I recently visited **Naju Jungheung Gold Spa Water락**!
If you're searching for a water park in Gwangju or Naju,
chances are you've stumbled upon this gem at least once, right?
Naju Jungheung Gold Spa is known as
the largest and most thrilling water park in Jeollanam-do,
making it a hot topic for families looking for summer aquatic fun.
Having experienced it firsthand, I realized there are quite a few things that, if known in advance,
can make your visit much smoother and more enjoyable.
So today, I'll be sharing a comprehensive guide, from **Naju Jungheung Gold Spa Water락's operating hours and information**,
to **what to pack, and even a review of the indoor and outdoor attractions**.
Let's **dive in**!

June Operation | Operates Saturdays and Sundays from June 13th until the last weekend of June |
July-August | Expected to operate daily on weekdays and weekends |
Parking | Free parking available |
Parking Tip | For closer spots, arriving at opening is recommended |
Although fully open in June, the park primarily operates on weekends,
However, from **July to August, it's scheduled to operate daily**.
The parking lot is incredibly spacious.
However, water park visits often involve a lot of gear,
and you'll find your energy levels plummet after a fun-filled day.
If you prefer to park closer to the entrance,
it's definitely more convenient to arrive right when they open their doors.
2. Ticket Prices and Discounted Purchase Methods
Water락 On-site Purchase Discount Cards

Affiliate cards include Gwangju VISA, Samsung Card, BC Card,
and Hyundai Card, which offers discounts via point deduction.
Local residents can also enjoy discounts: 20% off for Naju residents,
and an impressive 40% off for Nampyeong and Dado residents.
However, remember that proof of residency, such as an ID card, is required,
so if you're eligible, make sure to bring the necessary documents!
Water락 Admission Fees and Discounted Booking Methods

Water락 admission tickets aren't just available for purchase on-site;
you can also buy them conveniently online.
Category | July 1st ~ 16th | July 17th ~ 31st |
Adult | ~$52 → ~$34 | ~$52 → ~$37 |
Child | ~$44 → ~$29 | ~$44 → ~$33 |
* Child age: Elementary school students (13 years old and under) / Infants under 36 months enter free
Once you've made your online purchase, you can bypass the traditional ticket counter queue and directly issue your tickets at the kiosk next to the on-site ticket office.
This not only saves time but also allows you to purchase at a discounted price even if you don't qualify for affiliate card discounts.

You can purchase tickets on Naver or MyRealTrip,
and the prices and conditions are the same.

However, if you pay through MyRealTrip,
there are various discounts depending on the payment method,
so I was able to snag a better deal!
You can't use tickets purchased on the same day, so make sure to buy at least one day in advance.
Don't worry, if you don't use them, they're refundable, so you can plan ahead, and I highly recommend preparing in advance to save some extra bucks!

3. Food Policy & Packing Checklist
Food Carry-In Regulations
Naju Jungheung Gold Spa's
food carry-in policy was stricter than I expected!

You can only bring in clear sports drinks,
water, baby food, and special dietary food.
Consider all other food and beverages prohibited.
They actually check bags at the entrance, so be prepared!
What to Bring & Dress Code
Category | Details |
Essentials | Swimsuit, hat |
Hat | Baseball caps, swimming caps, hats with brims are allowed *Wide-brimmed hats to block the sun are recommended |
Not Allowed | Regular t-shirts, regular shorts |
Goggles | Allowed |
Snorkel mask | Not Allowed |
Personal tube | Allowed, air pump available |
Beach towel | Available for rent, ~$4 |
Life vest | Personal ones allowed, rent for ~$5 |
Toiletries | Face cleanser, shampoo, body wash recommended to bring separately *Can also be purchased inside |

Wearing aqua shoes wasn't mandatory.
While many people went without them, if you're visiting with kids, bringing them along will make your life easier.
However, aqua trail shoes with heels might be restricted, so low-cut aqua shoes for water play are a safe bet.
The aqua shoes I wore, with a modest sole, were perfectly fine!
Swimwear Shop & Life Vest Rental

If you forgot to pack something essential or
decide to visit on a whim, no worries at all!
Jungheung Gold Spa Waterlak has a swimwear and
water play accessories shop right inside.

Life jacket rental costs ~$5.
You can pay by card at the kiosk to get a rental voucher,
then pick up your life jacket at the rental counter after entering.

