, like optical illusion art...
There are also spaces for taking photos, so make sure to explore every floor!
European Doll Exhibition Hall |

The antique doll exhibition was a bit spooky, haha!
Dolls dressed in very feminine clothes were displayed everywhere,
but maybe it's just the unique vibe of old dolls, I found them a bit creepy, lol!
They feel like they'd be a little scarier at night...😂
Nevertheless, if you usually enjoy antique items or a vintage atmosphere, this is a fascinating place to explore!

On the way to the Fountain Plaza, there was a narrow spiral iron staircase.
If you go up, you can ring the Bell of Love 🔔 just like in the picture,
and enjoy this amazing view, so if you're with your significant other, definitely check it out!
Photo Tips for Numerous Drama & Film Filming Locations |

# Running Man, Vincenzo, My Love from the Star, etc.
Petite France in Gapyeong is famous as a filming location.
And many visitors to Petite France are
most curious about the filming locations!
Since it's long been known as a popular drama and film set, as you wander around,
you'll find spots that make you think, “Huh? I think I've seen this place before!”

At first, I saw the area near the fountain and thought,
“Is this the filming location?”
So I spent a long time looking around and even had a snack.
But it turns out,

the main filming location was a bit further down.
So, if you're looking for the filming spot, don't stop at the first similar-looking area,
you need to go a bit further inside to find it, so don't get lost!~

[The Little Prince (어린왕자), a Fairytale of Memories]
The Little Prince exhibition, themed after The Little Prince.
Seeing an exhibition related to The Little Prince, a story I encountered as a child,
made my heart feel all warm and fuzzy...!!!
There's also a space where children can wear clothes for free
and take photos,
so it seems like a perfect theme park to visit with kids, haha!

[Maison de Marie (메종드 마리)]
Finding the bedroom scene from 'Tyrant's Chef' (폭군의 셰프) made my mood go UP ↗
I really enjoyed that drama,
and finding out this place was featured in 'Tyrant's Chef' made me think,
I stumbled upon it by chance and was so thrilled, lol!

Here's how to get there:
Go all the way to the very, very end exit of Petite France. If you go down,
you'll see a yellow building.
Go through that door, and you'll find the filming location '-'ㅎ
And this is where our route officially ends!
Another tip I noticed during my visit!
If your goal is to take photos, I recommend not visiting too late!
We arrived around noon and started exploring,
but we stayed longer than expected, and the sun had set by the time we left.
If you want to capture lots of photos of the beautiful buildings and fountains,
it's a good idea to snap pictures of the main photo zones early on after entry!