With the prepaid wristband charging system discontinued,
your wristband now only functions as a key.
You'll need to use your card for payments inside,
so it's a great idea to bring your phone and card in a waterproof pouch.
Shower Room Amenities

For the women's showers,
there were no toiletries provided besides soap.
However, you can purchase items from card-payment vending machines and the convenience store.
There were plenty of towels and plastic bags for wet clothes available in the shower room,
and hair dryers could be used without coins.
The men's showers reportedly only had soap and shower towels.
4. Indoor & Outdoor Facilities and Attraction Reviews
Naju Jungheung Gold Spa is fantastic for families with kids,
offering fun from its indoor spaces to the expansive outdoors.
The indoor area is perfect for relaxing and keeping warm,
while the outdoor area really delivers that full-fledged water park thrill!
So, for families seeking a swimming spot in Jeonnam, Gwangju, or Naju,
this makes for an excellent day trip.
Jungheung Gold Spa Waterrock Indoor Hyuansu

The indoor area is a true haven, with a variety of offerings like
massage spa pools featuring water jets, an indoor lazy river, and a lively kids' pool.
It looked like a great place to play inside, even on rainy days.

With body temperature maintenance rooms and inviting food courts available,
it's perfect for recharging between water adventures or for enjoying with little ones and older family members.
Jungheung Gold Spa Waterrock Outdoor Rainbow Ocean

The Jungheung Gold Spa Waterrock outdoor area, Rainbow Ocean,
truly lives up to its reputation as Jeonnam's largest water park, boasting
a massive wave pool, the Amazon River lazy river, and a thrilling array of attractions.

You'll also find body temperature maintenance pools dotted throughout the outdoor area,
perfect for those rainy or cloudy days.
It was cloudy on the day I visited, but since it was already summer, it wasn't cold at all.

Most major attractions were available for those 120cm or taller,
but the Pro Bowl Slide has a 150cm minimum, so it's a good idea to check your child's height beforehand.
Here are the rider capacity and height restrictions for each attraction:
Type | Attraction | Height Restriction |
Single rider | Pro Bowl Slide | 150cm or taller |
Single rider | Body Slide | Over 120cm |
For 1 person | Racing Slide | Over 120cm |
For 1 person | Amazon River | Over 120cm |
For 2 people | Family Slide | Over 120cm |
For 2-3 people | Water Rollercoaster | Over 120cm |
For 4 people | Tornado | Over 120cm |
Main Attraction Reviews

The Wave Pool wasn't designed for one massive wave to crash in;
instead, it felt like continuous, gentle undulating waves.

Actually, the Amazon River had periodic
big waves, which we found even more exciting.

The Tornado slide takes four people at a time,
and if there weren't enough people, the staff would kindly help match us up with others on the spot.

We had to carry the huge four-person tube up ourselves,
which was a bit of a workout, but it turned out to be really fun once we rode it!
Just a tip: don't put your bottom too deep into the tube, or you might scrape against the slide.
Find a comfy spot! :)

I was a bit scared to try the Racing Slide, so only my son rode it,
but he said it was waaaaay faster than expected!
Highly recommended for the brave at heart!

The Water Rollercoaster was definitely our favorite ride.
On the downhill sections, like the one in the right photo,
the tube actually felt like it was lifting slightly,
which made it much more exciting than we anticipated!

It seemed to be a popular attraction, as we occasionally saw signs indicating 50 to 60-minute wait times.
5. Practical Tips Before Visiting with Kids
Time-Saving Tips
We brought two life vests with us
and only rented one on-site.

The rental spot is located in the outdoor Rainbow Ocean area,
so queues started forming to go outside even before the outdoor section opened at 10 AM.
If you plan to rent life vests,
it's a great time-saving strategy to head there before the outdoor area officially opens.
Also, for popular attractions, we recommend trying them early to beat the queues.
When heading from indoors to outdoors,
moving to the left will lead you most directly to the Tornado and Racing Slide,
while moving to the right is the quickest route to the Water Rollercoaster.
Recommended Free Resting Areas
Even if you don't rent a cabana or sunbed,
there were still some decent spots available to relax.

We left our belongings on the floor space in front of the indoor body temperature maintenance room,
and it was a good spot for taking breaks.
Food Court Guide
✅ 1st Floor: The Beach, BBQ Chicken, Rice Noodles, Jokbal (Pork Hock), etc.

The food court offers quite a variety, from snacks and full meals to fast food,
*bunsik* (Korean street food), rice noodles, *jokbal* (pork hock), and even chicken.
The options were more diverse than I expected!

On the 1st floor, you'll find The Beach and BBQ Chicken.
They also sell dishes like rice noodles and *jokbal* (pork hock), so
even though outside food is restricted,
the choices were quite varied!

On the 2nd floor, there's Food Island, a coffee shop, and a convenience store.

From udon and donkatsu to snacks and
hearty meals, there were plenty of great options for eating with kids.

During lunchtime, most attractions take a break, so
the food court starts to get incredibly crowded.
I recommend eating a bit earlier, taking a rest, and then
diving back into the fun!
